I got back on the bike on saturday after 8 weeks off after crashing practicing the megavalanche track. Tore a third of my quad and 3 hematomas, 1 in the knee and two in the thigh were my prize. Right leg 3″ bigger than the left at first and now 1’5″ smaller around the thigh.
I was only a couple of hundred metres from the end of the track too.
Still can’t flex the knee much past 90 degrees and haven’t been able to work since, i’m a self employed carpenter.
These things happen though. Injuries are part of this sport and i wouldn’t change that, chicks dig scars right!?

Tomaso the 10% off and £10 off over £75 don’t work together, they only allow one discount code per order.
Look at the gravity dropper, most reliable and that’s from someone with a reverb

What KINGTUT said. Remove the core and either add slime or stans juice

If your going to run the single ring with a chain device that has a back plate then you will have to file down the bolt lugs on the back of the cranks so they don’t hit

But that freedom can be taken away in a split second if they come off and hit their head. I understand it’s a personal choice thing but surely it’s a no brainer of a choice? I believe helmets should be compulsary by law.
Either way i’m glad the OP did walk away fine from this crash but hope it makes them think about what might have been

It would have been better if you had landed on your head, that way you may have learnt something.
Why do people ride without helmets?

Sorry pal. This is the first time i have ever used rose and remembered when ordering seeing a little advert for them on the sidebar on facebook. Sure enough i got the discount

Oh and if you ‘Like’ the ‘Rosebikes’ page on facebook you get 10 euros off of the order

I think i am right in saying they are included after reading up a bit. It’s attached to the pad itself. They can be used with either these ice tech finned pads or just standard pads

What is the deal with the Ice-Tec alloy fin pads? They aren’t mentioned at all. Do they come as one piece with the pads?

    LOL, ROFL, PMSL
All far more annoying than a creaky bike.
I’m angry just thinking about seeing those written down!

Your holding the grips too hard imo.
Loosen your grip slightly and i bet it goes away.
Are you dragging your brakes too down these descents as that’ll do it too

I can’t really help with Bangkok as i thought it was a horrible place and got out of it as soon as i could but Chiang mai on the other hand is great. I would return tomorrow if i could. The one thing i would say is a must do in chiang mai is A Thai massage from the inmates at the womens prison. Seriously it was amazing and very surreal at the same time. It’s the cons who are close to finishing their time and are taught a ‘trade’ so they can hopefully find work on the outside.
    Have fun

I almost did exactly the same with a ragley spike post but i noticed before it got so bad and so straightend it on a rock and then rode home with it slammed in the frame. Ragley cheese

I have had two ks GD Posts, one remote and one lever and currently have a new generation Reverb but would recommend a Gravity dropper for their simplicity and reliability. I had to send my reverb back within two weeks when a seal blew and the ks i had before that imploded completely within two weeks of riding too. The lever operated one lasted over a year until i sold the bike. You very rarely see people complaining about reliability issues with the gravity dropper. Ok they look a bit less sleek than the others but at least they tend to spend more time on the bike being used rather than in the box going for warranty jobs

    They are different.
The chain thickness is different between 9 & 10 speed, 10 spd being thinner than 9.
The 9 speed chain rings are thicker also.
This is my experience from trying a single 9spd E13 ring up front when i first went 1×10 some time ago. The chain sucked back up around the ring when pedalled

EDIT – Didn’t really read the title, ignore

A maxle is a bolt through quick release that screws into the frame itself.
It helps to stiffen the whole rear end of the bike.
I wouldn’t take any of the other upgrades they offer regarding hope headset, bb, performance pack etc. You are looking at the whole bike rather than just the frame right? If so just buy it and then if headset/bb etc were upgrades you are after, sell the ‘new’ ones off of the bike and put that money towards the parts you want from somewhere else. Orange don’t deduct the cost of the standard parts on the bike away from any upgrades, they just add the full cost onto the original
    price.

    *BEATEN TO IT

Maxle swingarm would be/ was my first thing to get upgraded. My 2011 frame had the rp23 fitted. Is it not this year as the rp23 is kashima coated?

    No classifieds are risk free.
I brought a pair of forks from ‘Enduro1987’ on here over a month ago and am still without the forks or the £358 i paid for them through paypal even though paypal have sided with me on the ‘resolution centre’ case but i guess unless he has the money in the account they can’t get it? Next step is police if this doesn’t bare me any fruit by the end of next week.
For the record i have brought and sold many things from pinkbike and never had a problem

Thanks for the interest but i love myself far too much to love anyone else too.
My point was more that weight doesn’t make someone ‘fat’ or ‘slow’ but i guess i did put across in a ‘i love myself’ kinda way. To be fair i bloody do. If you don’t love yourself how can you expect someone else to?

6ft 6″ – 93kg – 24 yr – 13% body fat – a fair bit quicker up and down than most people i have ever come across on the trails

I’d change it now tbh bud.
I change mine after two years or any blow to the head. I know sometimes it’s not neccessary but i like to know that whats sat on my sweed is going to protect me in the event of another off

No significant improvements. You could buy a new trek or scott though and get the internally routed cable? Bit excessive though tbh

I spoke with a police friend earlier and he told me that oxford is likely to be hit tonight. Some of the normal shit holes – Blackbird leys, barton etc but the city centre too. My sister got sent away from work by british gas in cowley too as they expect trouble there too

Have you actually weighed it? When i had my remedy 8 it was easily sub 30lb

That’s not a great deal bud unless it has been heavily upgraded?
I’m guessing it’s a 2011 pitch you mean as they aren’t doing them in 2012. You should be able to pick one up in the coming months for far cheaper than that.

Check out canyon bikes = null

We did it this year and would definitely recommend a 5-6″ bike

    Yeah no worries.
Needs more speed/ commitment and to look where he wants to go rather than at his front wheel. Try riding up the face of the big rock on the left, where he keeps getting stuck

I have Hope Eternitys on both of my bikes.
Really strong, look good, very good clamping system.
    Highly recommended
