Mindmap thanks for the offer, I’ll keep your address in mind for when i’ve got some free time.

I think I’m going to keep at it for a bit longer. I don’t think i’ll get the buzz some of you guys get but I’m ok with that if my fitness increases so i’ll enjoy my MTB more. I think when i’ve got more free time next week i’ll plan a longer ride with a nice stop half way, Maybe Ashbourne.

Might have to search out some long decents that does sounds appealing. Any around the Staffordshire area?

That was yesterdays ride which was fairly comfortable, certainly not sprinting all the way around. Too slow?

It’s not that I dont enjoy the fitness aspect, I purposely sprinted a small steep climb yesterday to improve my Strava score and everytime I go out I try to increase my average speed and strava position however I can see that I wont be as fast as the top guys whereas when I get to the top of Upper cliff at the chase I get the red mist and really enjoy improving my technique like cornering and jumps to get a faster segment. I just don’t get that on the road bike at all, I’m going to MTFU after my exam on friday and do my usual route at an average that makes me throw up I reckon. Whats a good average for 20miles?

From looking at their website i’d say they’d dropped transition

Swinnertons on the chase have had Transitions in from time to time and they’re pretty good with demos i’d give them a shout. They’ve got plenty of Santa Cruz in too.

Meet him at a local trail centre. Plenty of bikers around who can assist / give chase!

Definately are! I rememeber riding off down the track at full speed again thinking, maybe I should tone it down I won’t be so lucky next time

Had a pretty big OTB up the chase on some cheeky trails the other day. The bike hit me from behind so hard I had a headache from chomping my teeth together yet walked away without a stratch – Should have been so much worse considering the speed.

Nothing compared to yours though, you went through that jump!

Had thought of that but i’m looking to raise a bit of cash to support my sister.

    Is this a bit cynical…

The benefit is he’ll probably forget where he got the milk from and he’ll be easy to spot as the chap in the middle of the pavement face-down covered in ‘milk’

Drove an R8 briefly on a soaked track yesterday, The thing is a complete animal. Despite it hammering down I touched 100 down a tiny straight and blitzed a f430 from a hairpin, it cornered perfectly the 4 wheel drive system made everything so smooth – What a car. I’ve since spent the time looking for somewhere that does a longer track day, more than 2 laps. Can anyone help?

If your looking at Rock Shox Sektors same as what comes on the 214 I think check out this link – http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FORSSEKRL15/rockshox_sektor_rl_150mm_solo_air

If your pockets go a bit deeper have a look at the Rock Shox revelations on the same site!

Yeah, you’d need 140mm forks something like Fox Float RL140 or Rock Shox Sektor to get the right geometry and position.

If the Zesty is a bargain i’d go for it, They really are good frames. Pedal well, climb nicely and decent like a little all mountain bike. You’d be able to move some of your cannondale gear across which will make it a little cheaper.

I’d have told the chap in front to bring it round to mine and i’ll fix it up for you for a quarter of that and quicker – It’s be worth it for the chaps expression.

I started a few years back and only surf on holidays because I live in the Midlands but I love it. As others have said keep a bike handy for when there is no break or if you can’t get in and swim it’ll improve your surfing massively. If you decide to buy a suit i’m selling a Alder Burn 5/4 in Large for a decent price – Feel free to email me.

What I want to know why GT don’t pay him enough to pay for a uplift – Poor chap

Best DH Video i’ve seen for ages, I was starting to bore of the Pyjama crew whipping everywhere.

For a first road ride i’d say that was epic – Hats off to you. I did my first road ride on friday. Managed 25 miles in 1:45 and finished with a ruined lower back and sore legs. Can’t wait for exams to be finished so I can get out and improve!

No promises but I might be able to help out, I’m not far from Stafford at all. Could possibly post it on to you or I will be down Cornwall/Devon in a month

My brother has the air fork and cant rate it highly enough. I’ve ridden it and its stiff, so plush and controlled. I have Fox 32 Rl on my bike and i’d say their are easily on a par with them – Great fork of the cash.

Cardinham is far better than anything Cornwall had previously and considering its their first effort its a really fun XC blue run. There is plenty of scope for longer loops and red and black XC runs, if what the forestry commision allow on the chase by me is anything to go by it can only get better. As for the comparison to Gawton, that is a full on DH site and Super-Tavi and Eygpt are easily on a par with the hardest stuff ive ridden in the alps or anywhere else in the UK – Not a fair comparison with a blue XC run.

Whilst I agree with Hora’s and other’s views I think the biggest loosers are the victim’s family and friends tonight. I think it’s about time we stop arguing when facts aren’t clear and respect the poor chap.

If you feel the need to discuss the matter do it tomorrow when the details are clearer.

    RIP

If you don’t get a decent reply from a shop soon feel free to email me because I think £600 is steep. I live a a bit of a trip way away but I know a few very good shops by me so I’d happily strip the bike, send it off for a respray, order the parts and come back a rebuild if it helps out and you cant find anywhere decent or someone closer.
