And make sure the rings are well lubed or they can get a little sticky when inserting and removing your tool.

Our house won’t sell. It’s been on the market nine months and had three viewings.

    It’s too expensive.

Mrs bob does this for a living ( residential conveyancing)

She says if you have a property factor then they should notify the estate agent. If no factor then The seller will have to complete a questionnaire which would ask about this kind of thing. The surveyor doing the home report will see that survey so if it’s been disclosed there then they will investigate.

If the seller doesn’t disclose and the surveyor doesn’t pick anything up on the survey, then the new buyer could chase the surveyor for liability but ultimately it’ll end up back with the seller if they’ve deliberately withheld info

Thanks BoardinBob, this is interesting. We do have a factor but their position seems to be they will wait to be asked but will not be proactive. Is it law that they should notify the estate agent, or just a code of conduct type thing?

Should that sort of thing not come up on the survey?

If you told the agent would they be obliged to declare it. I.e. if they know but don’t declare then likely they would be liable or they declare as they should so the buyer is aware.

Do you mean the home report? If so, no. They’re not worth a damn. A full survey would reveal it but 99% of buyers don’t bother. It has crossed my mind to write to the selling estate agent by recorded delivery to notify them, and hopefully motivate them to make buyers aware or at least ask the sellers about it.

Recently sold a bike and the buyer had Parcel Force collect it, and the box was BIG.

Would it be fair that if my wife and I were killed, the kids couldn’t continue to live in the same home (along with, presumably, some relatives or something) just because its in an expensive area? if you, say, halfed the threshold, you would make that the default stance for a lot of people living in the south east.

About as fair as them pocketing the thick end of half a million quid each when they come of age.

Someone on here recommended Shimano Techniums by saying:

“Nice and big but with vents to stop fogging. A lot more convenient than goggles.”

That caught my eye as I also wear contacts and have high cheekbones so many smaller glasses sit too close to my face. I liked the look of them (think budget POCs) and rate Shimano kit generally. Took a bit of hunting down but so far quite impressed. Very light and comfortable, with good coverage, and come with two sets of lenses (one clear) and a very nice case. Just over £50 too which helped.

I think I’d probably get a Whyte S-120 and pocket 1.5 to 2K if I wanted something similar in concept(?) (but not as fine looking).

If Transition’s weights are accurate this thing is a good 2kg or so lighter than my S-120 so I’m not sure they’re *quite* the same idea. ‘Tis a looker though.

’18 Leon FR ST 1.4 petrol here. I love it. Solid, comfortable, nice infotainment with android auto etc. Not a rocketship but enough punch to have fun. Also (and this is a bit sad) the LED headlights are brilliant.

Consider Shimano GR9s. Comfy with a nice platform. Really quick and handy lacing system. Flap to keep the muck out. Doddle to clean.

SRAM matchmaker on the other hand works right back to Avid brakes.

Thing is, it’s not very good (for me at least). Just two fixed positions neither of which allow me to run the shifters far enough inward from the brakes. I-spec offers a wider and very adjustable range of positions.

Jaw-dropping how many As there are, even to the extent of being a deal-breaker! I’ve never given bottle mounts a second thought, as always used a pack. Dynamically too, seems less than optimal to have a significant weight fixed to the frame rather than on your body where it can be moved around.

I too am in charge of household sanitation and am a convert to the Toilet Duck ‘Fresh Brush’. Uses biodegradable flushable pads. Cleans and disinfects the bowl very well and zero prospect of any ‘remnants’.

As you’ve identified, you’re selling a premium bike from a niche brand. This narrows your market considerably so you need to mitigate that as much as possible.

First thing I’d be doing is taking way more photos, and make sure they are really good quality. There shouldn’t be a square inch of that bike that a potential buyer can’t have a really good look at. Wide shots of the bike from every angle i.e. left/right/front/back/cockpit. Then closer shots of the fork/wheel area, bottom bracket/cranks/linkage, and rear wheel/mech. Finally get some nice detail shots of the componentry and any attractive frame details.

Second thing is get a bike box and a bunch of pipe lagging and bubble wrap. Not being able to ship it will be slashing the number of potential buyers.

Lastly more blurb. What’s the story of the bike? Why are you selling it? What is it like to own and ride? Last bit particularly important as few people will have experience of an RM so you’re asking people to take a punt. Add a link to geometrygeeks or something too.

Got to make an effort. You cannot sell it the way you would a £600 bike.

    Good luck!

Not really all-time but some which spring to mind.

The Limey – “Tell ‘im I’m facking camminnnng!”

Miami Vice – The shootout. I think because it’s shot documentary style and the sound is so visceral. The only movie shootout I’ve ever watched where I was actually kinda grimacing and shrinking into my seat. It feels like you’re in the scene.

Office Space – Peter’s interview with the Bobs.

Bell / Giro / Camelbak / Blackburn are owned by a company making guns and ammunition, and supporting the NRA.

Oh FFS. Giro helmets are the only make that fit my stupid head!

    https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2019/7/9/sold-vista-ceo-on-the-sale-of-savage-arms/

“If we’re not the largest industry supporter of the NRA we’re certainly one of the top and that will continue to remain the case. We own more than a dozen leading brands, all dedicated to Second Amendment supporters. It’s the crux of who we are and what we represent. You’ll see that support continue, even more so.”

Unfortunately in a private sale the seller’s only real obligation is to ensure the goods match the description provided.

On the subject of YT ISCG cracks though, a quick google suggest it’s not an isolated issue and if you check the first thread below, YT’s response matches the one you got from the seller verbatim.

Well you all seem to be having a rare old time. I’ll play the explorer I thought, and do 100 jumps en-route to the elephant’s trunk nebula. Scan a few tasty planets on the way I thought. What do I get for my trouble? 99.9% Rocks and ice. Not even a single solitary interdiction to spice things up. Now it’s a 50/50 between going back or just ploughing on.

Are the bearings prone to wear? Seems to be a common complaint with some of the newer models although I believe they do free replacements for life (original owner)

What sort of tyre clearance does the boost version offer? Aware older ones were 2.25 max

No bearing issues so far on my 2015 model. Not doing mad miles granted. Ardent Race 2.2 on the (non-boost) rear is tight but not problematic. I think it’s a fantastic bike. Bit of a rocket ship. Later models probably more so.

If anyone cares I just got a dispatch notification so any pitchforks may be withdrawn.

Yeah I took note of that when I was ordering. Problem (such as it is) is I’ve had neither an ‘expected delivery date’ nor an ‘estimated dispatch date’ which is all I’m after.

My 2012 Supersix was a lovely ride on 25c GP4000s but certainly not gravel capable for any kind of distance. As others have said, the clearance at the rear was very tight and I suspect any non-slick tyre would lead to trouble.

IKEA also very good warranty wise. They’re covered for 25 years against faults. Our 5 year old Hamarvik (or something) was starting to sag slightly. I thought ‘it’s worth a go’. They sent someone out to check it. He said it had a defect. One phone call to IKEA later and we picked out a new one for delivery, paying the difference if we wanted something more expensive. So keep the receipt!

In the current climate I’d be quite happy if my employer was paying for me to get training courses under my belt, even if done on my own time. Assuming the courses are useful that is.

I digress but why are the 5-year old ramblings of corrupt, thieving ideologue Liam Fox being edited to make them look current and suddenly doing the rounds again? There’s a question.

I’m assuming having plumped for 240mm the case has a location for 240mm fan? If so depending on the cooler, you may be able to mount the rad internally, and the fan externally, sandwiching the case. Snip the case grille out if so.

    What cooler is it?

edit: Or are we talking 2x120mm?

Breathability on the pakajak isn’t amazing but I’ve generally got a merino baselayer then some sort of jersey, so sweat gets wicked away and doesn’t bother me. if it really gets too warm I open the zip a bit.

That MTR thing might be the ticket. It looks like an MTB pakajak which is pretty much what i’m after.

    Rockplough

I’d seen them but they’re even lighter than the pakajak so I’m sceptical about durability.

My feature has been great in all respects except the padding, which is so minimal that sweat – dripping down inside my glasses – is an issue. Giro are my go-to for helmets for fit reasons, so I’m thinking about trying one of their newer offerings at some point.

If you liked the fit of the large why consider going up a size?

I’m not sure if this is good *because* it’s bad. It’s just kinda crappy and awesome at the same time. Killer tune though.

This on the other hand is terrible but I love it.

Love this too. All phantom instruments and smouldering looks. You have to respect their commitment to the performance.

Moved back to Android (S7 edge) recently after several iphones. Big differentiators for me are:

    – expandability via microSD
    – being able to drag and drop media
    – being able to play said media
    – being able to customise the UI to better suit my needs
    – industry standard connectors

I had faultless customer service from BT for my broadband, even from the offshore call-centre surprisingly. They had pretty good follow-up too. Only left them on cost grounds after the recent price hike.

Still don’t like them though, just on principle. 8)
