I have come across relatively little attitude up there and I’m not the fastest, just pull over if your holding some one up as there are a lot of very fast guys out there, stick to the easier ones like b-line and crank it up with the kid unless he’s like the kids in those recent videos. Lips on A-line and dirt merchant are pretty big and take some balls to hit properly. Lift lines aren’t that bad and move pretty quickly and i’ve only been up at weekends this year, 20 minutes is a welcome break between laps to be honest. Re. weather, august would be the safest bet and almost guarantee good weather, july should be good but more chance of rain.

So by the standards of most of you on here who are saying that he couldn’t have been better without cheating that means that Usain Bolt must be guilty as he is so much faster than all his competitors.

Maybe he didn’t get caught because he didn’t cheat

Crap argument, Usain Bolt is presumed to be competing against clean athletes and is the best of them. Lance was known to be competing against doping cyclists and was better than them.

I don’t doubt he was doing something along with the rest of them but his full statement and his lawayers suggest that the evidence is submitted to the UCI for their review…

    so he’s not exactly hiding.

so if these are bigger and lighter, presumably wall thickness is reduced and therefore more likely to be damaged in a crash.

Obviously I don’t know your exact requirements but like you I considered the Nikon 1, the main thing was the superior autofocus that was supposed to be better for sports but the lack of lenses bothered me, in the end after deliberating over all these cameras and pixel peeping sample pictures I decided they were all pretty good and for someone not really into photography but wanting some decent pictures I figured any of them would do the job.

I picked up an Olympus EPM1 on sale for $400CAD, not sure what they go for in the UK and have since added the 20mm f1.7 pancake which is truly awesome for biking, providing you prefocus. The EPM1 focuses pretty fast but that lens is an older design that takes a little longer but the results from it are excellent, even in a dark forest.

sounds like you’ve done your homework but if budget is an issue why not look for a cheap panasonic or olympus, you may find you get tired of the nikon lens selection pretty quickly, m43 has some excellent pancakes.

I had the 14mm F2.5 and now the 20mm F1.7, After having the 20mm for a while I found I never took it off the camera, its an awesome little lens.

I would say i spend around $100 for food for the week for 1 person. $140 for cable with HD channels and broadband, rent is $1500 for a very nice 2 bed condo (in Burnaby), there is no property tax or strata as that’s paid for by the owner, it includes gas for me. electricity is about $50-60 month average, paid every two months. Cell is $60/month for 500MB/200mins. My monthly car insurance is $100 with ICBC/$45 with canadian direct for a brand new car.

If you did want to finance a car, I had a brand new ford escape 4×4 within two weeks of arriving, just gave them my uk credit report and letter of job offer and good to go. Make sure you get details of your no claims and not just full no claims discount, because you can have it protected in the uk they need full history, how many years, how many claims that were protected etc, insurance will be expensive, you have to get basic with ICBC, then get additional with candian direct who will recognize your overseas experience without so many questions. Still I get paid a ton more than i did in the uk.
