    @iolo – my dream car.
But have to settle for an 03 Beetle Cab – went to Rutland and back yesterday and Mansfield and back today – hood down.
As TINAS posted – roof off unless snow and rain, day or night, it’s great. WGAS what others may think, I didn’t buy it for them. 😀

It’s been a day of meetings so these, which are to be replaced by my cycle shoes and then, later, by some flipflops – I care not what others think. I have been wearing Reefs for 30 years and am not stopping now for some made up social convention. I may even nibble my toenails if I get peckish. 😀

Is it as good as Red Riding? May have to catch up if it is.

Field Head is great, but you park your car in the car park and carry your kit to the pitch rather than park next to your tent. Took ours as toddlers and it’s ideal.

Cooper’s can be good, depends on where you pitch, old man Cooper enforces noise discipline which is entertaining in its own right.

    Now that looks very nice.

EDIT: that was written in response to Pook, just in case there’s any beardy misunderstandings!

Went to Uni with some good ones – top bloke called Geoffrey Jeffrey, lad from Doncaster with the middle name Ambrose (bet his schooldays were fun) and another called Mitford (yes we called him Nancy).

A Swede who works for us called his kids Erik and Mena.

A few oddball names in the village Ribey Blue and Kye Magic spring to mind.

It’s all very well having an ‘interesting’ name but surviving school can often depend upon how dumb your parents choice of name has been.

MrsCat has the 4×4 version as she used to go out whatever the weather as a midwife and it was brilliant in all weathers. Would reinforce all points made above. I was the relaunch version not the bulbous one that’s in the showrooms now.

are the trails that fragile that mincing will destroy them

As most of the erosion to the trails round here has been caused by Hora, then the answer is definitely yes. 😀

You dig because we can’t get there mid-week.

Yeah man, we dig! Bummed out you can’t be there man. [/hippy]

Don’t worry though, someone else will take time off work to fix the trails you insist on riding when they are not really suitable, heaven forbid you should alter your riding or help out!! 🙄

rogerthecat- I would be the times would mean having to take a day off to get through the M67/Glossop snarl mid-week

And for our English speaking audience?

@Votchy- it rained very heavily in the night, big downpours so there will be lots surface water in all the usual places. If you can sift through the thread above there are a couple of suggestions of good routes and ones to avoid. Vertebrate published a route that was mostly rock based trails and gritstone is much grippier than limestone when wet. Enjoy. May see you out there.

Well I live out here so you can all bugger off. 😀

The maxim should be ride with care and thought. We all want to ride the nice stuff and we want to open up and ride more stuff. But, to do this, we all need to be responsible – dull I know, but there it is.

@Stoner – are the Conservators ok with that? They always seemed v precious when I lived in Worcs.
