Nope, it runs from the first left after the brocket arms, follow round and then it’s straight down to the mill on codicote road. On strava it’s called the ayot drop off.

Down is about 30 mph, plus when dry.

Been riding cross marks all “summer”, also on 6 mile road commutes and a 24 miler once a week, mixed surface and the Sunday ride off road. Really good tyres, but sketchy off road in wet. Probably most responsive tyre of its type I have ridden.

However back to high rollers now after today!

Keep your eyes out for unusual sizes, unfashionable makes. However my maxi cross marks were a bargain. 2.1 maxi high rollers were good, when most want 2.35 plus. Great as they cut through the mud and great grip.

Whatever, ride whatever you have into the ground and enjoy, it’s all good.

Cheers everyone, I do think its an art. If you have ever stretched a canvas and primed it in the traditional way it’s not just a functional thing.

Are there any classes sessions that run?

i cannot kill my sidi dominators after eight or more years; currently held together by two bulldog clips on the left foot after the velco fix has failed, one stud left and the soles worn down and as comfortable as comfy can be.

Could any one trace one and PDF it at 100 per cent?
Then I could use a diamond white 2 litre bottle….

Unacceptable work stress led to an acute period of depression and anxiety, then three months off. I took medication and it helped me stop crashing so much, to sum it up. Obviously every case is different and causes various, mine were both work and of course me. I hear all you have said and been somewhere near there.

However a mixture of things, including bikes enabled the dark days to get further apart and being able to spot a bad one coming. It will come and you will ride out of the darkness, but it may take some time. Now everyday is a blessing.

Remember to use a steel bolt to adjust/get the preload right. Then replace with the aluminium bolt supplied that’s made of cheesy plastic.

you should try being a lecturer in an fe college; this term, i have doubled my course size; i run a course that has 64 students, have exactly the same standards to meet as schools, the course is equiv to three A levels, have been graded as good and outstanding for 15 years, with one satisfactory grade in that time. i start at 8.30, leave at 5.30 most days, never at 3! teach all week, with 3 hours admin.

we teach the kids who the schools, dont want/fail or choose to come to us, we often turn them round and exceed national benchmarks.

and for that i get less holidays than school teachers and earn under £27 k.

and it can be the best job in the world, until you walk out the studio and into some manager who makes you feel like you have just trodden in a piece of dog shit…

£899, nice but did not win the lottery this week!

What balance is best, got 1000 lumens on bars, but would a lower lumens be useful for looking ahead in a new direction?

I ride with our jack Russell/ fox terrier cross on a loop.

It’s all about him having fun, I spend most of it looking out for him, on the brakes letting him run ahead, he barks when we set off, turns round and craps looking at me on a big uphill, does a victory loop when we finish.

Dogs need to run in a pack, it’s natural, but need looking out for all the time, he runs then looks round to see where i am and the brakes gon on. paws and spokes do not mix, especially if they don’t belong to you.

This is two of us riding with trigger

Sorry for the late reply and thanks you everyone.
Like the shimano link, only works if it a new mech, which is great.

My problem is trying to fix a mates bike in the woods, he has no clue, a crap set of tools and a hangover.

Don’t say lbs, they had no clue either.

get some winter gloves when you can from aldi, then have a shell over glove. i have a pair of patagonia mountain gloves; basic nylon. they keep the wind off, yet act as a thin insulation.

an idea may be three gloves; a very thin silk like pair, then a fuller one, then a thin windproof one!

i have ridden through many winters and still experimenting.

do not ride in latex gloves, under bigger gloves; the swear freezess

whatever you wear your little fingers will still hurt!

anything endura; in 15 year i have had just two jackets.

the first was a pull on and i rode it in everything from sunshine to one night back from shiftwork at 2 am in a blizzard. it started to delaminate on the inside hence goodbye sadly

they all get wet on the inisde, its a big bag with you pumping sweat into it, what matters is keeping it all warm; merino or merino/possum jeresey mix is the secret. nz links coming out here!

Did not care, though I was always suspicious of air back in the day. Price was the key point, also poploc.

Whatever they are good, can get through things I couldnt on rigid. Rigid makes you look for lines and perhaps a better rider. With suspension I feel I have to put weight backwards, rigid forwards.

    All good either way!

Probably got the coil version, has poplock on the right.
Lots of things have changed since I got my manitous in 1997! Maybe it’s why I went to rigid…..

Merlin seemed to indicate there were air, even recommended a pump.

Latest obstruction is a 12 ft mesh fence and about 30 foot long at the southern end. Not sure what it’s for or it being legal, will take pics when I can.

Meanwhile Bramfield is progressivingly being obstructed with branches, logs being put across paths. Normally debris like this would be cleared on established paths. Loooks like we will have to use the permitted paths for speedy stuff rather than twisty stuff.

Got the ones from merlin, very good after 8 years on rigid. Still mystified on how to iaccess the valve to put some more air in! Any ideas or links?

Well, taken the top caps off, just hex bolts holding, with no sign of a valve?

    This is what I got

the issue for me is, i ride in herts, its not heavy duty! its a nice idea suspension, but my carbon pace forks i did have were very comfy!

    rocky-mountain

it is for main duties, though have a single speed, for work and an early 1985 dawes atb for retro duties.

really not sure if suspension is what i need fro the trails we do, though my wrists are shagged every ride! i just know where i ma going with rigid forks!
