wonder how many on-one geeks went to bed early and struggled getting to sleep thinking what might become of brant the messiah.

What will be first then, a chain reaction steel hardtail for 50p.

You’ve messed with that druidh! This is the real version.

British bicycle company Planet X has announced today that the search is on for a bike designer for its On-One brand, a company affectionately known as Europe’s original singlespeed anti-brand. Former journalist Brant Richards, On-One’s designer and mouthpiece, has been plucked away by Trek Bicycles as they plan on entering the steel hardtail market.

Part of the Planet X stable, On-One was created over nine years ago by Dave Loughran and Richards and has seen significant growth during their time working together, according to Loughran. On-One’s iconic bikes include the Inbred, Scandal, and 456.

“This is an exciting time for On-One,” he added. “We are looking for a new designer and the opportunities are out there to continue to fill a niche that big manufactures can’t see. We always said that our most successful projects were finding the “niche of a niche” and that’s a tradition were going to continue.

“I believe a new designer, with different ideas and a fresh look will help take On-One further along its unusual path,” Loughran added. “I am sorry that Brant is leaving and wish him every success. He has been an influential part of the team that has built a brand with strong foundations and a cult following.”

I did the red a few weeks back on one of the alpitude hire bikes after years of doing it full suss, the hardtail was hard work and i was pretty beat by the end of it, it was my first time on the bike in a few months but still it was harder work on the hardtail.

not a problem, email is roy dot susan dot bc at googlemail dot com, we did the same thing, came over on holiday loved it and moved a couple of years later, your not really going to be dissapointed, just sitting having my brekkie deciding whether to go snowboarding, snowshoeing or go for a run or something, might leave the snowboarding till it gets dark. Currently being blinded by the sun coming in our big windows, its a bugger, did I mention that i like it here, a lot.

Never heard of this before, I wouldn’t ever send the goods without the money in my account, although sounds like the money is in your account just hasn’t been released for you to use. Not everybody leaves feeback and not always early so you might have to wait the 21 days, sounds crap to me.

I’m in burnaby on top of the mountain, couldn’t believe how much snow there was when we drove back up today. Got the 4×4 which works pretty well except when you need to stop. Need to look into some snow tires for it i think if i’m going to make the most of this winter.

I’m mostly liking it, couple of things that would be good are to remove the bit that says posted XX minutes ago for every post, it just means the thread takes longer to scroll through.

It would also be better if each thread was contained within one page like the old forum, this was one of the best features.

Another thing i like on other forums is if you hover over a topic heading it brings up the first bit of text in that post so you can preview the thread without clicking on it.

Apart from that, good job to all the STW staff.
