Yep, I think that the 2010 Lyrik Solo DH Air (with mission control DH) is effectively the same fork as the 2011 RC2DH ones!?

As for bargains, yep – from Merlin bought last night!

    They have

the solo air DH 170mm ones I’m getting for £540

2-step air for about the same

    and coil for about £500

Do you happen to know about how to get spacers to reduce travel? I really want a bit less, maybe spacer down to 160mm..

    Ok thanks Rob, I’ll have a think / browse/think!

*laughs at 160mm fork swap-shop appearing*

Thanks for the offers guys, I don’t get on with coil forks as I seem to always be between spring weights!

    any opinions on those listed?!

    Yeah I know, I know!

Tbh I’ll not be so precious about it wants it’s been dropped a few
Times but at the moment it looks rather special ( works red tracer)

Is biketart the best place to get it then?

Does it vary much from brand to brand?

Thanks Trevor, I’ve just got to decide which forks I’m getting and then I’ll know if I need the 1.5 headset or not!

    I’ll let you know, ta

Surely for the descents you’d have your @rse off the saddle anyway so it wouldn’t make much difference?

Lots of techy fun but not very long. Certainly worth a visit though!

Those discounted Blur LT2’s are a flippin bargain!

I’d be getting one of those and building it up with a few secondhand bits, if it were me!

The new 2011 Intense Tracer 2 …. Looks very very tasty indeed.

If you’re after a Large this Intense Tracer is worth a look (virtually identical geometry and VPP2 suspension to Blur LT2)

    Used only a dozen times

Have you actually ridden the blur LT2 though, with VPP2??

It’s totally different to the original blur so don’t base your decision on test riding an old 2007 one!

I’ve not tried the YETI but my mates Blur LT2 felt fantastic being thrashed down some seriously rocky descents in the Peaks.

I’ve just gone and got an Intense Tracer VP as I loved the feel of the VPP
2 as shared by the tracer and blur.

As there’s a Tracer 2 coming out soon there are some bargains about on the original..

Cool, which ones did you get Si? Do they have travel adjust etc?

(not that I’d use it much really)

    RopeyReignRider

But I’d need something of a known angle to calibrate it against wouldn’t I?

    RopeyReignRider

Cool, cheers si! Is it fairly accurate do you know?

Can anyone recommend a decent iPhone angle measuring app?

I realise they’re not hugely accurate but I’d be interested to see all the same..

Strangely mine came with an adapter for a grease gun…fro

    Well it turned up today.

Works red really does look lovely in real life although I think it’s a Marmite colour!

TheSwede – can you let me know if yours came with a grease gun.

    Mine hasn’t :-(

(it’s also missing the Easton sticker from the seat tube damn it!)

simon – yeah that’s a good point. I sometimes just get carried away with people going on ” blah 160mm travel as much as DH bikes from a few years back, blah what’s the point blah”

TheSwede – cool, I’d be interested certainly to hear what it comes in at!

There were some revelation bargains still

Oh, sorry I didn’t realise it was tapered!

    RopeyReignRider

And you’re right – it will be mostly used for thumping into big rocks so I guess a bigger fork makes sense!

Yeah but your frame is at least a pound lighter than mine Si!

You’re probably right though – 36s or lyrics would feel a whole lot nicer in the rough stuff and I didn’t really suffer with them on the reign!

I just wonder if trail centres etc are going to feel dead with big forks?

There’s enough rocks and fast descents to make use of them out in the peaks mind ..

    RopeyReignRider

Curly68 – surely sticking it in the longer travel mode slackens it out instead of making it more twitchy?!

Any idea what sort of head angle it is with a 150mm rev then?

Are Intense’s quoted geometries based on fox forks? I know the rev is a bit taller than the equivalent fox ..

    RopeyReignRider

Yeah I guess it depends on the sort of riding you do.

    Anyone else got any thoughts??

    RopeyReignRider

Hmm I've heard it feels better with a 160mm fork but can't help noticing some RS revs for £300!

How do you find it at trail centres with a bigger fork btw?

    RopeyReignRider
    Free Member

Yeah I spotted those fox's – only issue though is finding a suitable stem for 1.5 steerer tube.

They're also about 1.25lbs heavier than a RS Rev.

I'm not sure if that 36 talas would be too steep and twitchy in 130mm mode for flat bits and trail centres etc?!

    RopeyReignRider

Cheers guys, I'm not really sure why the tracer has 1.5'' head tube …

There's a new Intense Tracer out for 2011 too.

    It's certainly worth considering ..

cool, that 36 TALAS looks a bit of a bargain, and the Lyrics aren't bad either..
