Cheers all so far; all look good.
    Any thoughts on Leyzene stuff?

I am keen to get as much stuff onto the bike, rather than my back; suffering from a crushed nerve in my shoulder, so this is quite a serious issue for me.

Nice piece of kit, but is there a self contained one? The tube could get damaged.

Reason being, luckily I don’t use one much and needs to be weather tight.

They do look a bit Fisher Price/Lego man, but also different to the norm.

    Any other thoughts?

Anyone got advice on fitting grips, brakes and gear lever positions. I have read that thumbies work best and that the brake is on the far side of the bar and the lever behind if that makes sense?

Cheers all, whats the deal with Thomson seatposts?

I like the lining of slits up idea, makes sense mechanically. I will try that first.

Cheers everyone, love the one above!
its a weird thing when you are commuting or getting somewere, you can say to the minute how long it will take you ie to tell the family when you will be home, but when you are riding i cannot say what time it is when in the middle of it. Hope that makes sense!

Set up a crowdfunding page Gnusmas?

I will chuck some money in for sure, a little from everyone will get you there.

This guy needs some good lights that will last, wont burn the house down and last. A good set of Hopes will set you up.

I went through stress, anxiety and then depression and have to keep any eye out for it every day.

My mates never turned me down for a ride, and like wise a friend who is recovering from cancer and rides like the devil to shake it off, is always ridden with, despite us being knackered.

Apart from looking very cool, how they improve things? I was tryying to work this out at 7.20 am this morning as I set off to work on the bike.

Is it beacuse I am bored at looking at the bars 10 hours a week, trying to find a different position?

If they had sweep backwards I could understand?

Yep, I noticed that, the frames the smartweld one, so a bit different.

The gel pads that came with the original bars may be able to be used.

Is the centre of the bar straight, if that makes sens. I need to mount my Hope light over the centre, if that makes sense.

    Cheers everyone.
I do like them, any thoughts on other similar bars though?

What tapes are people using on gravel bike bars, as a wider question

I aim to put them on my Diverge, which could be a lighter frame, or do I just cave in and buy a Sequoia?

Were you running a very low pressure soe the tyre could deform?

I wonder if tyres change shape when spinning and under load, combined with lateral forces.

Now theres ones for the physics nerds?

It can in the mornings! I have to base it round catching a train; 10 miles there then train and reverse in the evenings.

Just trying to be hassle free!

True, they look good. However I aiming to use it on the commuting bike, and will have to remove the bag and put back on again. So thats ten times a week… Just need a possible quicker alternative

The wheel may flex in riding.
I had this on a cross bike, the wheel was loose on the axles, so wobbly and I did not realise. Big tyres which just had enough clearence rubbed it.

I thought that may be the case…

Any thoughts on the straps? Are there more bungy cord things people are using?

Looks like they outsource it to other companies….

I have plumped for an Ortleib dry bag, I think they are made in Germany, so at least its not that far!

Any other UK manufacturers for kit?

Cheers, I thought Alpkit were UK made, but no.
    Any UK makers?

I guess size is not so important as the weight, I will aim for just less than the quoted weight.

Used a similar one in the 1990’s a North Face one, just kept slipping down.
Nice idea though. I think the Americans call them fannypacks…

Penetrating oil from Screwfix freed an alloy post in a steel frame that was 25 year plus. Its to do with getting something between the two materials and soaking in and providing lubrication.

Cheers for the replies! However I have lots of the female bayonet mount, but not the bar mount. I brought one and you get an extra.

I have two bikes I mainly use and an R2i, I want to use the other bits to fit to the pub bike, the shopping bike etc.

Any thoughts on cnc metal bits knocking around on ebay that may be suitable?

This kind of idea in reverse

Any thoughts on a Friday night?
I need a cheapish clamp to bodge together.

The plastic clamp Hope do, does not suit the weight of my current R2
