Yes, sort of, back in January we released Bike Setup, I had the idea for it a while back, luckily my wife is a mac developer and wanted to do more iOS work and had the time to do it, even still it was a learning curve for her but not too difficult if you have a programming background. I look at the code and don’t understand a bit of it. I had fun doing the website, graphics, and bugging the likes of chipps to publish a story about it, you can read more on our website http://www.bike-setup.com, there’s a bunch of stats on the news page if you like that sort of thing, its not easy getting it off the ground even with features on numerous bike websites. There’s definitely a lot to it even for a very simple app like ours.

Hi Mike, this is my app, or I should say mine and my wife’s, it was my idea, I do the web side (amateur at this) and bug the likes of Chipps (also an amateur at this – he has a copy but is very busy), she has the coding skills which were primarily for OSX.

We started this off as she wanted some iOS experience and her own published apps in the app store and I’ve had this idea floating around for a little while. So it started as a little personal project then started to look quite cool so we thought might as well go all in and put it out there and see if people like it! So not a case of CBA, just we are not some big corporate machine with endless resources. Maybe she will get some Android experience soon too if all goes well!

piece of advice that may or may not help, if your cables appear to be a bit dodgy, try digging fluff out of the iPhone with a paperclip, solved my dodgy cable connection, there was a surprising amount of fluff in there.

the latest firmware sorted most of the problems. I have one of the first blacks, it was mostly ok but had a few issues, all resolved with firmware updates.

not the full 30% though, some of that is through more power efficient processor or software in the 3+

how about doing some destruction testing with the other tubes that didn’t make the frame…

are you sure you didn’t just wrap some black tape around an old alu frame? :-) Did you take it off any kind of jumps or drops or purely XC wheels on the ground testing?

I must be missing something as to my eyes it looks like the chainring is directly connected to the rear cog?

I’m assuming that to make it work the crankset is rotating independently of the chainring with two different drive axles?

haha, I know! high roller here! the physical design is the same as the previous one.

Its about a year, my H3B has been pretty problem free since new, couple of freezing issues initially but only occasionally, the firmware updates addressed pretty much everything. Battery life hasn’t been that bad and looks like we can get a bit more out of the new batteries. Might buy a new case as the actual camera is the same size.

as you still haven’t broken the remaining parts, film yourself trying harder to break them, post on the internet so that someone can reference it every time the carbon question comes up.

I agree that 30% is often way too much sag, I guess it does depend on the fork but my Sektor Solo Air and Boxxer RC both feel much better sitting around 15-20%, with this setup i maybe use at least 75% of travel most rides and full travel only if there are drops involved which i feel is right.

[5joke]If you really want to do some filing with it, return the bike to its original role… break up all the welds and fold it back into the shape of a filing cabinet[/5joke]

We had (still have) an apple TV but found it a bit limiting for some things so bought a mac mini instead

exactly the same here. I bought the wireless keyboard and track pad plus a little drinks tray from ikea which holds both pretty much perfectly and makes typing and using the trackpad super easy from the coach. I wouldn’t use this to browse the internet for fb, etc, but its great for internet tv and has none of the limitations of Apple TV.
