The invoice is hand written and just says

“patchwork , felt roof extension, new felt

    12 month guarantee “

I’m not sure whether it’s a reasonable assumption or not but my parents assumed they’d have a water tight roof for a bit at least.

My parents have very little money, live in a fairly isolated location and my dad’s stuck in hospital so it’s all quite a challenge to the least, trying to arrange things from 60 miles away.

Anyone know any friendly roofers near market Rasen?!

    Interesting and reasonable points.

As far as i know the £500 was for a patch repair , the roof is ground floor so only requires a small ladder etc.

I guess my main question is – is it reasonable for the roofer to say it’s definitely not his work that has failed, without seeing it?

Thanks, any of you guys have cars with a shark

fin aerial? I was just wondering how 3 bikes will fit around if?

    Thanks,

I’m thinking of getting the 3 bike version for myself and mini RRR 1&2 .

Anything to consider having 3 bikes on the roof?

^^ I guess I just worry about mismatched grip rather than one spinning faster than the other 🙂

    It’s Arn0ld Cl@rk (yes, I know, now at least).

I don’t think they’d give me any cash as the cheapy ones probably don’t cost them much at all.

(presumably new ones on back as understeer generally safer than oversteer *opens can of worms and stands back* )

    Thanks Troutwrestler

re swapping them over – why’s that?

    ** I have a further tyre issue..**

I should have noticed but have only just realised that the rear tyres on my 2017 5 series are different brands (Dunlop and Goodyear). I bought the car from a “reputable” dealer in November. I’ve driven about 2000 miles since then with no issues but I’m a bit surprised as didn’t think this was considered to be a good idea generally. Unlike on the Astra they’re pretty expensive tyres too :-/ Whaddya think?

    Well.

Thanks guys. It’s all your fault.

The idea of an old Citroen was binned, the budget completely ignored/exceeded. Mrs RRR is totally fed up of car discussions, viewing cars etc

5 series touring to be collected and an acknowledgment that I will never have skin on my knuckles ever again (ie trying to buckle in 3 car seats).

    🧐😬 🚙

    Thanks all

I do like the idea of a big estate but the Mazda above (and most) are almost impossible to get 3 child seats/boosters in. The 5 series might just be do able..

Re the Zafira – I had thought about that but how do they compare size wise to the Citroen grand wotsits and S Max? Some reviews say the middle seat isn’t full size so I’m guessing they’re a little narrower?

Hmmm Berlingos do seem a bit too vanny and perhaps a bit small.

I’m the best part of 6’3” and the two bigger mini RRR’s aren’t small despite being only 8 and 6. We also have a paddle board to accommodate on holidays.. oh and Mrs RRR and mini mini RRR (11 months).

I’m trying hard not to persuade myself that I could just get a 5 series, central belted baby seat and stuff the other two either side …

(Can you tell I miss my old 3 series?)

Hmmm thanks . Seems the Citroen could be a bit hit or miss.

I had a bargain Mundano that I bought for £2900 at 100k miles, and put 40k miles with only servicing and brakes doing , so I’m perhaps more comfortable with an SMax. H

However, it seems wrong spending 7 or 8 thousand on a 10 yr old car 🤔

I could get a very cheap SMax if we waited but was planning on a cheap loan : finance hence have some age / mileage restrictions possibly..

Sup surfing sounds amazing (eating sand less so). I know nothing about it but assume my bus sized touring sup won’t be too suitable for it?

    Soooo

    I’ve ended up ordering a Gladiator Pro 12’6” T

I’ve no idea if it’s any good but it’s long, has no weight limit (apparently),
Comes with all the gubbins and most importantly is red and black!

Buoyancy aid gotten for me and 100N life jackets for the boys . Wet suits on the way and lakes accommodation booked.

Really hope mini RRR’s 1&2 actually retain interest..

On the theme of wetsuits – what thickness should I be aiming for, given ullswater isn’t too warm?

Hmmm just had a look in decathlon and they only have quite small SUPs. Their inflatable kayaks look ok but no idea how much of a sail they’d be in a breeze…

I heard about the missing paddle boarder :-(

Is it just cold water shock and lack of safety gear when these things happen?

    RopeyReignRider

    thanks everyone.

So if I was to make a rash purchase of a phat SUP for example. Where should I be looking if not wanting to spend more than £300 to £400, or am I only going to get junk for that? I’ve got to account for wet suits and life jackets etc..

    Decathlon?

Boats are a good shout but I kind of want to be a bit more in the water if that makes sense?

I don’t want to spend a fortune but fancy something that’ll let me have an adventure with the boys but also perhaps escape on my own for paddle if I can..

We weren’t planning on camping on the island (although that would be amazing), just paddle across, explore and paddle back.

Thanks, just to clarify I was intending for the boys to just sit on the SUP, tbh I might just be kneeling if they’re a pain with balancing etc.

I think the problem is I want both a SUP for me and a kayak for the kids…

Yes I’m not too sure about the multimac either.

Hot_fiat – ah thanks. I couldn’t see a price on the site – have you a ball park figure?

We (stupidly perhaps) bought massive (but apparently very safe) Cybex seats for mini RRR1 and 2. Since mini RRR3’s appearance in November we’ve struggled more than a bit.

We’re currently struggling even more as my Mundano died and we’ve been squeezed into an Astra which is neither fun nor safe. As I’m about to start work after a mid life crisis of being a manky student, funds are tight but new seats a lot cheaper than a different car.

I used to have a couple of vaguely “fun” bimmers so am desperately hoping that we don’t have to go all Ford Galaxy about it when I do have some money (would much rather have a 5 series or something if there was a safe option that didn’t involve a £2k multimac!)

Re cable guides – reckon generic ones will correct bolt diameter?

    RopeyReignRider
    Free Member

    Thanks guys

It seems I could have another problem now however – I forgot that for reasons known only to Intense on my model year bike the internal routing is only semi-internal – it pops out on the front of the seat post and then is supposed to be attached to cable guides that screw into the frame.

However, unsurprisingly I cant find the cable guides anywhere…

I could buy another external post but the cable loop getting caught on my feet/tyre was the main reason for a new post..

^^^ hmmm I was wondering about that haven’t got a post to test with (tape measure may still go in but could be bends in seat tube etc)

Look at you guys with your flashy new motors.

I recently was forced to buy the only car I could get for the scrap value of my dead Mundano -£550 so a 22yr old VW Polo.

83k on the clock, slow , noisy (especially around left hand bends) and I don’t fit in it all (see previous threads)

I recently had to collect mini RRR V2.0 from his friend parents £1.2M house .. i felt a little self conscious :-/

If only we were in 2016 when I bought the bike and my head angle was fine 🤔😉

Thanks Robz. Which lines would you recommend for a competent trail rider (with previous ideas of DH grandeur) accompanied by a relative new trail rider?
