    Yes, go for it.
I bought a Oneplus One last year after doing loads of research into all the cheap Chinese brands, no real problems with it. Lots of reviews on YouTube if you want to learn more – look for Marquess Brownlee, Android Authority etc.

They’ve just dropped the price – is £250 the current price?

    Q from issue 19

I threw out a collection of Q magazines when I moved a few years back, iss 3 to iss 50. Tried to find a home for them but nobody wanted them.

I also threw out a selection of newspapers from September 12th 2001 – they depressed me every time I stumbled over them in the loft.

The only thing about going for a ride on Christmas morning is that I imagine anyone who sees me is thinking “somebody got a bike for Christmas!”.

I’ve spent the last 7 Christmas mornings on my own and love it. Yes it would be nice to spend the day with the future Mrs rogg and all of our kids, but blended-family logistics have prevented it so far. My two kids get dropped off in time for me to serve Christmas dinner at 1.30’ish and the peace is shattered…

I wouldn’t take a five year old. The lads I took are both 10 and loved it (fortunately the filthiest joke didn’t mean a thing to them), I’d say maybe 8 or 9 as a minimum? I was surprised at how few kids there were in the cinema, considering it was a matinee in the summer holidays.
Soundtrack was awesome, just downloaded ‘cherry bomb’.

Saw it yesterday, it was great, I just wish some of the other Marvel movies could have been that much fun.
Good to see the generalissimo had a brief cameo as well.

Send feedback to someone further up the chain.

Salesmen can be their own worst enemies – someone I knew turned up on a forecourt to be greeted with ‘we don’t sell used cars mate’. He had £35K to spend on a new car and promptly took it to another showroom.

m0rk wins thread. Freetracks are ace. Cheap, fast and they actually handle despite weighing a ton and a half and having jacked up suspension. The only thing I don’t like about mine is the fuel consumption, 28mpg average.
They are bloody ugly though, that rear three quarter view is actually as good as it gets.

No, I don’t think that was his style. He looked more like a strangler/garrotter to me.

    At risk of repetition….
Not smiling/nodding/acknowledging other cyclists people when you’re out for an evening’s potter along the bridleway.
If you want to be miserable, take up fishing or become a goth.

Nissan used it on the Micra and Primera in the late ’90s, Alfa have used it on the 156, and TVR used it on various mental machines, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to track some down. Not sure you’ll get precisely the same effect on a bike frame though, don’t you get most of the effect in a transition from one panel to another, on a bike frame you’ve only got tight curves. Worth a try though. Post pictures when it’s done.

Don’t worry, I saw what you did there 😀

What wheel size for hyper sensitivity to rejection

26″. That was probably the trouble, I’m not down with the cool kids.
Thing is, there must have been 26 of them, at least, and not one of them….no, I promised myself I wouldn’t get upset again…

Still, three pints… …and midnight ride home

    How irresponsible.

Surprisingly, I survived to smile and wave another day.

Regarding the ‘walking into town’ and ‘wearing green’ analogies – I don’t think these count as hobbies, leisure activities or shared/common interests. But if it makes you happy…

So it’s a fairly irrational fear founded on something then.
And I’m not sure we should be referring to insurance companies as arbiters of morality either. Proximate Cause is designed to swing the odds a little more in their favour.

I am aware that some people are scared/allergic/nervous around even little dogs. I know they are irrational fears founded on nothing

Could you be any more patronising? Given that thousands of people are bitten by dogs every year, it’s hardly ‘an irrational fear founded on nothing’ is it?

Of course plenty would argue that the amp makes bugger-all difference to the sound quality as well

    Who?

    Me.

    Well that escalated quickly!

I’d go for QED. I’m using Linn K-something or other cables and swapped them out for some fairly cheap QED cable and couldn’t hear any difference.

Of course plenty would argue that the amp makes bugger-all difference to the sound quality as well…;)

    Twitter, badly.
After two years we’re up to a couple of hundred followers…just for comparison my daughter is 13, and has 700 followers, many of her friends have thousands of followers.
As we’re now down to one tweet every three days or so, I’m not sure why we bother.

I’m relatively new to this camping malarky as well, but I would echo the recommendation to get a slightly bigger tent than you initially think you need.
Take a windbreak of some description, and one of those folding kitchen stand/table things that lets you cook at a reasonable height rather than crippling yourself bending double.
I’d normally also suggest earplugs, but you’d probably like to hear if your kids yell in the night!

My son and step-son are both obsessed – nearly as much with the YouTube channels as they are with actually playing the game.
I had to intervene with some of the stuff they were watching though – iBallisticSquid and Stampy are safe enough, but some of the language from the others isn’t suitable for a 10 year old and an 8 year old.
Although Stampy’s laugh will make you want to put knitting needles in your ears.

Having kids is hard work – and you will always be your own harshest critic.

    Stuff that worked for me:

Always have a plan for what you are going to do with your time with the kids.
Get them involved with swimming/footie/rugby/music/cage-fighting lessons/clubs – it’ll give you an hour or so where you don’t have both of them to entertain.
    Read ‘The Idle Parent’.
Do your own thing when they’re not with you and don’t feel guilty about it.

On a similar vein to what 40 said…Google Picassa lets you search your files for images containing the same face, and also makes collages very easily, so it was pretty easy to make two collages of images of my two kids for the-former-mrs-roggs 40th. The kids helped arrange the collage, deleted any images they didn’t like, chose which one went in the middle etc. I’m sure other photo editing/sorting apps let you do the same.
The trickiest bit was choosing the frames.

I wasn’t around when they were handed over, but apparently there were tears of happiness. Job done!

Go to ifttt.com, set up an account, search ‘kindle’ and you should find various ifttt recipes to automatically notify you if a new book is added to the Amazon top 100 free kindle books. Sit back and wait for the notifications to roll in. Download and enjoy anything that catches your eye.
A lot of the suggestions will be self published rubbish, but you do get one day special offers of better known authors/books from time to time.

Thanks for the replies…I’ll take a look at some of the template options suggested, and also investigate costs to get someone to create one for me.
Another question – if I pay someone to create a website, are they going to expect to have an ongoing contract to update it as necessary? I’d rather do that myself.

Just do it. I remember the first time I went, arriving on the camp site and the engine noise of the cars out on a practise session making the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. It is a very special place/event.

I’ve been a few times since – our routine is to travel down on the Thursday, via the tunnel, and stick to the motorway. It’s not quite as good for car spotting, but a lot quicker than going the old A / B road route. Stop in Calais to stock up on beer. Set up camp late afternoon, start drinking.
Friday – pit lane walk, then take a tram into Le Mans and spend the day there, see the drivers parade.
Saturday, watch the classics, then find a good spot for the start, maybe watch the band in the evening (the Stranglers were good one year I seem to remember,) see how long you can stay awake, try to sneak into the grandstand on the start finish straight in the middle of the night.
Sunday morning, take the car down to Arnage and watch from there for a bit. Back to the camp site, pack up and make a speedy exit to beat some of the traffic the second the race has finished. Drive to Honfleur and stay overnight there (great restaurants).
Monday, leisurely drive back to Calais, tunnel, then home.

God I wish I was going this year!
The Classic is good too, slightly less rammed – more access to the cars and good viewing spots.
Ear plugs are a must, as are wet wipes if you can’t be bothered to queue for a shower. Don’t bother trying to compete with the ‘professional’ campers with their cinemas, swimming pools etc, just take what you need. I’ve never had anything nicked, but try to avoid being there on Monday as the sites get stripped by pikeys who will take anything lying around.

Car speakers are lower impedance (typically) than home speakers – 4 ohms usually.
The best way car to use car speakers would be to build your own boom box, using a T class amplifier and a 12 volt power supply. All the bits can be had for peanuts – a pair of 6×9 speakers from eBay, T class amps go for between £8 if you want to take risk on quality to £25 for a well reviewed Lepai one, £10 for a power supply. Then all you need is a funky enclosure. I was thinking about making one from a Jerry can or an ammo box, but a wooden box of some description would give much better sound. Have a look on instructables for some ideas.
