    Kate McKinnon? A funny woman.

Why? Why on earth does that make it great? Surely the test of whether a film is good is if it’s, err, good – not if it contains females in place of males in all the lead roles?

It’s great that its stars are all women. ? It’s great because its stars are all women.

My toe got crunched at football once. Had exactly the same pattern of bruising/swelling/limited movement, and an initial improvement followed by deterioration. Picked a quiet time to pop into A&E. It was a small fracture.

Is that a ‘munchie box’? I’ve never had the pleasure.

What’s all this ‘beer garden’ pish? Simply combine one of the many green spaces with a carefully refilled Volvic/Evian/San Pellegrino (delete according to area) bottle.

In the grand scheme of things 20km in 30 mins (on the flat) is nothing exceptional. Particularly on an exercise bike with no drag and potentially set to low resistance.

Do your friends have fitness from other sports? Do they incorporate explosive efforts into their other activities, giving them better recovery? Do they eat better, sleep better? Are they simply working harder than you?

I had advance warning that when I turned 18 I’d be paying my own way, staying at home or not. IIRC it was £200 a month which was the going rate for studenty accomodation at the time. Was a sweet deal considering sky, laundry, meals, no bills etc.

I think you’d be teaching her a valuable life lesson by taking a similar approach.

The rear maxle on my old bike would do this unless it was done up b’stard tight.

New maxle on my t-129 hasn’t skipped a beat. As said above make sure it is correctly adjusted and that he’s correctly using the lever to lock it.

Far too many variables (incline, surface, terrain, skill, fitness) to say. Sounds like a fun challenge though.

The one I saw was pretty bad. Proper scoring, not the usual.

Saw this on another Boardman 29er recently. Seatpost was mutilated. Was rectified by filing/sanding inside the seat-tube iirc.

Didn’t know they had the t130 for rent

Yeah I’m sure they do. Just don’t rent a T-129 or you’ll end up buying that instead.

If you go to Glentress anyway why not rent a Whyte from Alpine?

I’m just impressed you’ve managed to beat yourself up so badly crashing at 5mph. Can’t visualise it for the life of me.

10% sounds reasonable to me. Goods vs services. It’s not like they have a warehouse full of spa days. They’ve held it for your missus and potentially had to turn others away, only for it to be cancelled.

Still gives me goosebumps listening to it

    YES chakaping.

Another favourite of mine from Herrs Bondzio und Zenker which still holds up imo.

Can confirm richmtb is still using them with no issues. I myself have the base spec M089 model and no problems since I bought them 12 months ago.

The food is weird! Generally you have to choose your meal from plastic mock ups on a stand outside the restaurant.

That’s an odd conclusion. You certainly *can* do that. On the other hand you can eat whatever you like. Almost any type of food you can imagine, and generally of a high standard. Puts the UK food offering to shame.

Definitely make an effort to learn some basic lingo. It’ll make your trip more fun, and the locals really appreciate it. English is not widely spoken, and even those who do speak a bit are reluctant to use it.

I assume you are getting a rail pass.

And what is the issue exactly? You haven’t even phoned him and are scared he’s trying to shaft you?

Yeah. It was there when new. I did a bit of googling and it wasn’t unknown, but I’ll be asking about it when service time comes.

I have run revs/pike/lyrik in my time and have no complaints with the rebas on my T-129. There is a very slight knocking when unloaded, but I don’t feel it when riding.

Pretty sure as long as you both do at least one lap you can split it however you want.

I’ve always just left the stem slightly loose, straddled the bike and got the bars where they feel best, then tightened.

Many years ago, the pub after a game of fives. The conversation turns to people’s ages. One fella – nice guy but a bit ‘special’ – says ‘I was born in 1969’.

I innocently remarked ‘That’s the year they went to the moon’. Then in a flash followed up with ‘Did they bring you back?’.

I struggled to keep a straight face as the table collapsed for a good few minutes. Just that perfect combination of timing, company, and booze. never to be repeated.

Probably not ideal for your case, but you did say inspiration. My commute is 4 miles each way through a city, and this does me great.

Hard to say how different they will ‘feel’ as there are other variables like BB height, headset type, spacers, stem angle/length etc. Why does your current frame feel small?

Assuming all else is equal then:

Frame 2: Imagine your bars about 3cm higher and a tiny smidgin closer to you.
Frame 3: Imagine your bars about 5cm higher and about 1cm further away.

I expect you’d find these differences very noticeable.

edit: Just saw your follow up post. Essentially more reach gives you a ‘longer’ fit, and more stack gives you a ‘taller’ fit. They are independent of each other, taking the bottom bracket as the reference point.

what network’s your phone on and how much are you flogging it for?

I got it from 3, but it came unlocked. Market seems to be around the £150 mark but if you’re interested email me. I’ll send you pics and if you fancy it we can talk about price.

    £240 equates to £20 a month over 2 years

    Sure about that P-Jay? ;-)

Incidentally I’ll be selling a 16gb 5S in excellent condition in a week or so.

This study says the more people brag about their relationships online, the more insecure they tend to be. I can believe it.

The only artistically minded person you should be consulting is your tattooer. Find someone whose art style you love, and who you trust, and collaborate with them to create your design.

I wouldn’t worry too much about storage. It’s relatively simple to plop a bigger drive in later, and doing so does not void the warranty.

but an equal society is one that accepts the other sex, not one that tries to iron out everything that they are.

Quite right, although I suspect not in the way you meant.

Where exactly is this stupendous institution full of one-percenter ‘kick to kill’ TKD assassins? Is it like that bit in IT Crowd except with underground ‘Street Kicks’? Is there a sign over the door saying ‘TOO DANGEROUS FOR THE LIKES OF YOU’?

Would be interesting to get some more female perspective, rather than another thread of predominantly white males decreeing how we should all feel about it.

OP, the area you’re looking at currently (Dinmont Street) is just down the road from me and is perfectly nice. A quiet little pocket but near to the many amenities of Shawlands, some great restaurants and bars, and also a big Morrisons on your doorstep.

Crossmyloof station is only 2 stops (about 10 mins) from Glasgow Central, so pretty handy for access to the city centre and Queen Street station.

Scaffolding outside our flat is making all sorts of scary noises. Had a few slates off the roof last night. On a positive note the stove is going like a jet engine.

I love my brolly (Fulton automatic Jumbo Black). Small enough to put in a bag. Flips back easily on the odd occasion it gets blown out. Great for the odd shower or when you’d rather not wear plastic. And yeah I still enjoy ‘deployment’. Push the button and WOOSH a full size canopy in seconds. Nice too when caught in the rain with the missus, as there’s something cosy/gentlemanly about it.

Has to be said there is a certain skill in managing a brolly in the wind.

Frequently and freely is the way. We feign disgust but thoroughly relish farting in each other’s company. I’m convinced it adds years to one’s life.

The hot, clingy, peanut butter ones are a bit rough sometimes though. I think it’s the protein. And another variety that smell, quite frankly, like bins.
