That was kind of my point. They made sense until the front wheel moved out and the rear wheel moved in, then they didn’t. Now that the rear wheel has moved out to balance the bike they make sense again.

I am not sure they ever made sense. Even on the early Mondraker DH bikes they weren’t popular with the team riders if I recall.

I had one on my DH bike in like 1998 and it made an already short bike much shorter – but hey, it was cool at the time!

High rise zero reach stems have already been “a thing” at least twice in the last 25 years already. What goes around…

I highly doubt that sort of data, from so long ago has even been retained anywhere. I don’t think it would be appropriate or correct for it to be either.

I thought that the data retention period for motoring offences was like 10 years (and even that’s only for the most serious ones – less serious would be disposed of sooner).

I would definitely look at the Costa Brava – Tossa de Mar area has some great cycling on the doorstep.

Is Edinburgh closer to you than Luton?

Next Signature (wool) suits are decent for work. Range of fits/colours etc and are good quality for the price. Their tailored cut fits me bang on off the shelf. Only c.£230 or so.

What you want is a medium sized dog kennel like this – click me

I was away to buy one for my two large rabbits who were living in a large linked-together network of runs and smaller hutches (similar to set up above) but then a fox got in one night in October (I don’t even know how) and got our boy rabbit. The surviving one is currently indoors but when spring comes I will be getting her a new fella and the hutch (or similar) above.

Our garden is totally enclosed so during the day they just roam free but get locked up at night.

The plan is to insulate the indoor bit so that its winter proof too. Hopefully this one will be fox-proof too.

330d Touring would be my choice. Looks loads better than the 4 Series GC, plenty space for bikes (for a smallish car) and rapid enough.

A 335D would be even better.

I don’t think I’ve ever taken my wallet cycling with me.

The Digger is a great bike (and even better with 25% off). Don’t let a trivial (and it is trivial) spec change ruin the enjoyment of it. I am sure you will really enjoy the bike. I love mine and ride it so much more than I thought I would.

I bought a Digger over a year ago and I recall there was definitely a statement relating to potential spec changes subject to stock availability.

    I think you’re being unreasonable.

Aye. In my experience of Karcher you will very likely need to be able to get it repaired or replaced under warranty at some point so make sure you can do that!

There was a downhill race at Hillend years ago (1999ish?). It was a novelty but very short. Wasn’t repeated.

There are plenty decent looking cycling shoes for both flats and spds. I am still very much of an age where I care what my footwear looks like, and also lucky that by some miracle I seem to be able to function with regular shoes (like virtually everyone else in the world including most elite athletes).

Just a shame they look so hideous.

Well mine arrived today and they’re massive. I ordered large but they’re just too big.

I have not worn size medium anything since I was 14 but I think that’s what I need.

I’ve seen enough snow for a few months recently. Cold and fresh will do me fine.

Got offered a great price on a Breitling Superocean UK edition similar to one that I was close to buying a few months ago.

The UK edition comes with a black dial with navy blue bezel

It came on a bracelet but I popped it on a rubber band for now.

Enjoying it very much. Wears smaller than a 44mm I think.

Get it free through Sky. Some decent stuff on it – mayor of Kingstown, Yellowstone etc. would I pay for it as a standalone service? No.

My recent obsession with watches has led me down the path of Seiko modding.

So picked this SKX007J up from eBay this week. It’s in immaculate condition and just been serviced. The jubilee band it came on was cheap and horrible though so I swapped it out for a Bond NATO.

    I’m pretty chuffed with it.

Do you people wear these watches in public? Here in France they’ve become a target for thieves that’s enough of a trend to make the national news headlines

    It’s cool. I don’t live in France, unfortunately…

I would really love to live in France!

I really like the look of that Seiko but can’t help but think that it would look better on a rubber or nato strap. The leather looks almost too dressy for the size of it. Perhaps it’s just the angle of the photo.

Speaking of Seiko I have an SKX007j en route that I am going to tinker with (or pay someone to tinker with).

After much procrastination I decided against the Breitling Superocean and went for a Tudor Black Bay GMT instead.

Just a bit more versatile I think:

It is definitely chunky for a 41mm (particularly in height as mentioned above) but looks quite small on my wrist I think. I am used to much bigger watches mind you.

Lol. There’s about 400+ politics/royal threads that are all basically the same thread.

It’s just boring. Stale, tired and formulaic.

Much rather just watch Chris Harris vids on YouTube.

All the staged adventure/competition filler rubbish stopped being watchable about 8 years ago. It’s essentially the same concept every single episode.

Yeah I’ve climbed the Joux Plane in Mid day mid summer sun. There’s barely any shade. It’s brutal.

The 2018 etape nearby in Annecy was 30 degree plus too. Savage!

I arrived in Morzine that day in 2016 and remember the transfer from the airport being particularly sweaty as we were diverted via Thonon due to the Etape.

I feel that I’m using different leg muscle (or at least a slightly different ratio of quad to hamstring/glute) with a steeper st.

The pedals feel more under you with a steep st compared to in front of you with a slacker one.

I prefer this for pedalling steep climbs.

Perfectly reasonable to access if done considerately and responsibility.

Is the course maintained I.e cut greens etc?

If it’s potentially dangerous i would have expected it to be fenced off. Would you have to “break in” to access the path?

The faster you go, the rougher and tougher it gets – on bikes and bodies.

Thanks! Both lovely but the Tudor is very nice. Must be a different version of the Breitling.

This is the Breitling I was looking at. Not too busy which is why I liked it.

Hello. I’m no watch expert but find myself in the market for a dive watch. I am after some watch wisdom from those more in the know please.

I was interested in a Tudor but when looking at a few today I found them a bit small on my wrist (even in 42mm). I don’t know if it’s just that I am used to wearing a Garmin/Apple watch or if I’m just a bit vulgar but I like a chunky watch.

I then tried on a Breitling Superocean Automatic 44 (previous model not the brand new one) and really liked it.

Is there any reason I shouldn’t get a Breitling or is there anything else I should consider at similar money?
