@whippersnapper & ormondroyd- and that’s precisely my point and his problem.

His point is so easily derailed and subverted because of who he is, how he behaves and his delivery style.

The rights and wrongs are of this are irrelevant, it’s just how things work.

As most of the debates I have seen about the outpouring from RB seem mainly to be about RB and not the messages he is delivering, I would say he has failed if he wanted to engender a change in how the majority of people think about politics.

It always made me wonder why the IRA never targeted the transport infrastructure during their naughty days in the 70/80s.

Clapham Common was a derailed train accident and that was pretty horrific.

A couple of key road and rail viaducts would probably cause more disruption to more people and create more grumpy members of the public than blowing up shopping centres and remembrance services.

What is this hippety hoppity of which you speak?
Like HM until his little huff on NMTB, still like the music.

To add a little balance, our business lunch today was at a MacDonald’s in Sheffield and topped out at £8.64 for 2 of us.

Read the thread title and thought for a minute that pies had been banned!!

Dining our in Buxton tonight, I shall enquire of the maître d’ at Pizza Express if they are aware and demand that culinary oxymoron a veggie sausage.

Great news, there are good kids out there but it’s not newsworthy.
Be proud and shout about them.

    @seadog
    – same here, same subjects plus Govt & Politics, he’s just left the house to catch the bus to 6th form and gets home at 5.30pm. Very proud of the effort he’s putting in but fearful that he’s taken on too much.

Thought I’d share: Just had a meeting in that there London, lunch for 3 plus 2 bottles of very nice red in a restaurant just off Leicester Sq and the bill came to a smidge over £300.

    😯

Thankfully someone else has to get that one past their accounts dept.

We don’t have a policy, our staff are treated as grown ups and expected to behave as such. Never had a single incident that required a ‘word’.

Ok I know that this is a carnivorefest, but I have a few veggie based options if anyone is interested?

Good job he removed it before he fell off, just think of the rotational injuries he could have suffered!!!

I’d still recommend the comedy horn, hard for them to get angry when you Honk as you approach and it’s sufficiently different from a bell to get their attention rather than them deliberately ignore it.

This is the one I use:

Hmmmm. I think my chums in the media in Asia will be jolly interested to hear of this.

    Quiet news day in Asia?

A friend had ridden one for years in the UK and US and I just thought I’d build one out of an old Kona Cindercone to give it a go, became hooked and now it’s all I ride.

I make all the staff who work here cry when they are dropped off in the mornings.

Ton – bloody hard being a Dad, you just have to follow your head rather than your heart. D of E request looks like a positive sign.

Very sorry to hear your news.
    Several experiences all mixed
Great advice above, don’t rely on internet experts, definitely speak to Macmillan they are a brilliant organisation.
Best wishes to your Mum, as an only one who’s Mum was very ill I can understand your position, but also look after your Dad too.

@CG – must be the season, they just came around to help us too as I was unloading bikes from the van.
I will have no truck with them as the JW faith denies blood transfusions, without which may of the mum’s MrsCat has looked after would have died.
They are an outwardly benign organisations but a really nasty bunch of feckers under the surface.
Simple question usually works – “Do you allow blood transfusions for those in medical need, if not, on your way.”
Otherwise I end up shouting at them and getting very cross.

Ooops, sorry Chris just realised I haven’t sent you the revised white peak route. 😳

Currently riding round Dorsetshire’s finest bridleways bit will get it fettled and emailed when I get home.

Departure time now set for midday tomorrow instead of 7am so hopefully the worst will be over.

Yep, get it fettled – used mine to try singlespeeding and got hooked – made it super light and the frame was as nice to ride as I remembered.

The frame is now hanging back in the garage as I have cannibalised it for the latest build but it looked like this after a quick resrray (not really into restoring things, prefer to see how far I can push them)

EDIT: if you do go the ‘alternative’ resto route don’t put a pic on restobikes – mine got a very cool reception!

    Don’t get them shorties.
A full suit will keep them warmer for longer because the cold water does not wash through as easily.
    +1 for a rash vest

I knew the ramblers wouldn’t take kindly to MTBs on Kinder footpaths – did they find a body or just a badly laid patio?
