to be fair TLR, you can't really say people are hauling extra weight, maybe compared to you Ti456 but my hardtail, probably the one in the video posted and many others are probably a fair bit heavier than many of the 5-6 inch travel bikes out there, think i'm about 31-32lbs just now but wouldn't change anything.

so what are you charging 150 for? 150 just the paint or 50 for the paint and 100 for the art?

you realize there's a human in the car when you are driving :)

Ah! this explains why you were unable to figure out that the guy riding the hardtail in whistler was actually quite good :)

Well, my point is, yeah he is a good rider, but he's not exactly going to start bothering the likes of steve smith, brendon faircloigh or other young riders. And neither am i for that matter.

Crap point poorly made. Jeez there's some grumpy bastards on here. How can anyone watch that and not be impressed.

Because I wanted a change, had read lots of glowing reviews on this here forum and figured going back to a hardtail would be fun, it would also be quite rare in canada and as I was swapping my full suss 06 Enduro for a hardtail I figured I would sell the hardtail commuter I had too. Back to just one bike! Very pleased with my alpine in every respect except maybe the commuting part, but it still does the job :D And with an office move it will actually get a thorough workout on my commute next year :D

Not enough pics in this thread.

As the seller I guess its up to you what you do, but if you can arrange a mutually convenient time saves having to package it all up. Give him the times he can collect and don't let him fanny you about, have had that before, the buyer ended up waiting two weeks to get something i could have posted in two days.

helmets come with every rental, they'll be a bit crap but will do the job. Is she confident on a bike, do you think some of the stuff on the red will put her off for good? If she falls off is she more likely to laugh it off or start crying and want to go home and never do it again?

I love it through in the okanagan, totally different landscape from the vancouver area, I haven't ridden there but could quite easily live there I think if i could get the work.

I live up the top of Buranby Mountain and it was covered in snow for a good few months this year and the one before, the lower trails again are more accessible all year but its more fun if you can start at the top, and hell, its snowing, put the bike away for a few months and enjoy the snow :)

Here's a couple of little vids i made of burnaby mountain

@bitterbaldingfatty, don't know if all apartments have this but in the underground parking for my building there are a couple of stalls set aside with a hose hooked up to wash your car and bikes, maintenance is a bit more of an issue, I usually make sure the bike is clean and take it in the lift up to my apartment.

another expat here, and can't add much more than the previous guys, climate is awesome, 2 summers so far both far exceeded anything i remember in 30 years in the uk, i'm actually sick of the sun now and want some cold, rain and snow. There is riding for normal people, 3 ski hills on your doorstep, etc etc etc :D

A bit late to the discussion here. I don't have a huge problem with smokers, I don't like it much but i'll get on with my life. However, we recently had the finance's mum and sister over to BC for a couple of weeks, her mum smokes and it rules her bloody life.

She got patches for the flight over and kept going on about how amazed she was that they worked… duh its what they are designed to do… but well done made it though a 9 hour flight and 4 hour delay without issue. She then feels she has to have one once she's back at our place (outside I might add), not because she wants one but because she feels she has to. No logic in it

Everywhere we went after that was focussed around being able to go for a fag, take them to the mall, where's the nearest exit, going on a trip she needs to know when she can smoke and when we do stop to look at something interesting her first thought is to have a fag, and imagine trying to tell her there is a smoking ban in parks because of all the dry weather and forest fires we have had

Granted a few of you might be somewhat considerate, but please be aware that nobody wants to smell your stinking fag smoke while having dinner outside in the summer whether they tell you or not!

Just adjustability isn't it, I've had a set of 3's on my bike for 2-3 years now and not had a problem with them, plenty of power.

transition bottle rocket springs to mind as that type of bike, 5 at the back and pretty much anything up front, i think my next bike will be that sort of bike too.

Good idea Jamie, I think that can be arranged.

Hope that includes international photos Mike :) A pic of a Dialled Alpine in Whistler must be worth 2-3 t-shirts compared to one in say boring southern england
