Thanks for the replies. I think what I was trying to say is i’d rather sell the two bikes now before the money falls off them and get something that can do both and put the rest of the money in the bank for when i’m finished. The bike would probably been kept under the bed locked up and taken home between terms. I would get a cheap roadie for getting around and fitness rides.

Hopefully Newport so plenty of decent trail and DH riding on the doorstep. I will get a cheapo hack for getting around and fitness however I am happy to take a decent do it all bike that will be locked up in my bedroom and taken home when I’m not there.

Me and my brother have both been thinkering with the ideal or moving to a smaller travel bike from our DH bikes with two shocks and two pairs of forks. If he likes the sound of a solid or giant give me a shout, we could be interested

Bloody hell thats nice. I shouldn’t really be saying this but what DH bikes is he into?

    As for valuation – 3k?

+3 for Paisley freight. Simple, cheap and very fast. Do it!

I’ve thought about doing it a few times on my glory. I dont race ATM so I quite fancy the idea of a bit more agility and a more playful nature. Whether or not it happens is another issue.

I had a top wheelset for my DH bike by the guys at mamouth cycles on Milford. The guys in there are super helpful and a great bunch.

I have the cheap lidi one that pops up in several forms and ive been pretty happy with it. It’s not the strongest but its held a 45lb norco dh bike off the ground constantly. If you can stretch to this : http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/xtreme-assembly-stand-s-1300—our-bestseller–/aid:22588/fromtopoffers:1

Get it. I bought one as a present for my brother and im pretty envious it’s solid as a rock and works a treat.

I wouldn’t worry about frame flex, my mate has one ans throws it around no issues at all.

He’s just moved house so the bikes have been put aside but i’m down in two weeks and we’ve got a long week of biking planned so we’ll pop in and say hi, i’ll try and get him to pull the trigger on a reverb he’s been after if you have one in!

I use the shop regularly when i’m down and my brother goes in quite often. I remember speaking to you in store and you mentioned owning a few nicolai’s so I put two and two togeather.

Easy one for me this week, Lovely little brook about 200m from my house. Shame the woods arent bigger, it’s only good for a little test ride.

Is there a particular decent you enjoy that has a few sections that you sometimes avoid as it looks too hard? Or even a nice bit of singletrack you enjoy but cant seem to “flow” on or dont feel your riding it fast enough?

I found that ‘sessioning’ a section of track really helped me build my skills. If you know whats coming up and you have a good idea of what speed you can hit it you have more mind space to think about what you and the bike are doing and therefore what you can improve on.

Alternatively some people find that following someone helps massively and can give a new insight into line choice, speed and body positioning.

I must admit my first thought when I saw it was – How much would I get for my bike and maybe i’ll see if I can get some overtime at work!

Either there was two rockets up there today so I saw you on tackeroo decent. You passed me waiting for a mate then I spotted the bike upside down at the trailside, I was on a black and white stumpy elite. Top marks on the build it was the nicest bike around too.

Sitting on my surfboard out behind the breakers watching the sunset takes some beating, Feeling the back end of my MTB loose grip and slide out then feeling it grip again is good too!

It’s so good to hear how well you guys are dealing with this. I know that whenever i’ve got trouble from now there will always be part of me that will take inspiration from you. I know it might not appropriate yet however it would be great for everyone to meet up and have a group ride!

All the guys and gals at Mammoth Cycles and Swinnerton Cycles Forest Centre have always been brilliant. So much so that when I’ve paid my holiday off I’ve decided that im going to go and spend over the odds on some new bars and stem rather than going to CRC. Which have been faultless too but i’d rather go in store.

£30 Would make me selling it pointless. I might just buy a new battery for it and hope for £50

I’ll send a picture now Josh.

I’d be keeping an eye on the neighbour. The thugs wouldn’t have known it was him who called so why wouldn’t he? He also presumably knows your bikes are in there? Not anything just sounds a little off too me. Glad your bikes are safe.

Ah so this is how they found out leather was good for motorcycle suits.

I’ve always wondered that too. I’d assume even if they applied new panels and valeted they’d be too mechanically damaged to sell on?
