Believe me mattjg, you won’t regret it. Absolutely love mine. Just loves to be ragged everywhere. Up down and across! Back tyre is rubbish though.

I have to say though that my lbs got the last medium available from atb (whyte distributor) and they were told that there would be no more available in medium this year! sold out. So unless you can find one in stock at a shop, i doubt you’ll get a medium. I was a bit worried the top tube would be too long but it feels great, loads of room to move around and throw the bike about.

Mine landed on Tuesday, only had one chance to go out for a quick ride on it so far. Will be out both sat and sun this weekend though to give it a good thrashing. First proper impressions are its amazing. Just begs to be ragged everywhere! Came with a reverb and 200mm and 180mm rotors too. the finish looks a bit darker than the demo bikes i tried too. Just been helitaping tonight. ballache to say the least but want to keep it looking svelt for as long as possible! The large is a perfect size for me. The only thing i might change initially are the tyres, the rear ikon is especially crap in any form of mud. Nice power slides though! Tempted by a Hans Dampf on the front. not sure one will fit on the rear. maybe nobby nic. Trying to find out if the rims came with tubeless tape installed, as just have the valves in a bag?

I got mine today. After a quick local ride all I can say is awesome. So glad I went for it. The large is bang on for me. Maybe a shorter stem in the future and definitely some new tyres. Pretty hopeless in mud but fingers crossed we might have a nice dry summer! The spec on mine is different from the early released ones too. Black hubs not green, reverb not Hilo, 200mm and 180 discs not 180 and 160. The colour seems different too. More black than the charcoal. Looks great though. Atb have sold out of mediums according to my lbs. what shops have is now all they’ll get. Now maybe a set of green easton havoc bars…….

They do come up long Mboy, but seeing as they come with an 80mm stem as stock I’d be happier knowing I can drop to a 50mm stem and get a similar length to small than having to get a 100mm stem to make the medium as long as the large. if that makes sense? I prefer a shorter stem if possible too so will prob be going straight to a 60mm.

    Top tube medium 616mm
    Top rube large 631mm

Again its all down to the individual. Short stem long t tube for me.

Hi Andy, see me post on the link that dickie put up. Per the size chart on the Whyte website, at 6 foot you’re actually too large for a medium t-129/s.

Unless you’ve got really short legs, I’d go with the large. Thats what I did. Rode better in my view.

Just so people know on the sizing, I test road both the medium and large frames. I’m six foot or a tiny bit less and i put a deposit down on the large. The large just felt a lot more stable and faster on the downs than the medium, which just didn’t feel as good. This is me who’s been riding a medium cannondale for 3 years.I always suspected that it was too small! Per The whyte size chart it said i should have been on a large too. The best description i can give would be monster truck. awesome. Totally unfit having not really ridden for a month and a bit due to knee problems i still managed to put pb’s on a lot of segments on a strava loop i do.

I’m sat waiting for my LBS to call me saying its here. Impatient is the word.

Sweet! Fingers crossed mine will come with the same! Are the maxxis tyres, tubeless ready?

Sorry to hijack but, my t-129s lands in mid march, just wondered whether they have a reverb or a Hilo dropper post? The test bikes I rode both had reverbs, but I read they come with hilo’s? Awesome bike for the money though. Seriously fast on technical Lakeland descents for 120mm.

@theendisnigh my yard is unfortunately rather small, and already have a stone old outside toilet. No room for a shed (which does depress me as everyone could do with a good shed).
I’ll try ever increasingly severe methods. Annoys me how dog owners have to clear up after their dogs but cat owners can let them go anywhere! Cat crap is worse than dog crap too. Don’t get me wrong, having dog crap spray up in your face while out riding is no fun whatsoever! it’s not that uncommon an occurrence that my group I ride with are called the dog egg warriors on fb!

Snake is def more like it. Was thinking of getting a bearded dragon but may get a big python instead. Be cheap too keep as they only eat once every six weeks or so? Say five cats on my street, that’s over half a year with no feeding costs!

The bag necklace idea sounds good vorlich!

It’s only rarely I see them do it to deter them! Otherwise I’d have a full armoury.

It’s an open yard area at the back of a terraced row so no walls, but good idea.

Cat is a no no as I’m allergic to them and don’t like them.

Dog is a no no as I don’t want to leave it in the house all day, don’t think it’s fair. Do want one in the future tho.

    Someone said pepper to me??

Heard about the lion / tiger poo idea, but then I’d just have bigger piles of catcrap? Will try it though.
I don’t want to fall out with my neighbours, that’s the problem.
