just take the enduro, I could understand taking a hardtail if it was your only ride, but the enduro will clearly be a better bet, unless you plan on just mincing about in the village trying to look hard on your old fashioned bike 🙂

down here we get water from taps in our houses. save us walking the 5mile round trip the northerners have to do to get water from the river!

would that be the taps with a direct connection to the nearest sewage treatment plant, i'll stick to the nice fresh water from our rivers thanks.

cool little video and trails, only things i would say are that it looked a little washed out in places and maybe some of the transitions could have been a little better (just a little). Well done!

had the elite absolutes and hated them, any big hit they would blow through the travel no matter how i had them set up, would be fine for light XC duties but thats all.

my biggest challenge in improving is just getting the balls to do something new, there was a time when even a little drop had me thinking twice, but once you do it you wonder why you never just did it, you just need to gradually keep moving that boundary. Once you accept that you may fall off/crash trying it and just do it, it will help a lot but chances are unless your completely useless on a bike you'll be ok. Oh and flat pedals gave me way more confidence and can't say i lost any pedaling ability.

ton, I had a DSLR once, very rarely took it on the bike as it was too big, I would seriously look at the new olympus and panasonic models if your looking to lug it about a bit.

I keep meaning to get a shorter one, haven't been impaled yet though, I figure the visor is more likely to rip off than impale me though and it would have to go through the shell of the helmet and the inside stuff.

pjb, this is the mount i had knocked together (with old camera), came off the end of an old monopod i never used. works really well and the Panasonic is a million times better than the Olympus 850SW I had before for pretty much everything.

pjbarton, I have that, great little camera, I even use it as a helmet cam.

kiwijohn, I figured you couldn't be right as when i checked yesterday on my old G4 ibook, 1.3GHz with 512MB RAM, STW uses just 20%. I just double checked and when i'm scrolled down (no flash visible on the page) its at about 20-30%, then if i scroll back up so that I can see the ads its at 60-70%. Still perfectly usable although This machine doesn't have much crap on it clogging things up, it just gets used for the internet. ps thats in firefox, haven't used safari in ages.
