They gave you your deposit back and judging by the lack of ranting, hassle free. Maybe they just simply got it wrong and therefore refunded you. I’d consider that a honest mistake and wouldn’t be slating them on the internet.

I’m going to morzine in July with my brother. We’re both taking norco team dhs we picked up for £500 off ebay and we’ve got a ex5 and a stumpjumper for the XC / singletrack. As I think it’s been said, the Fuel EX you’ve got is plenty enough for XC here, Get a cheaper DH bike for the DH runs and to knock about and scratch. That would be the way I would go anyway

That’d be great thanks mate. Are they M775 or 776?

Sure it might cost a little bit more but IMO building a bike is such a fun and constructive thing to do. Well worth the possibilty of a little extra money. You’ll remember the time spent a lot more than what ever you spend the extra bit of money on.

Nylon strung and I forgot to mention second hand is what I was thinking

Probably spending a few hours in the shed scraping my knuckes and swearing at my over weight norco and trying to finally get it working perfectly. Then tidying the shed up and with a bit of luck settling down to a bit of drawing / Designing tomorow night.

Just bought a 2011 Elite. Only had chance to ride it once but i’m seriously impressed. Really well specced, feels stiff and fast and climbs similar to my old hardtail did. It’s nice having the brain constantly adjusting the shock for you.

I’ve been riding a pitch with 140mm air fox floats upfront and an air shock out back and it was fantastic on the trails. Climbed well for 140mm and decended like nothing else i’ve rode in it’s travel bracket.

A lot of people have also swapped the air fork and shock for a coil and some 160mm coil forks and used it for much more aggressive riding, Think Mega and gravity enduros etc. From what I experienced it’d be pretty much spot on for that too. The pitch is a pretty popular bike on here ( Search it in the forum search tool )

If you can afford it a Standard Pitch along with a spare FOX DHX and some lyrics for the rougher, uplift sort of riding would be a good set up.

Sorry for the long post and that I can’t comment on the other bikes. Hope my input helps you out.

God that looks stunning! I’ve been fighting an argue to buy a whippet frame for months now and this really isn’t helping. Got any ideas on weight?

Just picked up a 2011 Stumpjumper elite. I was in a similar situation, the remedy was a lot of money for the spec and the ’11 stumpy was on sale at £1800 – There was no contest VFM wise. If you’re interested, I had mine from bikescene and they were great.

I have yet to ride it, I’ll post again when I have but so far I am chuffed to bits with it, Looks great, brilliant spec and a real quality bike overall. It feels solid. On the other hand my mate rides a 2010 remedy 7 and I must admit thats a lovely bike too. The ride is smooth and as with the stumpy it’s a quality bike just slightly heavier and burlier.

    Hope that helped

I’d love a dropper and as soon as I get the cash I’ll be putting a Reverb on there. It’s got guides already built in for the cable too, Sweet. There was a lot of choice in my price range £1800 but VFM, looks and ride this was too hard to resist.

Monkey – Just a case of spining the stem round popping the front wheel and bars in. Everything Inc shocks and tires were done / pumped up to my weight, It’s a large and i’m just a smidge under 6ft. It feels lovely and I can’t wait to go ride! Stumpy i’ve got my brain in the same setting as you and it’s 2×10, Even better!

Edit – I can’t see the fallen tree, even looking in the garden. HELP?

Don’t throw them in the bin, I’m more than happy to take them off you for the cost of postage and a some yummy cake. They’d be a nice project for over winter.

I’d deffinately be changing the brakes and wheels however I’ve heard great things from both the pikes and sektors, i’ve rode neither so i’ll leave that for someone else to say.

Paisley freight – £23ish quid last time I checked and they used TNT for my bike.

If they’re produced it in the raw carbon with a hint of red like the venge mclaren edition it’d be jaw dropping.

Ran them since september. Worked great and barely noticed the extra drag over continental mountain kings except on long climbs. The grip was superb in thick mud and greasy rocks. Well impressed

It’s pretty local to me (Shenstone) and I usually link it into a canal ride and a loop back. It’s best to get up and have a look around. There are a fair few DH runs and plenty of singletrack. A chap I know has build some pretty big berms and jumps somewhere if thats your sort of thing. In Summary, Great for a short day or night ride :-)
