re. the weight cut thing, anybody see the bit on BBC iplayer, forget what its called now but was on the first page yesterday, I never realized the extents they go to to get down to the category weight. Its pretty messed up!

had a two clamp issue with sram stuff last year, new bike with guide brakes and reverb on the same clamp, problem is, where I like my brake levers, so that I just need one finger, I can’t reach the reverb lever without moving my grip inward an inch, so back to two clamps. Dunno why i’m telling you this…

I think it was a decent first episode, I like that they didn’t have specifically named segments, it just kind of moved between each without trying too hard, like inventing tacky names such as conversation street or celebrity brain crash!

Winter is no worse than central Scotland, recent snow has been unusually bad, worst in about 8-9 years have been riding through the winter pretty much every year, summer is way better than the uk. Look at Lower Lonsdale in North Van and take seabus to work.

no personal experience but seen loads of people using them in Amsterdam with little issue, but then they have safe cycling infrastructure. If you’re squeezing down congested streets, I’d maybe think twice. Couple of pics from my trip…

Patrol, the long travel bike that feels like a short travel bike, not sure that’s a good thing! but it does “pop”. It is a bit of a pig on the climbs mind. And yes, I have one too, and often question if it was the right decision.

So at what point do you decide that you dislike somebody’s views so much that you won’t go on a chat show hosted by them ? I would have thought that it was an excellent opportunity for McGregor to engage with Piers Morgan and try to get his point across . That would be more interesting than the squillions of interviews where people are just fed easy opportunities for self promotion .

Why engage with him? To prove you can debate with a ****? Morgan is a dick of the highest order! I wouldn’t give him the time of day either.

Okay some constructive criticisims for him … I think he could improve on his arguments by arguing for something new rather than those that have been played to death. He needs new materials. If he wants ideas I can give him some but he needs to pay me first.

Who has written all the “angry” lines for him coz that person should be fired for recycling everything out there. This is the sort of so called “media” that is not entertaining trying to entertain. His materials are so repetitive he is not even the first one to do this act. Most comedians have already covered his style of presentation so I think he could do better by changing his style.

Waving around with his hands and doing all his shouty shouty are old hat my son. You need to do better. Fire that bloke who asks you to do that because that person has run out of ideas.

Is he trying to be political commentator or is he trying to be entertaining? Because he is not here nor there as he is playing safe by adopting the in between style.

Well clearly as a solo effort it’s totally futile (apart from making me feel better) but I suspect there are millions or even billions around the globe who respect America a little less for voting him in. If just a fraction make a similar decision to me it will have a financial impact.

I have to say, living just across the border in Vancouver, we used to take reasonably frequent trips down to the states, now with Trump being in Power, it makes me want to visit less.

I use different social media for different things, facebook for contact with friends, although thats largely unused these days because its full of pish. Instagram to follow mountain bike folks, and then twitter for work where I follow transportation/urban planning type folks who are all very into it, but it is probably the most useful as it keeps me up to speed with latest trends in the industry.
