Hi, I also have a dropper available.

I have an unused RockShox Reverb (125mm / 30.9x380mm / Left) available if anyone else is interested.

I upgraded my bike before I fitted the dropper and the new bike has a different diameter seatpost size

    Thanks, Rich

    It is similar to this:

I reckon Medium will be ideal.

I’m 5’10 and had to borrow a Spark 920 from Scott for final 4 days of the Transalp. They would have recommended me a Medium but as they only had a Small that is what I rode. It was absolutely fine. If I was buying I expect I’d go Medium.

If you like your 810 maps just copy it from the 810 to your PC and add to your 1000. Simples.

    This ^

Just copy/paste into Garmin/NewFiles and when you disconnect & turn it on it will create the course.

    I never use express, etc – I always copy/paste.

oooh you have the orange one like mine, id assumed you’d got the 2016.

Only really looked at 2015. I prefer the Orange, plus a hefty discount and the single chain ring make it sweeter still.

    Thanks all. First ride yesterday.

Lots of questions. First up, what tyre pressure is recommended for general trails? I went out at 12 psi?

Bad luck. Its a constant worry I am going to lose mine the same way.

Go for a Garmin 1000. And as they come with a leash losing it shouldn’t be a problem.

Did it last year. great event and they are mixing it up a little this year, starting from Switzerland (usually starts from Germany) and adding more singletrack.

Very well organised, logistics tend to work well.

You’ll want to be pretty fit, as its long days (6hrs) with plenty of climbing. But its fun.

Thanks all. What is the sizing like? What size v height.

I am 5’10 and was thinking of getting the 17.5

Is the 17.5″ the same as the Medium ?

Tempted to join the fat bike movement. But what to go for…

What would be the main differences between a Dune and a Genesis Caribou?

Pretty scary pictures at the top.

I recently went for these from Tweeks:
    http://www.tweekscycles.com/bike-accessories/front-lights/maia-mx2200-li-ion-front-light-system

Not had them long enough to assess fully but seem pretty good and good value – was hoping for uk quality at near china prices. We’ll see…

In anycase, I think I’ll be charging them in the garage and won’t leave them overnight !

Ok, so left it is… Top?

Or bottom? (and where does it go in relation to XT shifters?)

    Obviously? Why?

Which remote gets more use? Dropper or Suspension?

Do you put the one you use more on the left (and therefore opposite side to the the gears you use more)?

Ask the shop what they torqued the pedals to when they did the service…

Given that these are routes, why not use a mapping site? RideWithGPS or similar.

Either use a shared account , or individual accounts with rides #tagged for easy searching.

Thanks. It seemed to loosen but not undo. I realised I had errored and undid the top Allen bolt to remove Derailler.

When I refit the Derailler how tight should the 2nd Allen bolt/pivot be? i.e. Is it a bolt that sets something (like a limit screw) or a bolt that holds something (like, re, most bolts)?

Does it effect the tension/resistance or operation of the Derailler?

    Many thanks.

FYI I read that the issue is prevalent when following a RideWithGPS course.

The sticker on the rim says: 305/306 front, 307/305 rear.

It’s a DT Swiss Spline One 29″ mtb wheel.

Thanks. Will contact Dylan / Your Spokes.

Suspect I am going to go for 306mm and make-do if require shorter or longer.

Was racing for 7hrs this summer. Usually 2 feeds with fruit & water but no energy bars/drink.

I used camelbak but would like the option to go without.

I can fit a bottle on seat post, but not with a saddle bag (if much lower than in the attached picture it interferes with the rear suspension).

This summer I was carrying**: tube, levers, gas, mini-tool, tyre boot, whistle, phone, survival blanket, mech hanger, gels, energy powder, gilet. Too much for pockets.

Think top tube storage combined with pockets is probably the solution.

Quick question about the Pairs category. Are these ridden together? Or alternate laps?
