Heres my 2. The Palisades is what started it all for me. Got it for my 21st.
Bought the Team Marin later as dad had same year Pine Mountain I always hankered after.

Looked a bit like some 70’s TOTP/ Doctor Who special effects being applied.

Didn’t everyone have The Return of Bruno back when Moonlighting was the best show on tv?
Someone mentioned the Adventures. Just send my Heart was a top track.

Saw the last 3 songs of that programme. I guess cos they’re successful now they aren’t cool anymore in the eyes of the NMe but back when they broke with Final Straw it was ok to like them. I think they are amazing and Gary Lightbody is seriously underestimated as a songwriter and quirky front man. Give me them over Coldplay anyday. They were brilliant on this last tour as well.

Ok debut album in new persona. Does anyone know if the Lizzie grant album was in the same style?

Considering most new artists first albums rarely live up to the hype and are a crushing disappointment, I thought her album was refreshingly great and a good antidote to the mindless, meaningless pop of other current artists.

Watched the first 3 seasons then missed half of season 4 before I realised it was on so am waiting for a box set. I really like it but I don’t like the way series go on and on with no real resolution. It perhaps should have been 2 seasons long and then perhaps a movie at some point? Love all the geek fan boy references and Sarah when she worked at Wienerlicious!

my mum thought i was a reincarnation of hitler as i was scared of black people and liked blondes and used to hum the german national anthem at the age of 3 without them knowing where i might have heard it before.

Only throwback i have to that time now is my love of VW beetles.

not sure if it was irrational but biggest fear was threat of pending nuclear war which seemed to hang over us with public information films about taking your doors off and leaning them against a wall to create a shelter etc. Even childrens author Raymond Briggs was covering it in When the Wind Blows.
