Will it be time and date stamped with accurate and reliable calibration to speed, And who will control, will it be linked to the car’s ECU, so if i change my clock it changes. or will this be set from purchase, asifit is possible to change it could be flaud as evidance.
If it does workout as free then great, but CCTV in car parks is ment to be there for safety but when needed in a civil matter can not always be accessed.
And as for the price of a human life, there isn’t one in my eyes, but why should i fork out for one when i know i Drive safely and with in the rules
RscottFree MemberI’m not convinced by all this technology, I understand that it is a progeression, but a progression of what, All i can see is people making money out of poorer people.
If people want them then fine, but for me it would just be another extra thing to go wrong. but I’m still in the dark ages with phones, laptops and all this jargon.
what will it cost to use the said footage as most of the time for you to get video footage it costs unless its a criminal matter.
RscottFree MemberI got some bose compact 3’s for our bedroom, there designed for pc’s or something with a 3.5mm jack, but they out preformed anything in there price range with our tv.
If you’ve got the money Go for it,the bose equiptment holds its value quite well.
RscottFree MemberMy point on tax was to try and see how how silly an argument using tax was,to justify anything.
And cyclist +non car owner, what so because i own a car that only get used for when i work away from my home i’m not a cyclist, I cycle to work 50% of the time my journy is a 30mile round trip. when i work away the other 50% of time its around 50 miles each way and i usualy do 15 hour shift of physical work.
So because i have a car i’m not in your upper echalon of cyclists, that can disregard curtsy for others, and moan there is not enough cycle lanes for there commute (which there isn’t) but then defend not using them.
I’m more proud to say i am a cyclist i do have and use a car, not all car drivers are are out to get cyclists infact itsthe minority and if i am riding in a area where there is a cycle lane and i’m not using it feel free to politly inform me.
Alot of hypocrisy from some i feel
RscottFree MemberFootflaps you don’t seem to grasp the exaggeration in the examples, to try and put a point across.
Are you a very literal person always or do you just, not want to see that your way of looking at something is not the only one there is.
And i’m offended you think i hate cyclists, I have nowhere said you shouldn’t ride on the road. I have even suggested that the person in question may not have known.
RscottFree MemberSorry My key board is not working so i’ll send this one from My phone.
Yes i am a car Driver, no i don’t hate cyclists, I commute by bike around 50% of the time, but what i do hate is people who think that because you pay taxes it means you don’t have to use common sense.
My example is basically saying that because you pay a tax for something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use the alternative. You would never drive your car down a rail way. would you? your Taxes pay for them to you know.
I believe that if there is a alternative there for you, that is designed for you,you should try and use it.
And as for Road tax not existing, Just because they call it car tax, doesn’t change what it actually does, you can enquirer with your local council about it, and will be told that it goes towards the maintenance of the roads alongside other things.
RscottFree MemberGo on miketaully Begin but before you do think.
Go on yes we allpay tax’s which probably all go towards the road etc. but they also go towards bike lanes, pavements train l9 lines etc.
Just because you pay taxes and they get used for something doesn’t mean you should avoid using alternative methods.
Heres an example. a man who doesn’t Drive but payes taxes is walking down the middle of the road, to his let there is a usable safe, his responce to this is wellipay my taxes so why shouldn’t i use it. footpath.
common sense says because your putting yourself in more danger than neccisery.
now this cyclist is riding in the road (possibly inocently and if so for give me) but there is what i can only persume is a safer place to do it that he has also payed for.
But what your saying is he is in the right just because he has payed his taxes.
well in that case I pay my taxes and they pay for the payevment so i’ll drive my car on that. NO BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE ME AN IDIOT
What i was saying if your going to pull the paying your taxes cards out, you should think of all the other things that that can be related to.
RscottFree MemberAnyone who’s defending this cyclist is seems to be coming up with very selfish reasons, if he/she didn’t know it was there fair enough.
on the taxs front his taxes also payed for the cycle route.
Remember one cyclist not using it is more obviouse than 100 cyclist using it,and the govement will use this to say well do we actuly need them.
thirdly, cyclistsdont pay road tax/rediculouse fule tax which the majority of motorists do, (im not saying we should)but there’s another way to look at the tax sitution.
I’d love to car share but on my journey to work at 5 in the morning i’m lucky to see a single other car.
RscottFree MemberWe were having this exact same conversation in work today.
Working in quite a mixed race environment, we have a lot of fun at each others expense, and i get the most of it, from being called a jock to being refered to a stight because im scottish,(which by the way is bollox having lived in england most of my life now i can always get a drink in bar in scotland try that in england with no money.)
Anyway we came to the conclusion that there are certain words that are unexceptionable, but the main thing that makes it racist is the context used in. And this is a fine line, that differs from race to race and area to area.
RscottFree Memberi have a old f10 excelent camera been out in all condition dropped in mud throrn in and out of kayaks and dirty bags there quick reliable and have a nice feel.
however recently broke it by dropping it on its lense and bust the tiny cog mechanism on the lense. but completly my fault

RscottFree MemberI drove through a puddle that ended up hydrolocking my engine a few years ago.
My reason i was on the top of a hill,(troutbeck in the lakes) and it the hill went up then dropped down the other side Unknown to me itwasore of a w shape.
Now i have driven 4×4 and had them up tothere windscreens in water and its not just all about second gear and not stopping although that helps.

RscottFree Memberon hope hubs don’t get a hope bearing kit for them for a ridiculous price. take the bearings out and toke them to your local engineering shop they will be able to sort you out for a round £2 a bearing. they’ll use the specific code on the seal to get the exact same one for a margin of the price.
RscottFree Memberto begin with i did yes, but once i got used to it, as with anythign it wasn’t really noticeable. I’ve not been entirely honest in my post these wheels are now decommissioned as the bearings in the hubs had gone and the free hub was shot. it worked out cheaper to get a second had pair of wheels and sort them.
Im now running hope pro2’s on mavic xm321,dt swiss double butted stainless spokes, brass nipples. i bought them for the hubs and was going to rebuild them on to my racelite rims but i cant justify the time at the min, and they are in much better condition than i thought when i bought them.
RscottFree MemberCounter sunks can be a pain, but not impossible,
as with any bolt the thing that holds it in is the preasure between the thread and the head as they are trying to pull away from each other.
easiest thing to do is carefully drill the head of the bolt so that the chain guide comes off the frame. make sure there is still some of the bolt sticking out.
then use some mole grips or pliers to remove the loose thread as there will no longer be pressure on it.
RscottFree MemberI’m not going to tell you what to build and what not to build, i’ve been out the bike trade for a while now but I used to build around 2 sets of wheels a week for 4 years, not a lot for some mechanics but enough for me.
we used DT swiss spokes and encoraged people to use them as they were easliy available cheep and wellfinished,i think it was around 75p a spoke compared to the sapims which from around 90p to silly amount. obiously if you wanted double butted or tripple butted etc you’d pay a little more.
I hated using sapium as i found them harder to work with,my boss hated them because we charged a set rate for wheel builds so the mark up wasn’t as good. alloy nipples,we’d see the wheel set in at some point in the near future, but for racing this wasnt an issue.
as for stans rims being not fit for purpose, it depends on what rim you go for and what your doing. I prefered working on mavic rims or sunlights as they were easier and slightly stiffer, so they reaced lessto a tweekon the nipple. the stans and dt rims ifound a littlemore flexible so you had to be a little more carefull.but once built they all made good wheels
I had been riding a set of bontrager race lite rims on dt swiss hubs with tripple butted spokes built by me for 6 years and never trued them i just sold some factory built ones that were my spares that just weren’t being used. I ride n the lakes im no light weight (i was almost 15stone when living up there, and a heavy rider.
RscottFree MemberI’ve only been on here a while. But everyone needs to chill out.
The OP asked about other peoples items and stated his issue, he has not named names and not offended anyone.
IGRF he’snot asked you to sort it on here he’s mearly asking others oppinions on the product.
As for the OP deal with the shop nobody else, make sure you have your rights which have been posted above and i’m sure it will be sorted.
IGRF it is the weekend and nobodys in till monday so dont get stressed the great thing about the tinterweb is that people can say almost what ever they want.
and when it gets sorted which in my oppinion it should have been done of first return to the shop. ((i work in retail)and previously managed a bike shop) he will be praising all involved for there fantastic but timely help
RscottFree MemberI am not a none drinker, however i used to drink heavely at uni and the year or so after i would be out every monday, Wednesday Friday and saturday, occasionally the days between too.
I have cut back and only drink very occasionaly now christmas, birthdays, new year, and the od drink with the family probably no more than 7 or 8 days a year.
No reason for it just don’t fancy it. It never had an effect onmy life i was always fit and healthy and i haven’t lost weight or got any fitter since stopping.
RscottFree MemberI use my local opticians when i was at uni i used online, everyone in my house wears glasses to some extent. I use my local due to the fact that I have 2 different stigmatization in each eye, my optitian gave me a prescription and within 2 months my eyes had changed they swapped my lenses and retested for free, where as the online glasses places would charge as they have nothing to do with the prescription.
RscottFree Memberunforunatly not this is how little information we have been given. will try and find out though
RscottFree MemberI just sent some for £12 via the post office they were massivly over packed in a flat screen tv box and weight just shy of 5kg
RscottFree MemberWalla crag is the one, you’d think i’d know its name having been mentioned several times and me having lived in keswick for 3 years and ambleside for 3 years before that.
Its not massively boggy but there is the odd patch, the grass can be a slog with nobbly tyres on, but the descent is 100% worth it
RscottFree MemberI Have an astra H estate 1.9cdti,sri 150bhp but remaped to 190 on the sport button and eco off the sport button. I get 58 to 68 mpg on the motoway sometimes more. but around town it is terrible even in eco i get between 38 to 45.and only if i keep the egr valve clean, this costs about £6 every 6000 miles and takes about 30 mins once you know what your doing.
My old 1l punto was way better round town.
RscottFree MemberI did it as a first ride out after 2 years off the bike from breaking a femur and dislocating my shoulder.
Awsome ride, but instead of riding up the road at ashness bridge there is a foot path that goes up from keswick to the top of a crag and you can decsend down to ashness bridge instead of upto it.
RscottFree MemberI have had in this order.
Inbred 18inch
Inbred 16inch
Scandal 16inch
456 18 inch
456 16inch
and im back on a inbred 16 Inch,i have ridden various other bike over the years as well but keep coming back i love my inbred 16inch im 5foot7 and have a good 20cm if not more of post out of the frame. For the money you cant go wrong with any of them really.Im also going to say the opposite the dialed bikes i hated way stiffer than the on-one and i felt it weight to much. and the sandersons made my inbred feel slack
RscottFree MemberInflation, More empolyee’s, longer opening hours, higher charges for shop fittings and electricity. Expanding. Manufacturers upping the price.
All reasons the aldi specials may have increased.
And no sunday
RscottFree MemberI used to have one of these bad boys, untill it was relocated into someone elses bag in the alps.
RscottFree MemberIts not really a ridiculous question.
It depends on the rating of the tyres if they are designed for a small car like a smart car someone in the car would effect them more than on the likes of a van which tyres would be designed to take loaded weight as well as the vehicle weight.
RscottFree MemberGo Speek toadoctor1in 10 people suffer from depression at somepoint in there life Apparantly, however every ones case is different.
My partner is currently suffering from depression and the thing that helps most is the people around her.
Becasue we now understand her issues we can help more, and are more understanding, It shouldn’t be Embarasing but it understandably is. And it wont just go away but keep working on it, and it will get better
RscottFree MemberI got some Bose speekers for my tv, they were suposed to get 15% of when i got them to the till the cashier told me she couldn’t sell me them as Bose had recalled there stock as had dyson so they could sell it at full price, she called the manager and he said just to sell them to me,as they couldn’t do anything about it once they had left the store. she proceeded to give me just below 60% off
RscottFree MemberHaving done blue lights training but not currently part of an emergency service, I despised the aggressive driving styles and techniques taught to get past traffic with out using your lights. I was also told that this was only to be used in times where traffic was not traveling at the speed limit, and if it was necessary to use it above the limit then lights should be used.
After all they are not beyond the law, I personal always remember what i was told when i first started to drive and that was if being tail gated reduce your speed.
I have done this to police cars before and it is very annoying for them but so is there driving for other road users. I do this as i have been clipped by a car that was practicing aggressive driving and ended up paying for the damage myself.
And as for the comment on be ready to be pulled over every chance they get, if you do report it,there is one word for that harassment.
RscottFree MemberAnyone use a zero stack head set, i understand the cons of them not lasting to long however my brother in law works as an engineer and can get bearings to fit most things
