If there was a sign saying “don’t park on this small triangle of dirt with a few bushes on it” then I would expect to pay a fine!

£100 for no signage at all?! The car park next to me got got too :-/

Well I must admit I’m a bit confused as to what they can and can’t do. It’s not like I was even in a supermarket carpark for example. How do I know if the landowner has even sanctioned/approved these people?!

HSBC might well be interested given that they’re a bit global.

Rats?! Contentious perhaps but they’re intelligent (relatively), sociable and robust. Downsides = they can smell a little and do require cleaning out every so often.

Hmm, is the Mountain Equipment one a decent enough cut for biking? I have orang utan arms :-/

    Well…

Mini RRR turned up on the 30th Dec and 2 weeks early after the Mrs RRR was admitted for a week just before Christmas.

I can confirm that NHS Christmas dinner is in actual fact several orders of magnitude worse than you might think it is.

We now have a living room, a sort of bathroom (we paid wickes ££££ to install a new bathroom and they in return provided 12 weeks of stress, no less than 3 leaks and a resultant destroyed kitchen), and 2 bedrooms. Only sproglet’s room and a landing to complete…

I have noticed grey hairs are appearing though :-/

Decent runflats are a lot different to those that BMW first equipped their cars with. I have Bridgestone Potenza something or other runflats on my 3 series coupe (firmer suspension than the saloon or estate) and they’re fine comfort wise.

It’s also worth noting that swapping to non runflats can invalidate your warranty and seriously **** up stopping distances (one of the big magazines did a test on this I recall).

I was once sat around the kitchen table in my now wife’s old student house, with her and a friend.

I heard someone loudly stomp up the stairs and looked at my wife’s friend who looked at me and seemed to acknowledge she heard it too. We then decided to check who was in the house, searching all rooms, even cupboards.

There was only the three of us. I was weirded out and I’m quite a sceptical scientific type..

Ask1974 – just a little point but soundstage and imaging are nearly always linked to phase distortion or rather shift/time smear (or lack of it) amongst other things. It’s not something hifi companies generally like to talk about or advertise figures for but can have a massive effect. Speaker manufacturers like to publish a lovely “flat” frequency response graph yet don’t want to discuss phase.

I’m going to gracefully bog off out of this discussion now :-)

Have you thought of increasing your budget at all?

I’ve just got 1 gig of data, 700 mins and unlimited texts from T Mobile for £8.50 a month. I think it’s usually £11 which is still a flippin bargain!

I wouldn’t discount smaller engines petrol Bimmers if you can find one within budget.

My 320i does 30mpg around town and around 45mpg on a motorway run. It also has a bit of poke to it should the fancy arise..

I bought these when Merlin were offering them for £50 ish with some shimano SPD pedals.

I rode coast to coast in the autumn in them plus half a dozen other rides and they seem darn good value tbh. Obviously they’re not real leather and might be a bit breezy in the winter but for the price I don’t think you can go wrong!

    Interesting this

We have the same problem here where the road is a 30 limit , is straight for about half a mile and is sandwiched between two 40 m.p.h. zones. It doesn’t help that it’s impossible to get to the bypass that er bypasses our village and the next, hence people living in the villages just floor it.

How do you find out who to pester?!

What type of input did you test the leads with?

Phono level is significantly lower than say a CD player or MP3 player so will always be subsceptible to a higher degree of noise.

Ohhh, I’d forgotten that my current bike now has the wrong sized wheels (archaic 26″).

I suppose riding buddies might motivate me.. Hmm

Well, I do have half a hardtail – boardman comp thingy that’s not had forks or brakes for the last 2 and a bit years. Perhaps you’re right, I should get that going…

£820 ish all-in for us. I’d suggest going with one recommended by friends and family rather than yellow pages/google roulette or merely the cheapest!

My local Oxfam took a couple of hundred videos from me. They said they could send them for recycling if they couldn’t sell them. I don’t think many other charity shops take them though.

Both London and Country and John Charcol told mrs RRR and I that we had no chance of getting a mortgage.

We then went to mrs RRR’s bank and they gave us a mortgage

I didn’t notice the uncomfortable beds but then again rather a lot of ale was consumed whenever not on the bike or driving. I think I went in 2012 last..

How many of you are there?

If you fancy that Scotland (specifically Glentress and Innerleithen) then this place is a good bet. It’s close to Peebles but perhaps a bit of a trek from the pub (taxis know where it is though).

Me too. IOS7 and this is the only site it ever happens on. I’ve just been redirected to a William Hill app in the AppStore 3 times in the last ten minutes.

The obvious answer would be for STW to remove the offending adds or add stream but I guess that wouldn’t please the bean counters :-/

Is the connector block ok just sat floating around in the back box bit of the socket or does it need insulation taping?

I’ve got some 2.5mm cable, presumably that’s ok?

It’s an old 1930’s brick and plaster wall.

I tried tugging but nothing happened and I don’t want to tug too hard for fear of pulling the wire out of the wall all the way up!

I’ve tried using a different apertures but to no avail :-/

Thanks guys. I fear that it’s going to get complicated as I’ve paid the fitters some cash directly (and the claim the rest from the store) , have paid a deposit to the store and have the remainder to pay as a low cost finance agreement.

I am now wondering whether I should contact their head office directly but am waiting for the store manager to get back to me.
