that is a fairly harsh statement…if a mag gives a bike an outstanding review then it is going to be very influencial to a prospective buyer in the market for a new bike. Test rides aren't always available (and a ride around the shop car park doesn't tell you much) in the specific size or model that you are pondering over. Forums have sprung up but how many people are realistically going to dismiss their own bike?
Mags are very influencial..why do manufacturers bother with them if not????

I can't comment on MBUK as it is way "out there" now. The fact that it came with the cheapest, most garish free gift sunglasses in the last issue put me off for life. Although I think the free gift in the sealed bag trick is to stop the Morrisons readers!

great ideas chaps…it's my turn to choose the route next week when my blackshaw head riding buddy comes to me so I might try and incorporate these into a mini killer loop from Sowerby Bridge.

Your advantage SSSTUis that you are clearly a regular at the shop. The above tale relays my first (and last) visit.

Aldi staff aren't likely to be passionate about their job. Bike shop staff would be you imagine and that would reflect in service.

They were talking bike talk. Possibly rep or similar. Yes I could have interupted their chat but that would prob have resulted in an even frostier service.

I used a £12 md80 camera mounted on the bars. Almost thruway at that price. Plenty of examples of footage on YouTube. Used mine in morzine a couple of weeks ago and for the 8 in our group it was a great silver…..souver…. Momentous.

Or buy the ritchey wet White finish components. Supposed to be v hardwearing but I can't see any white finish standing up to seat post adjustment.

never seen the late night ads referred to..oh no…don't watch late night telly but how expensice would it be to flirt by text at £1.50/go (I believe that is the charging rate, don't know as I have never seen such ads..) 8O..but the best of that bunch is the one if you are looking for a girlfriend over 50…text "mature" to 85656565 whatever it is. Can +50's use text!!!!
As a true yorkshire bloke any flirting would have to fit in a single sms message!

same experience as nickegg…took three pairs and the stock ones continued to perform…must remember that the a2z blue organic may not last come winter.

further update on my return from morzine…brakes were fine and responding fine for all three days…intersetingly, my brother's strokers pulled to the lever at the bottom of descents then gradually came back to normal.

so much for that…in three days solid of alps riding the stock pads with the brakes continued to perform perfect…didn't get to use the new pads and looking at how much meat is left on the strokers,\it might be a while yet!

movie maker worked…lost a bit of quality but much smaller file now on youtube.

mine varies as the lad who used to do mine left to set up a salon and x5 the price. I am now trawling the local barbers to find a good one but they are either yoof/too young and Mrs R didn't like the number 2 look when I tried it. Really difficult to find a good barber and have resorted to taking my 4 yr old and letting him go first. If he messes the lads hair then I pay up and leave. It sounds cruel but he has got soooo much hair it can be recovered. Mine is a little more precious! Current barber is £9 and seems to increase £1 everytime I visit.

I presume that a reduced file size will reduce the quality?????
Just managed to use movie maker to import the avi footage then edit and record back to a dv camcorder through a firewire cable. no loss of quality so just need to burn to dvd and should be ok to share to my mates the old fashioned way….giving them a disc!!!!
