that may well have been lots bridge..

ah well you see.. Lots Bridge aint on any maps.

The locals know it's there though. It does make it tricky for delivery drivers however….

If you search for Three Holes and go south a bit and lool for the cross road of silt road and half penny toll road – that's Lots bridge.

    There's about six houses….

ooh welches dam!! There's a nice bird reserve there – you can look across welney wash and see ely cathedral. . .

You can also get pissed on fosters in one of the bird hides and have a quick fumble and a snog in the dark, when you're 17. .

    . . So I hear . . Ahem

hmm… Lots bridge, Three Holes (about 8 miles from the metropolis of March!) – a little way from Guyhirn I guess..

Lord knows how I ended up being a Mountain Biker being bought up in the flatest part of the country?!

I can remember frantically pedalling my first proper bike (muddy fox) down farm tracks in the hope of getting a small amount of air or just some sort of thrill at all ….

    My Sofa's from DFS :-(

It was " half price" ho ho

Are you saying that Mojo won't warranty it unless I wipe clean the leather at 25hr intervals or after every ride? :-S

I'm in need of some forks for my Foes FXR and was tempted by both the Fox 32 15mm jobbies and the new 150mm RS Revs.

Thing is I think both (like on your AS-X) are going to look a bit skinny on my bike??

oops – I said " rangers" but I meant llanberis or however you spell it.. :-S

Yep Si offered me a very, very good price on the Float 36 RC2's – unfortunately I didn't ever manage to get the cash together :-(

We did the ranger's twice and was excellent the first time when there were fewer ramblers on it – we really could let rip and enjoyt it.

The second time however, despite being outside of the Cycling Ban we got totally bogged down in red socks.

My mate even got shouted at and accused of "nearly murdering" a rambler that we passed about 8 foot away from at a fairly slow pace..

Yup the lense looks very good considering it is after all, a phone!

I've not had a chance to test it properly outdoors yet but I reckon it really is as good as some proper digital cameras.

The flash is a proper xenon one too so it's much better at taking pics in the half-light / dark than most mobiles.

The only thing that irritates me about the phone is that it doesn't have a 3.5mm phono socket (you have to plug in a sony adapter thingy, included before you can use other headphones – a minor issue really)

I've just got the Sony Ericsson Satio and first impressions are very good.

Yes it is fairly large but then again it's not that bad considering it's got every feature under the sun and a AMAZING 12MP camera (and I mean it's really very good regardless of the MP).

Also I've been very, pleasantly surprised with the battery life. Most other smart phones I've owned have falled on their @rse after 24hrs use but this is going stronger and longer…

..well worth a look (also comes with free sat nav software Orange maps on er… Orange tarifs)

    Cheers forgotmename!

It's interesting in that my stroke looks the same as grumpyStevo's – either I've got a 5''er or he's got a 6''er too!?

If the shock stroke includes the bumper does that not inhibit the last inch of stroke of the shock considerably? The bumper seems quite firm..

Hi jamie. The only number I can find on the frame is

    L6635

. . Seems a bit short but I guess foes make smaller batches of bikes than most people?!

Cheers Jamie – I'll have a look tonight and email you in the morning.

(btw YGM to do with my shock service back in May/June..thanks!)

    GrumpyStevo- cheers for your help.

It's intriguing in that it if mine is a 6''er then the shock still appears to have the same stroke as yours… although like Jamie says the internal wotsit could reduce the total travel.

What I don't understand is why the 5'' travel version wouldn't have either a larger bumper or a shorter stroke?

If the bumper is in the same place for 5'' and 6'' models then it would only be actually used on the 6'' er?

    Confused :-S

(and yes, duckman.. indeed – it took a lot of people on here several months to believe me not to be IWH/Hamish :-/ )

jamie- its the fxr with seat tower bit as per 06 and 07 models.

I dont understand why my stroke from seal to bumper is same as steve's if mine is a six incher?

Thing is jamie – would the bike use the final inch of travel if last inch of stroke is entirely through the bumper??

    RopeyReignRider
    Free Member

hmmm – mine's got the same stroke as yours steve but the eye-to-eye is about 11 and 1/3rd. . . It does sound howevers that I've been **** over yet again by hamish as it looks like it is the five inch version and not the six as it was sold as !
does explain why the last inch of travel seems impossible to get :-(

    RopeyReignRider

cheers! And is yours definitely the 5 inch travel version??!!

    RopeyReignRider

    cheers!

Could you also measure the eye-to-eye length of the shock (if you have a ruler bigger enough ;-) )

    RopeyReignRider
    Free Member

GrumpyStevo – could you do me a favour?

Any chance you could measure the stroke to the top of the yellow bottom-out bumper?

Tbh I thought they only did a few 5'' versions in 2006.. confused :-S

    RopeyReignRider

Hi Si, yeah I know – tis a bit weird tbh. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had flogged me the 5'' version and lied about it :-(

If it is a 5''er it just goes to show how effective it is – feels like a 6''er!

    thanks ChunkyMTB.. :-)

one_happy_hippy – I have talked to Jamie about it before but it just told me to remove the spring, compress shock and measure stroke.

However, because of the chunky half-inch bottom-out bumber I can only ever compress the shock about 65mm (which would equate to 5'' travel).

SO.. I don't know if the FXR is designed to use it's last half inch of stroke (and hence inch of travel) through the squishing of the bumper??

It doesn't seem right to me – you'd never get into the final inch of travel unless you ****tted something hard!
