Hardcore pub-to-pubcross by the muddiest route possible using the oldest and simplest kit to hand.

My youngest has covered his with Slipknot and Black Veil Brides badges, I kind of like the subversion.
MTG that’s just wrong in so many ways.

But where’s the skill in that? It’s like criticising parents who make their kids ride rigid bikes with 12 gears and centre pull brakes! Just me then?

Guess you’ll be posting from London Zoo tomorrow morning.

@gavtheoldskater – Peak District – what could be better a trip to pick up a board mixed with some nice riding?

There a couple of masts and sails I’ll throw in too (full length masts so bring some red rags!!!)

I also travel up and down to London/Coventry/Chalfonts on a regular basis so if any of them are easier I can meet you somewhere, always good to get a youngster on the water.

Why eat that rubbish when you have the ultimate in trail snackiness in these:

EDIT: wish I hadn’t opened this thread, today is one of my 2 fast days. 🙁

Thanks Stoner. I was off to bed but may stay up and stare at the wardrobe for a while. Then under the bed, then the wardrobe, then the bed……. 😯

Yep they are great, have a few sets and they are bright enough on dim with just bright for the tricky bits. Mine are also heading into winter No3 with no probs to date.

@ernie – was I comparing it in terms of scale and effect, no I don’t believe I was?

It was merely a musing on whether the administration would respond in a better way than they did after katrina.

It looks pretty awful, hopefully they are pretty resilient folks living there.

Some pretty ill informed and distasteful comments from the usual suspects up there ^^^

As far as the administration is concerned I will be interested to see if the assistance Colorado receives is better than Florida received after Katrina hit.

Starboard Carve is a brilliant all rounder, varying volumes around depending upon your ability to waterstart, They are a bit hard to find but worth it if you can find one.

Also have a Go200 which is like sailing a dining table but carries an 8.5m rig with a 56cm fin and planes up very early so gets out plenty waiting for the wind to pick up.

There’s a Mistral Bermuda lying on the drive which you can have if you’re close enough to fetch it or interested in sailing something oldschool – daggerboard and retractable fin still there plus mastbase. Its a big plastic thing that weighs a ton but sails well as my 2 lads learned on it.

I’m a veggie, in a house full of veggies so pretty much everything, and they still won’t grant planning for a turbine!

    Yep, me too.

Always have suffered from cold fingers and toes (but not half as much as MrsCat after the ride 😈 )

Given up trying to keep them warm and now accept it as a cost of riding, I do have very low blood pressure and a resting pulse of 53 so that prob doesn’t help – will go check out Raynauds.

Not us, but we were in our old VW T2 next to the loch at Sligachan campsite on Skye.
Howling winds and driving rain saw a bus drop off 2 young lads.
Rather than come to the leeward side of the van, they went into the most exposed part of the sire and started to unpack.
One of them dropped their small tent out of the bag and before we could shout “NO!” he’d flapped it open holding the inzipped doors.
Off he went flat on his face in the mud.
Eventually they had the tent up but were soaked so MrsCat passed them 2 mugs of hot chocolate out of the sliding window.
Camper vans, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm snug n warm. 😀

Summer = huge bowl of salad with crunchy leaves, tomato, cucumber, celery, spring onions, sliced boiled egg smothered with Heinz Salad Cream.

Winter = Red Leicester and sliced tomato on toast (oven cook the tomato first to soften it)

I’d love to try one round here, a real mixed bag of boggy peat, rocky descents, plenty of mud and we had plenty of snow last winter. Anyone in the Peaks got one and willing to let me have a go?

Tinsy – watch the rustoleum video and look at the results. I used it on my VW Syncro, it’s black too. Never going to be concourse but it looks spot on for the use to which it is put.

We are all overweight? Apparently I should be 13.5stone. I’m 16 currently. If I dropped 0.5 I’d be spot on. The stats are crock. My gut needs a trim but I’m still in 34″ pants – wear the same jeans from 10yrs ago.

It’s ok wearing 34″ jeans but how big is your overhang, muffin top or full batch loaf? 😀

We have transit pickups patrolling around us almost daily.
I have a sneaky suspicion they do a drop (bed/matresses/washing machines) then look for scrap on the return trip.
Will keep an eye out in the usual spots where they dump by us as we are out riding tonight and they may be too ‘hot’ to weigh in.

There’s a few videos on YouTube about rollering with Rustoleum, got some bookmarked on the laptop. Will post links in the morning.

As mentioned above Rustoleum rollered on and flatted will look fine, the VW Syncro guys use it a lot. I painted an old VW Bay in yellow Smoothrite, looked good for a year and then faded & looked crap, couldn’t buff it up to a shine again. Did hold the non rusty metal together for a year though! 😀

The old political model just doesn’t fit the current shape of UK society, parties fail to have support because they have ceased to be relevant (Tories excluded as there will always be rich folks who want to remain rich by whatever means).

@ninfan – my 13 yr old communist will love that one, thanks.

Unfortunately as i was relegated from a nice bit of Sheffield to live one of the worst, I suspect said scotes family are the lowest of the low.

Ah it’s time for the reappearance of skirts for blokes combined with the mint humbug look – let’s see if it catches on this time.

Edit: just spotted the 3 Stooges haircuts too!

@THM – blimey had forgotten them, a wooden block with felt strips like a mini housebrick. Probably used to wipe off the marks left by the chalk thrown earlier.

Once at secondary school for hanging a fellow pupil with a roller towel which pulled a couple of sq yards of plaster off the wall – was never told which of the two things resulted in the cane. It hurt a lot.

Lesson learned – don’t get caught and, just to be sure, leave a trail of clues/evidence leading to the thick kids.
