That’s got to be a Pitch surely? Can’t see why you’d buy anything else

I was there today too riding a bright yellow ibis! It rides better with a bit of mud on it.

I walked past OPAs 575 demo bike twice and demoed a bronson and Nomad, I was underwhelmed by both and wish I’d tried the 575. It looks fantastic

As said above removing the spacer will steepen it, an angleset would slacken it but could also lower it. Longer forks would in theory higher the front end and slacken, could work well with an angleset.

How does the stumpy ride? I was seriously considering one but as you say it seems a little off in the angle department

You have to feel for them, they tried to create a British product made here and it hasn’t quite worked out. Get them built in Taiwan and get the sales back in and maybe try again with a hardtail built over here to start with.

My brother’s capra has just turned up and he has the same wheels, he had them on his Trek before. He put a tiny wobble in them at Tavistock and had the hub internals sheer on him. In france both wheels let go in one run in Les Gets, no dents just 6 broken spokes and completely unrideable. They cost £80 to fix but he’s leaving the mavics on for now to see if the newer batches are better.

As much as I’d like a spares box full of lovely bits I always sell all my spares and spend the money on what I want at that point in time so my current spares box has two broken mechs, an old stem and 2 tyres in

That said I wouldn’t mind a FF29 spare like Roverpig

Mojo HD frames sell for considerably more than £450 let alone with a CCDB. Split it if you need to sell it now, I was considering selling mine in the new year but it wont be going for £1500

Assuming I already I had a bike I’d spend the money on time off work, uplifts and gym membership. I’ve always rode my best when I’ve got my fitness higher and had the time to ride regularly I think that is the key for most people.

Out of the above I’d take the bike because I ride for fun more than anything but the coaching would make me faster on certain tracks I guess

Cheapest is 2×10 whereas the comp 1 (green) is 1×11, that’s probably the one I’ll be buying but the new colours and specs are due around January so worth holding off for them now.

I’ve got a mojo HD and I’ll be riding my brothers Capra pro in a few weeks so I’ll report back if you’re still interested? If it is the similar i’ll be ordering when the 2015 bikes come out

All credit to Rosberg on how he handled that. Not a huge Lewis fan but he has driven some epic races this year.

Top season that was, and I’m a big motogp fan.

If you’ve got a new girl in your life persue that for a bit. I love riding my bike more than pretty much anything else but I don’t ride all that often compared to some. I just ride my bike when I have time and I think “I fancy a quick spin”. Don’t make it a chore just leave the bikes there and ride them as and when you fancy. If you have a few maybe just sell them and get one nice one for when you do go out and spend the cash on other hobbys.

Just got back from a quick spin on the dog, Riding really well with no puddles at all really as this week has been fairly dry and windy. The rain is supposed to be coming in today so expect a few by sunday but it very rarely gets muddy. Go for it

    What else is there?

I meant if I were riding the usual stuff without DH days thrown in

I think my money would be with the Canyon Spectral if I was just riding natural stuff and trail centres.

Not long moved to Newport too (uni) and found nothing else yet however there looks to be some good stuff heading towards cwmcarn near the canal. Machen looks excellent too but I’ve not got up there yet. If you fancy a ride I could be up for it over the next few weeks.

I’m 2nd year university now and have had pretty mixed feelings about it all, I’m not in London though however as other have said it doesn’t have a very university feel to it. If she has any questions she wants answers to or things to consider feel free to send me an email (address in profile) and I’ll help where I can. I’d also tell her not to worry too much about the little money she’ll save living at home, it’s small in the grand scheme of things and living on campus can make or break uni. As I said feel free to send an email if needed.

Good to hear, the model i’m looking at isn’t CS which is why I’m considering the Monarch. I don’t have any real complaints about the Fox it’s just 140mm and I want to make the jump to 160mm. I spent a little time with the Monarch on a Newmad and it just did it’s job very well. Hmm decisons

Damn you beat my record, my bike lasted 5 days in Newport! Where abouts was it taken from.

I think a lot of people have missed the point here, out of everyone that applies Steve picks the guys or gals who he presumably knows he can train to the higest level. The entry fee covers the training, race support and the carbon bike which must be nearly that on its own. It’s not just a buy in for loaded IT specialists

Bike bag in the room does work well however, depending on where you’re going, I’d insure it too for when you’re out riding or grabbing a drink mid ride. I certainly don’t enjoy riding my bright yellow bike out of my accomodation into the city centre

Definately do insure it though and stick a recognized lock on it. I had mine stolen in my first year last year and unfortunately it wasn’t insured!

I’m in the same boat now, I’ve owned my 2012 for just over a year now bought from a fellow forum member. I never get tired of how solid it feels over drops and jumps yet it still so light it can be pedalled all day. The only thing edging me to change it is the slightly short TT for me as a prefer a longer frame, there isn’t much in it but i’d like an extra 2cm to ofset a 50mm stem. I rode a Bronson and the Newmad a few weeks back to back with the HD and the Mojo held it’s own. The Bronson felt harsh in comparison if a little quicker up hill.
