My connection to him is that I gave him £700 and he posted me my frame the next day. He’s also spent weeks helping me sort out my shock (being a Curnutt it’s not too simple). I’ve also spoken to him on numerous occasions. (and I’m not that new – I had to re-register when the site was hacked)

Also IWH offered to post me his air Curnutt shock (without asking for a deposit) so that I could ride my bike whilst trying to set my shock up. … again not like scammers to offer to post a £600 shock to someone he’s never met, is it?

Yes IWH sourced a Ti spring for me at the sea otter.. what of it? Having trusted him with £700 have I any reason to assume I shall get ripped off?

That in addition to having his bank account details, address etc – if it came down to it he wouldn’t be hard to trace.

I think those who haven’t had any direct dealings with IWH have no right to comment personally.

As I mentioned before.. if that were the case why did he not take my £700 – would have been very very easy to do it.

Also not too common for scammers to give you their address, bank details, phone numbers, email, mobile number quite so freely and answer every call, text or email strsight away.

Is it?

It would have been the easiest thing in the world for him to have taken my money, don’t you agree?

Interesting how no-one seems to have noticed that IWH was talking of going to the Police re the threats made to him.

Not generally something a serial scammer would want to do, is it?

I genuinely believe IWH to be a good guy and simply don’t understand why he didn’t take my £700 and run if he was intent on ripping people off.

I’ve been in contact via text and IWH apologises but isn’t able to get online at all at the moment to answer your queries.

I know for a fact that he has some serious family issues to deal with and as such it’s not a suprise to me that he can’t get online tbh.

I too am waiting for something IWH sourced from the US for me but I have every faith in receiving as I did my frame just over a month or so ago.

He’s assured me that he’ll attend to everything as soon as he’s able to.

Lungman – I don’t think IWH is Bigdutch (Lee Anderson-scott) unless of course he has two seperate legally named bank accounts.

I can assure you it was not that name that I paid my £700 into.

If IWH really is in the business of ripping people off then why did he not take the £700 I gave him for my frame and do a runner?

In the interest of balance I’d like to point out that I recently
bought an expensive frame from IWH which was delivered very quickly indeed.

The guy’s been nothing but helpful to me and went way beyond on the call of duty in helping me set up my shock / solve a problem I had (one I caused myself). This was before IWH personal issues as I understand it.

I can appreciate people’s frustrations I really can. However, I’d like to make it clear that he’s not a serial scammer as people seem to suggest.

To be honest I think we should give the guy a bit of a break; as it’s being mentioned he’s organised a group road trip on BikeMagic, at his own expense. He’s certainly not in the business of ripping people off.

I too am thinking about a change of career, into teaching. Personally I’m going to write to a few schools to see if I can sit on a week’s science teaching to get a feel for it before I jump straight into a PGCE.

Science / Engineering / Technology PGCE’s and the like often have significant government bursaries that you can apply for – makes re-training a little easier.

Also consider the Graduate Teaching Programme (or whatever it’s called) where you actually go into a class from day one and complete the qualification as you work.

When we descended Snowdon last year we were called “Murderers” by some crazed female rambler…
