I’m pretty sure that i am right in saying that Aston has limited entries and they will be offered to those who have done all the other rounds before everyone else get’s a chance to book

The guys at the Billy can will be at Hamsterly for the ukge round this weekend, hence not being open monday. They are great guys though and serve up some mean food to keep you going on the trail or after it.

The Dyfi enduro they are referring to is the 4th round of the uk gravity enduro series not the mass start xc pedalfest that took place a couple of weeks ago

How tall are all the people complaining of the short tt? I’m just over 6ft 5″ and ride an xl carbon nomad and find it fine. I run a 65mm stem.
They aren’t as long as the likes of a yeti but for what the bike is meant for i think it feels Great.

A mate is behind the route for the ukge later in the year. He is hoping they won’t be using much if any of the same route.
No need to fret too much about getting practise in on the saturday. The tracks are pretty tech in places but thats due to its very natural make up and not because there are huge gaps/ drops etc. The riding is so good in the area that it would be quite an acheivement to make choose crap stuff

The triscombe dh trks are brilliant but i don’t know how many of them, if any, will be used. That series does tend to be a bit more xc tbh. They also have rubbish trialsy stages. It has potential to be great but i won’t be suprised if the chosen trails let it down

The elbow pads are brilliant. I use them for dh and some trail rides. They are light, very comfortable and have stood up to some big hits against rock. I have had the POC ones before and would rate the g-form as far, far better. POC is shite in my opinion. They are on sale on Sport pursuits at the moment. I have just ordered the impact shorts.

    You’ll be fine pal.
I race with Alex from RRG and can vouch for him as a rider, person and coach. His brother Joe is also a top rider and from what i have heard, nice guy. They will bring skills out of you that you didn’t know you had whilst all the while making you feel safe and in control.
    Your in very safe hands

None myself thanks Northwind as i have a maxle but the rider i was speaking to last weekend said that the Qr was something he would like gone as his has dropped out a couple of times. Plus for me i have a few sets of wheels that are all 12mm rear that i swap between depending on what kind of riding i’m doing

I haven’t ever ridden a butcher pal but have just this morning tested a carbon nomad. I was initially put off the nomad and also the butcher a year ago by it only having a quick release rear wheel. But after speaking to a SC rider last week i dropped SC a email this week to see if he was right and that they would be bringing out a maxle version and they are. It may be worth emailing yourself regarding the butcher if thats something that interests you. The nomads should be about within 6 weeks. It’s not anything to do with helping too stiffen up the rear end as its aready stiff as a rock, more to do with wheel retention

Avid codes. They aren’t light like the formula brakes but they actually work and are easy to bleed. I had a set of new formula the ones on my dh bike and they were dreadful so sold them and went back to avid. A couple of mates have saints and both agree that my new codes are a lot better. Saints/ shimano may be great at stopping you dead occasionally but they are so inconsistant with their power. I had a set of the new xt trail brakes on my trail bike and they were again really inconsistant so i have gone back to a set of elixir cr’s and can’t fault them

Newburys getting a bit rife with this sort of thing now. Bikelux have had several bikes stolen now from someone breaking into the showroom at night and fitting their own pedals to a spark rc and making off with it too someone just walking into the showroom when people were busy with other customers and picking a bike up and riding off with it.
I will keep an eye out over wantage way.
I hope the police bring charges

Nothing against simons work but i filled out a service form nearly 2 weeks ago and still haven’t heard back from him. I understand he is busy and as i said before, i have no issues with his work or prices

I have used LOCO a few times and been happy with the service and price but i find it’s not easy to contact/ get a reply from them. I emailed j-tech last night and had a reply first thing this morning and now my rear shock is heading that way. A few mates have had forks done and been happy so i’m confident that i will be and the price is good too compared to mojo.

If you go for a set of talas 36’s you can adjust the travel right down for climbs from 160 – 130 – 100. I run my five with a set of 36 floats, wide bars and short stem and think its cracking. The front lifts a bit but imo a bike like this is aimed at hammering the downs and then just getting up the climbs. Saying that i rode it last weekend for the brechfa enduro and passed 6 people on the climb stage alone so it will still climb well enough if you can power it

Yeah i was having this conversation with a mate earlier. Things don’t seem to be selling at the moment. I guess it’s the hangover from christmas, new years etc.

The Mega is only 150mm not 160mm.
I just ordered a kalula, should be here this week, Can’t wait!
Got a great deal from ‘Bikedirty’. If you ‘like’ them on facebook then you get 15% off. My kalula came in at £2950 rather than just shy or £3500

    Thanks again.
I have already ordered a new set of bushes from mojo and the above tool too so hopefully i may get my hands on them before christmas so i can then have two weeks solid riding on a solid bike!

    Cheers

Dirt is the only mag i read but thats mainly because they aim at the riding that actually interests me, Gravity based. I stopped reading mbuk a few years ago as they try and be too much to too many and so don’t really do anything very well imo

Mine blew an air seal too after a couple of weeks so i phoned fishers directly and they said that so long as i included my receipt with the post, i could send it back to them through any bike shop. Mine was back to me in under a week and had no more probs since but i don’t use mine on every ride as i still don’t think they are tough enough to be ridden hard 3-4 times a week.

I expected a thread to pop up on here ragarding the farce that was the superenduro today.

    First things first, the positives-
The trails were great fun and flowed well providing a good test to the rider to get stuck into.
The majority of the marshalls were very helpful and honest in as much as admitting the event had several problems.
    The weather.

That’s about all of the posives that i can think of.
    Negatives may take longer-
The course marking on the stages was pretty poor and very lazy with the tape leaving countless riders lost on stages. It’s nice to have a wide taped track so people can pick lines but the tape on several stages was non existant leaving riders unawhere which way to go in places.
The marking arrows and tape for between the stages was dreadful. You didn’t need a whistle for when you possibly got lost, more a cystal ball to read the minds of those who supposedly marked out the course or Gandalf the grey to lead you on your way through the maze of confused marshalls and unmarked transition stages. When i was waiting to start stage 2 people were pushing up it trying to find stage 1 still.
The timing was confused from the very start of stage 1 when people were due to be going only to be told that they weren’t and then serveral minutes later being told again that they should have started already!
The hill climb and ‘trials’ stages were dreadful and should be removed imo in the future. Certain people were told that they had completed the trials stage and then others were made to continue over the fire road with a short but steep and loose climb up and over a stoney mound.
They were still trying to decide what a ‘dab’ actually could be when people had started the stage. For instance, if someone lent against a tree, was that a dap or not? They said yes.

I understand that some markers were removed by walkers but had more tape been used then that would have pretty much sorted that as it’s far easier to move or take a arrow than it is to remove meters of red and white tape

Gravity Enduro is the fastest growing event in mtb at the mo and the venue is more than capable of holding a great race, this wasn’t even a good impression of a average race.

Parr and Tally from the uk gravity enduro series have nothing to worry about from this organiser currently as the rounds i did this year, including their first round were practically perfect, other than the weather!

Great format, great venue, poor execution of race.

Ok hadn’t dived deep enough. I have found it for all forks now except sektors. They do have pikes though so with all the info on all the different forks i should be able to get that sorted tomorrow night.

    Thanks again

There doesn’t seem to be any info that i can see on the rockshox/ sram site regarding doing the reducing and neither is there on the tf tund site either.

Does anyone else know of any online guides or any fork pros out there?

Brosnan may have been within 10 seconds but that was in the relative dry/tacky conditions not the sopping wet ones the senior men and women came down in. Fair play to spagnolo too great run but would have been beaten by Blenki if he hadn’t had a couple of silly stalls. Blenki didn’t look at all impressed on the 3rd step of the podium

I was speechless watching his run. It was easily one of the best £15 i have spent to get to watch it live. Warner and pagey did a cracking job.
    THAT WHIP!

There is no code. You can watch it on any computer as long as you log into your freecaster account. I would expect you can only log into your account from one computer at a time.
I think it’s a bargain to be fair.
The 4x last night was great.
1pm will be when the womens start and the mens is 2pm according to warner last night

I have used both and much prefer the minions.
I found the rubberqueens in 2.4’s to ‘roll’ on the rim and feel quite washy. This was whilst riding out in france prior to the mega. I swapped it out for a front minion after the first afternoon
