F40 LM or standard F40. If you’ve seen one on the road they’re simply stunning.
I have no idea what a F40 LM or standard F40 is. But judging from that red monstrosity you’ve posted immediately after this statement, it can’t be very nice. That red thing – ugly as sin. it’s got all holes all over it too. Corrosion?

The LM was a Le Mans Special (Or at least a full race car), as with the Mclaren F1, which had an LM evolution of a longer rear clamshell.

solamanda, I would have to agree about the F40…

Other cars that look amazing, when seen on the road are…

Porsche GT and Ferrari F50s, usually seen on the M40!

and a Gumpbert Apollo on Edenfield Bypass!

But I’d love a Karmann Ghia

    Or a MG B Roadster

    Or a Metro 6R4

    Or an original M3

Or a… *sigh* never going to happen!

Hi Richard, that’d be great (my email address is in my profile)..

I live a bit further up from the Black Dog, so can join in from there!

But evening rides would be perfect (kids etc!)

an acronym for riding across the countryside ?

Sorry, could someone please explain countryside?

Don’t we all ride on the footpath and do dropoffs from the kerb to the road? 😀

It’s a bit of a bonus that the cleaners are two 21 year old girls who prefer working in lycra and gym gear rather than an old dear in an apron. For the stainless steel range, I’m told baby oil is the thing to make them look good

the cleaners or the oven? 😉

Here’s the full news article –

The voters of Greater Manchester paid more than £2.2m to throw out congestion charge plans in last month’s referendum.

And the returning officer, who spent 26 days in the area, was paid a £10,000 bonus on top of the agreed £600 a day as a reward for his “oversight, accessibility and overall accountability for the referendum process”.

The costs are part of the overall £24.1m bill to be shared by Rochdale and the nine other districts of Greater Manchester for the aborted Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) bid which was killed off by the overwhelming No vote in the poll.

Each of the 10 local authorities has been invoiced directly by Electoral Reform Services for the £1.7m costs of producing, distributing, and counting postal votes, including postage costs. Another £500,000 of central referendum costs — including the returning officer’s fees — will be divided between the 10 councils according to their populations.

Elections expert Sir Neil McIntosh will receive £25,600 plus expenses for his services as returning officer. More than £51,000 was spent on staff for Sir Neil and another £10,365 on travel and subsistence for him and his staff.

After the result, Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon made it clear that without congestion charging, there would be no TIF money for Greater Manchester. But figures produced by Manchester City Council chief executive Sir Howard Bernstein for council leaders show that a large part of the £24 million cost went on justifying plans to civil servants.

TIF activities of dozens of officials and consultants were halted a week after the referendum result, when town hall leaders formally agreed to abandon the process. They are now trying to persuade the Government to rescue some of the projects which were dependent on a Yes vote.

One AGMA insider said: “Greater Manchester has done a lot of work which the Department can now use to test the plans of other areas. There is a feeling that we deserve some recognition for that.”

may I recommend This. I’ve got the 2007 version afik it’s just a different colour scheme.

Rides great, nice and reliable. Only had to replace the rear mech and shifters due to a mechanical. Forks are OK, but worth upgrading long-term.

I’ve got a remington 730i BMW design, or something like that… It’s ok for the cheeks and round the mouth, but for around the neck it’s savage. Takes 3 days for the rash to clear up afterwards..

Nasty piece of kit. Wetshaves again now.

I’ll be looking to replace my Dart’s with some MX Comps. They look like a good second hand fork.

I’ve not really had many issues with them, but they are a little dull in reacting.

Anyone knowing the original 6r4 knows it was undeniably a beast, if a little unreliable. Shame group B was banned.

I remember going to the pre-rally show for the Jim Clark Rally in Duns and thinking to myself ‘what a £$%^’ when I looked in my mirror at a guy turning up in a ‘6r4’ behind me…

When I had another look at it later on, I realised it was actually a real one! 😀

It’s my joint favourite Gp B car, alongside the Ford RS200.

Shame Group S[/url] Never saw the light of day, competitively…
