who the hell ever though it was a good idea to leave some parts of the cable exposed anyway, another vote for full outers here. Get the drill out!

I would say the XC will be pretty much as strong as the stumpy, just cheaper metals and slightly different tube profiles if i recall correctly, at least that was the case back in 05 when i bought mine. You can always stick some pikes on the front of it which will help beef it up and maybe give you a bit more confidence riding off drops and stuff. Thats what I did to mine.

No, most of my time has been spent riding the pentlands and 7 stanes, only ever shouldered my bike to lift it over a fence in the pentlands, currently live in vancouver and not had a need to do it here either. Its ok, its your bike, just my personal tatse, thats all, have fun on it. :D

fair enough, just my first thoughts when i looked at it. Its your bike so my opinion doesn’t really matter too much, enjoy the ride.

I think i can still do that with the cable under the top tube  Seriously how often do you carry your bike on your shoulder?

cable guides on top of top tube are a no no for me, don’t want to see them when looking down at the bike.

I had an FSR XC Comp back in 2005, it’s a good bike and very capable but its XC orientated. I upgraded to a 2006 Enduro the next year and it provided far greater confidence to push myself. The FSR XC will be fine for what you describe but something like a pitch would give you more confidence as it just feels a bit more capable when you point it downwards. It’ll help you progress quicker if thats what you want.

When i did a paper round which was only on a sunday that gave me 5 quid for an hour one day a week, so thats double a month what you’ve currently got. But you say in you other thread you just got a new bike, ride the tits off it and enjoy it.

No real advice but know what you mean, I hadn’t cycled since about October and despite lots of running and feeling fitter than before, when i got back on the bike at xmas my legs were totally ****. I guess my advice is just to ride more, its the best thing thing for getting better at it.

Andy, thats the problem I found when I had the DSLR, I was doing things just to try and get the photo of them rather than just doing them and enjoying it, I found I was getting to tied up in getting the picture rather than just having fun. Obviously for some it is fun and i’m not having a go at the people who enjoy it but for me it was taking away the fun and i was pissed off if i didn’t get the picture i wanted. I’m never going to sell my photos, they are just for memories and for me a quick snap with the compact is good enough, still got plenty of what I would call good pics this way and maybe the bit of time playing with the SLR has helped in this respect.

Once ordered a can creek headset from ebay off them (didn’t know it was them at the time) and they sent a lower quality one, gave me so much BS at the time I ended up just making do with the lower quality one.

I jumped on the SLR bandwagon just over a year ago, tried to take the time to learn it but it takes a lot of work and experimenting with and to be honest found the thing too much of a pain in the ass to take anywhere so most of the time it never got used. Bought a Nikon P5100 which has most of the manual controls so I can still play with things a bit and for me its better having a small camera I actually use, even if the quality is slightly lower.

doesn’t matter whether the fork is meant for DH or AM, it’ll put different stresses on the frame than what it has been designed for (maybe), let us know what mike says, would be interested to know.

Just one thing about the spesh fork, the dialled webiste says it’ll take just about any single crown fork, might want to check the warranty situation if you were to stick a dual crown on there.

I really don’t see what more you need to do, maybe you could have a dedicated couple of pages in the mag for womens stuff, a dedicated section in the reviews section for womens stuff. File the womans forum idea in the bin though. You’ll be changing the green on the website to pink next

Sorry but I think its a stupid idea, its a bike forum we talk about bikes, doesn’t matter whether your male, female, a bit of both, we ride bikes and thats what the forum is for and the off-topic obviously. This is just about the most civilised forum on the internet I think, most people on here are very helpful so can’t see how there would be a problem in the first place.

ton, just push your legs down and round a bit alternating between each leg, at the same time give the leg which just pushed down a rest until it gets its turn again.
