I had an audi a4 with the 1.8T engine, had the oil sludge problem which caused low oil pressure and tapety noise, i’m no expert but if its making the tapety noise now it prob means there isn’t enough oil getting to the engine, thus you’re wearing the vales down or something like that, get it seen too sharpish!

The crap thing about RMs Track & Trace is, it isn’t

You can’t track stuff until it’s been delivered – what’s the point in that? if it has been delivered I don’t want to track the fekkin thing coz I’ve got it.

I always felt it was more worth it for me as a seller as I knew when the buyer had received it and they couldn’t pull the ‘I haven’t received it trick’, your right that it doesn’t really help the buyer out much. In the days of the orange slips, the post office used to give me packs of them home so i could fill them out before i got to the post office, so i could have had a long list of tracking numbers at my disposal. Not sure if this is different now as it seems they don’t use those slips anymore.

Ah, fair enough, haven’t lived in the uk for just over a year but used to fill out those orange slips all the time.

Yes, so if the frame was actually a 14 inch fame or whatever that measures, you would have to stick the seatpost in further in order to not **** up the frame… maybe! With the brace, you get a frame that fits you like a 17 inch but feels more compact and chuckable like a 14 inch or less.

I’ve never seen the point of the raised and braced seat towers you get on a lot of bikes: why not just have a longer post?

It lets you get the top tube lower for the same length of seat tube, duh! so its like riding a small frame without having to use as long a seatpost. When I ordered my Alpine Mike said the bottom of the seatpost must sit below the bottom of the top tube, if you just had a small frame with no extended seattube you would have to insert the seatpost further to reach the minimum insertion requirements, thus requiring a longer post to reach suitable pedaling height. did that make sense?

I have a 2008 100mm 20mm one on ebay just now, the lowers have quite a few paint chips but they still work fine, it has a pretty short steerer and i’m in canada so would have to figure out postage to the uk if you were interested.

Running a 25.5/22 with 140 Pikes (I’m 5’10”). Not ridden it a lot but have liked it when I have
