    For me not all rides are about improving, some i'm just happy to be out riding, others i'll be trying to hit something I haven't before or take a corner faster and if that goes tits up its annoying but at least your trying. If you fall off pushing yourself you feel good because you know your pushing it. On the other hand if you make an arse of things you normally find no problem then its time to through the dummy out (or have a caramel).

    the problem with these situations is you'll be lucky to speak with the same person twice and they will keep passing the buck while you incur more charges and stress. My fiancées mum eventually accepted a half arsed settlement on the basis she couldn't face the additional time it would take to maybe get a better result in which time more charges would have been applied. I f@#$$%ng hate banks.

    banks are assholes, thats my only conclusion from trying to help my fiancee's mum out in a situation created entirely by the bank being useless w@nkers! Could you open another account with a different bank and change the DD manually so there is no contact between the new bank and original bank. Not sue if that would work to stop any more similar situations.

    fair enough, I don't think i've bought anything for my bike in about six months and that was a set of brake pads but i've always had trails on my doorstep pretty much.

    surely once you have the bike, it costs way less than they gym?

    My bike spending is on hold as I try to clear some debts, I've had a very enjoyable last few years but time to calm down a little and pay for it 🙁

    The link you quoted describes over-training as being unable to recover quickly enough and subsequenetly that having an effect on performance, hence feeling tired and fatigued 🙄

    😆 sounds like a description of being tired and fatigued to me.

    I may be knackered immediately after a long ride but probably fine the next day. If I'm pushing hard on my commute every day I start to feel more tired and fatigued by the end of the week, legs feel a bit dead, etc. If thats not being tired and fatigued and caused by over training then I don't know what is.

    I could cycle for ever sitting down but my leg strength was pathetic and my thighs burned after a very short time standing up, previously I had never stood up much and always sat and spun my way up hills. Since that thread about a month ago I have made an effort to pedal standing up as much as possible when i come to a hill on my commute. The difference in the space of a month has been amazing, my legs are far stronger and it actually makes a difference when your sitting and spinning too, your able to spin faster rather than winch your way up.

    the other way to fix it is to bring some southerners up as they have more appealing blood so they tend to get hit harder than the natives!

    why don't the midges just move down south then?

    buyer should have asked for pics or at least some deatils before buying, the seller doesn't state what condition it is in, it would be better if they had but buyer should have asked more questions.

    you could use the bike rack on the car if you have one and if it clamps the top tube and holds the bike away from the car.

    when your out training try and ride a lot of it standing up, even if its just for short distances then a rest then a bit more then a rest, you will find yourself getting better, will really improve your leg strength.

    Why are we still using rear QRs? Can we have a better solution please?

    agreed, i'd like to see maxle's on the rear become as normal as a 20mm front.
