I thought BT (v2) had a range of 30feet? which would be just about ok. I know my incar bluetooth picks up my phone in the house. I think data streaming is somewhere between 1mbit to 3mbit/second.

I was earning £350 per day on fairly long contracts 5-6 years ago.. Now i’m earning around the £40k bracket and i’m quite happy with it. I’ve moved around with my skills, from developing in c, vb6 to pre-sales, then sales, then back to technical consultant and now prof services and coding again in Perl (hate) and vb6.0 (just about remember). I’ll get into .net (vb2008/c#) as soon as I can.

    well done robdob!

    1) 12 mile commute shouldn’t be too bad, depends how bike friendly the A62 is.
just take it easy and add quite a bit of extra time (maybe an extra 30 minutes). I’m looking at occasional commute across manchester 18 miles, downhill to work and uphill all the way home!

    2) they’re concrete or metal boxes with windows. People go there to work together. A bit like a shop, but without customers, having to stand up all day and limited tea breaks.

You’ll be fine, offices are great as long as there aren’t any politics involved and the group of people you are working with are nice.

    Enjoy it.

I think another corgi registered heating engineer can do a landlord’s check, and that will suffice.

it’s fine on my pc. firefox 3.0.8 and ie7. It’s not quite as impressive as the rollover page peels, but not bad as a first attempt.

Etna shots are fab. Do people still really live in the shadow of it?

    Yes, the land is fertile.

another good thing to do is to buy a large chicken (roasted) or a large piece of beef, have it for sunday lunch. Put the left overs in the fridge and then use in risotto during the early part of the week.

    sausage pasta –

dice 1x medium onion, fry until translucent.
De-skin 4-6 sausages (or use sausage meat) chop up roughly to the size of maltesers and brown off, add some stock and simmer.

add some grated carrot and chopped tomatoes (1 or 2 tins) with a little puree or tomato ketchup to taste and continue to simmer

cook some macaroni tubes in another pan and once all cooked, drain pasta and mix with sauce, serve, sprinkle with black pepper and parmesan.

apologies if measurements are a little rough, but I tend to chuck ingredients in without measuring

and, as mastiles said, this is a good freezer food.

definitely do it standing up, there’ll be less pressure on your diaghram, so if you’re feeling tense, you should be ok, less breathy..

write down some bullet points on card with lots of space between them so they can be scanned through really quickly

    and finally, good luck!

Wors – They’re Sun CR18’s. I had problems with some conti explorers 2.1 kevlar beaded tyres too..

The tyres went on ok, but I did have tubes that were designed for the wider tyres… that may be one of the reasons.

took me 90 minutes last night to get my fire xc pro off the rim. then pinched the tube putting it back on again. Not impressed.

Try a drop of fairy liquid on your finger then run round the tyre bead. Should help next time.

I couldn’t even get the tyre levers under the bead!

I quite enjoy the building up of a bike from parts, but I absolutely HATE changing tyres, I seem to be completely and utterly incompetent at it.

Well it is good news, but she doesn’t really want her job back now as she does’t feel she can go back to such a small office (even thoug her boss has been sacked).

But surely in the current climate, it’s a job. Could she ride it out and then look for another job once the economy has picked up?

    It’s good news.

and now for the meeting where Hamilton gets banned for lying

Hamilton has already been punished & will face no other sanctions
McLaren on the other hand ………….

You would hope that this will be the case, but you never know with the FIA, they aren’t overly friendly with McLaren..

you can’t haggle in car showrooms at the moment, they’re being sooo tight it’s unbelievable!

You are joking right, at the moment they’re having trouble giving cars away.

I wish I was! Two different dealerships, first ones were totally taking the pi$$. Second ones weren’t as bad so we bought from there.

We wanted £1000 off the screen price of the first one, a 2008 Astra Sport £9995 and they offered £250 maximum and we HAD to pay an admin fee to buy the car… Jokers.
