Nick, the manufacturer will have designed each frame around a certain for length, 20mm here or there probably isn't a problem but adding a much longer fork will change the handling and put more stress on the frame than it was designed for.

these days I would say absolute minimum is 140mm but even that seems quite normal these days for a general use bike so LT must be at least 150-160mm.

fair enough if you need dedicated software for that, then this obviously isn't going to work for you in a business sense, if you watch the keynote speech, the iWork demo's were pretty impressive so it is feasible for some that they could work on this away from home, just depends what sort of work you need to do.

I see a lot of potential for the apps, the demo's that had been worked on for just two weeks were a good intro, hopefully with a few months to work there will be some truly useful apps in there.

Don't get a car. A car will be worse for carrying passengers than a bus (not enough seats, limited engine size), and it will be worse than a motorbike for driving in traffic (too big and too slow). No-one will want one.

    iLike this analogy 😀

anyone else feel like they just moved everything in office 07 for the sake of making it different, I swear I spend half my time using it just looking for things that aren't where they've been for the last X number of years. 👿

kind of did what you talk about but don't have any kids, just me and the fiancee. Had a mortgage on a 1 bed flat for about 3 years so never really paid much off, ended up taking a bit extra out against the flat to pay for a holiday to vancouver/whistler, loved it there so sold up and moved here two years ago. Used the profits to pay off some debt and the rest helped towards the move and a very enjoyable first year here. Don't regret doing it but the prospect of buying a house here seems a long way off and at 32, like you I'm not sure i'll get round to ever paying a mortgage off in my lifetime. Not sure that helps any.

I will be very interested in seeing how much this costs, can't see it being much shy of £1k so I'm unlikley to ever buy one. But my Touch experience is such that if I could afford one I'd buy one.

Starting from $500, knock yourself out 🙂

Now that i come to think of it, its not just multiple iPods, I can also transfer songs from itunes to my nokia 5800 using the official nokia software (granted not the DRM ones bought on itunes but those are few and far between and there prob is a way around it) 😀

But you can copy on to an iPod from a computer but not off it? its quite simple, download all your music to the computer, then you don't need to do it back the other way

Yet you can't download directly on to an iPod…. you can from itunes with a touch or iphone

And the 'intellectual property' on my iPod or Zen or Walkman is **** all to do with Apple. eh?

Nope, sorry it's Apple arsing about. I think your making a fuss about nothing, can't say i've ever felt restricted having an ipod and the software beats any of the non ipod mp3 players i used to have

Only thing I would have preferred is flash support which could still come, they keep talking about it for the iphone.

What is a shame is that Apple as a company are an excellent example of how to do it well, but the fawning and overexcitement that each new product provokes acts as a definite turnoff for so many people. I, and a number of others I know, wouldn't use an Apple product on principle, unless it did something that nothing else did. Itunes is a case in point, the over engineering and DRM plus the 'we know what you want and you'll do it our way' business just annoys me.

Maybe you should try, you might like it 🙂

I would love that on our colour printer/copier, to stop everyone using it all the time because its expensive, you have to enter an 8 digit password for the project your working on, only problem is it doesn't tell you if you get it wrong but it does tell you its printed. Then you get to the printer and nothing there… I'd love a Dah-Duh-Daaa!

Do mine all the time. In the words of doctor Evil, "There's nothing quite as liberating as a freshley shawn scrotum, its breathtaking i surgest you try it!"

It is both liberating and breathtaking, but I do recomend you take a long hot bath first, use a little shaving foam and a fresh razer blade, preferably a saftey blade like the popular mach range.

Waxing isnt recomended for men, as the risk of a subsiquent ingrowing hair on your sac is quite high aparently.

Are you just a roadie that didn't know where to stop?

But the fact that it always wakes me up even when off, means it does the job of an alarm clock just as well as a stand alone one.

Stand alone alarm clock won't work if you switch it off either 😆

Yes but the difference is, a computer is just as good at those things* as a separate one, an iphone isn't as good at being a camera, sat nav, or mp3 player, or even a phone, as a dedicated one is.

Sorry for being blunt but you're an idiot, its not supposed to be as good as stand alone devices (except maybe the MP3 player), it does all those things really very well in an easy to use way 🙄

ps. I don't own an iPhone but do have an iPod Touch which is relegated to sitting in my car glove box as my nokia 5800 does most of what the touch does but not quite as well, but it is my phone and i have with me at all times.

These children say violence as normal and something to be done for entertainment

I'll call BS on that statement. I'm sure the mother looked happy when the father was beating on her or whatever else happened, likewise if the kids were beaten i'm sure they know how horrible it is. the kids themselves said it was because the were bored, they just didn't think about the consequences as they had probably gotten away with a ton of other stuff before this.

I still agree that it was their upbringing that made them turn out like that, but it doesn't excuse all responsibility.

and by the way – my 5 year old ABSOLUTELY knows right from wrong. All 10 year olds do – irrespective of upbringing.

Absolutely! Lots of kids these days seem to have the mentality that they can do what they want and get away with it!
