I sympathise with you OP. Got back from a boarding holiday at the weekend and suffered like yourself, it’s not nice. Hope this helps!

I have the same fork and went for a Ragley Mmmbop. Long and slack with great geometry.

I’d buy a Ragley Mmmbop frame and go custom build. May need to use the classifieds to keep below£1000 though.

I used a KS Lev lever, the rocker type that attaches to an ODI lock on grip for the shapeshifter, and it was out of the way for the dropper post lever.

I bought one to help me get fitter. Can’t compare it to anything else but I love mine, comfortable, fast and cheap. You wont be disappointed.

Both look like they’ll be great bikes, but would like to see some bottle mounts. Even if it meant side entry cage and/or 500ml bottle only.

I have an Endurace and find it a nicer riding bike than my mates Ultimate, though his Ultegra Di2 is lovely.

What you need is made by Bike Yoke and it’s called Triggy. I have one fitted for my Lev and it mounts to the rear brake lever. Looks ace, works ace but is a little pricey.

I sent a shock from my Canyon Strive for a service as it didn’t feel right. It ended up badly worn internally and as it was only 5 months old T F T sent back to Fishers for warranty. Brand new shock for me with a small charge and minimal hassle. Pikes are in for a FAST damper upgrade as we speak. Always had great service from them.

A bit of carbon paste should do the trick.

Public Image Ltd. Aberdeen Capitol 1986. 2nd gig was Public Image Ltd Edinburgh Playhouse 1987. I managed to get a live CD of this gig off EBay a few years ago.

I’ve just bought a Road Race Apex waterproof jacket and it’s brilliant. If you’re between sizes go up as it seems a touch small.

Really like the reviews this bike is getting, but the only thing I think it lacks is space for a water bottle. Is there room or mounts?

I think there was a trail called Grannys back garden!

If I could be instantly transported to any trailhead, it would be La Varda. Rode it twice in 2007 and 2011. La Varda and Double Header are the two stand out trails in Les Arc for me.

I had a KS Lev, so used the front mech guides which gave better routing for using the lever on the left.

I’ve been thinking along the same lines as the OP. What about running 28 spokes in the front and 32 in the rear? Mavics are 24 spokes IIRC.

Julians review is exactly what I think. Marzocchis would without doubt be the better fork if it wasn’t for the weight. Not by much mind.

If Shimano shifter works on a Sram derailleur, then surely using Sram shifter on Shimano derailleur would work?

A big thanks to all the organisers and trail builders for giving us an awesome event. All 4 stages were great, kids races looked fun and the weather was nice, roll on next year.

Sidewalls are a bit thin for the rear IMO. Last year I ran Minion rear in EXO TR as did a friend and he kept ripping the sidewalls.

I find that every Fall album gets better with each listen. The latest one is a cracker. William Wray, Jetplane and Loadstones being the stand out tracks for me.

I did the first one back in 2005, never been back since so it’s on the list for next year.

Going 1×10 also means you can get a clutch type rear mech.
