main complaint is the calendar, you click on the day and it shows an hour by hour view, not just a list of actual items one after the other, so you have to scroll to see everything that day, big pain in the ass.

Turned off the parallax thing straight away, their quest to make it simple somehow included stupid battery wasting gimicks, shakes head! same goes for some of the zoom in and out animations, wished i could turn it off.

Other than that, its fine i guess.

Its great, browsing is quite quick, it took a few seconds to transfer one photo to the phone, so a whole video would take a while, not bad if you’re recording little clips maybe. I stuck mine in photo mode last night, went for a ride, browsed photos on my phone, saved one to my iPhone, edited it and posted on the web before we even retrieved my car from the top, very cool!

You don’t need right click, just left click at the destination, then on the little directions arrow (top left) and then either choose a saved place (like Home) or click somewhere else.

yeah I figured it out, just like the old version, I’ve reverted back to “classic” google maps for now

they’ve dicked around with the web version too, no ability to right click and say directions to/from here, no my maps there either, Don’t know what their strategy is, but it seems backwards.

If I want to buy a car and i’m starting from zero, then I can save say $200/month, buy a car in a few years for X amount or I can buy a car now for $200/month finance, you can argue the technicalities but at the end of the day if you want a car you need to spend the money. Does it really matter if some people do it one way or the other.

Huge difference between saving up, vs. paying for a car on finance!

    not really…

Have not read all he posts, but has anyone mentioned saving up and paying for what you can afford?

whats the big deal with saving up v’s paying into a finance purchase that will add up to the equivalent amount over the lifetime of the car, it’s all just spending money at the end of the day…

if you have a smart phone get the map apps, well worth it, the maps are loaded on the device so just needs GPS, check here for details http://trailmapps.com/

I would say for some classic north shore… Seymour for some DH down CBC, Corkscrew, Neds, Bottletop, really needs to be shuttled, hang around long enough someone will give you a ride up.

Fromme can be ridden up try 7th Secret, Ladies Only, Baden Powell back to start, do some laps of bobsled, floppy bunny and finish with natural high.

    Cypress, don’t ride it much…

Squamish, depends how high you want to ride, Half Nelson and full nelson are quite famous but almost trail centre style, jumps, berms, but there is so much there.

Whistler, comfortably numb is an IMBA epic, done it once, not sure I would again. again tons of trails in the valley, get the apps.

Might as well do one day in the bike park if you haven’t been before, or even buy the sampler ticket to do just a few runs, also they have the top of the world trail which is a bit different i guess.

had one for 2 years, base model here, 2.4 Petrol with 4WD, 6 Speed AT, good options, hauls 4 guys and 4 dh bikes to whistler a lot, I have no complaints. mileage is decent, better than the old jeep I had before by a mile. Interior is clean, simple and straight forward, doesn’t look like a spaceship (good thing).

I’ve had a couple of 180mm bikes, a Bullit and a Faith, both decent bikes but nothing compared to a full on DH bike (Flatline), the geometry and extra bit of suspension make a huge difference.

spray with WD40 and wipe with a rag, use dry lube so it doesn’t get so dirty next time, repeat after every ride or two.

anyone else think his front wheel comes up really high when he jumps the demo, like its not balanced quite right, I never noticed that when he rode the trek and I’ve noticed it in the two videos I’ve now seen of him on the demo. Can’t wait for this season to kick off, going to be very interesting.

If you don’t mind a move, look abroad, far better opportunities than I understand are in the uk right now. I moved to Vancouver 5 years ago and I was told at the time I could have easily moved to Aus/NZ too as they were crying out for people.

not fun, but some material explaining the health benefits, how many calories a year cycling 6km to work and back everyday would burn, how many mars bars or cheeseburgers that equates too might encourage a few, also the reduced risks of heart attacks, etc from the extra exercise, there’s a lot of material floating about if you google health benefits of cycling… maybe also explain that you have all those facilities as some may not know if they’re tucked away.

I have a section of trail that I have Strava’d on a few bikes now, its all downhill but pretty smooth and flowy, my time on a Mongoose Teocali (6″ travel) was 6:39 I think, my time on a Giant Faith (7″ travel) was 6:09 then just last night I thought I’d try the new Rocky Flatline (8″ travel) and i was 6:37, it’s definitely a lot faster on rougher trails but I guess not on smoother ones, or maybe I was having an off day…

My advice is get one, if it sucks take it back until you get a good one, my H3B has been fine and I’m enjoying messing about with it, I have a 32GB Class 10 card and one spare battery. I haven’t been able to fill it yet in one session. I always clear the memory before going out again.

Some videos of mine here https://vimeo.com/snomys/videos

I’ve found this forum to be the most useful http://goprouser.freeforums.org/index.php

This is very useful for understanding it too from the guy that does the promo videos for gopro http://abekislevitz.com/understanding-your-new-gopro/

I don’t think you can, many years ago I still owed about 3k on a car, took a bank loan for the 3k, paid the car off, sold it for 4 something, paid off the loan and pocketed the difference.

edit: assuming its financed through the dealership and not just a general bank loan.
