I’m impressed with that actually, better than I could do.

    Mind how you go Op…

you’ll probably remember that Singletrack themselves gave a recommendation to the Lector Carbon 7700?

I’ve not seen any on trails yet though. It’ll be interesting to find out if they’re popular on here!

You thinking of getting one Ton?

Surely pimpin a ride requires nothing more than upgrading to non standard parts? If it’s shiny then all the better. Gold is cool IMO and those wheels on the Trek Top Fuel are pimpin as…

hey all, i wasn’t touting for comments on mine. I did expect a few remarks on ‘I hate that’ etc but all i wanted was pics of your efforts!

What i see I like so far 😉

Well LoCo mate, I’d like you to make it better… It probably does need a service anyway. I bought it ‘on bike’ a year ago and I doubt it’s been done since new, 2008 model. 😳

I’m 12 stones flat. I ride faster than most others I ride with and terrain is mostly sandy, rocky (not beachy) singletrack. It doesn’t bottom out, feels mostly supple and pro-pedal is a well used feature.

Like I said, bike is an 2008 Trek Fuel EX8 with medium compression tune RP2.

    Thoughts?

    Edit

Can you make it really supple without it bobbing when I pedal?

That Foes looks ‘The Boy’ in Black!

I wouldn’t buy a bike with no curves, they look old. I like image as well as ride quality in my bikes.

To quote one design engineer in relation to the UK’s most popular 140mm bike, i.e. the one he designed: “when we made that top tube kinked, we had to make that tube twice as heavy to make it just as strong and the only reason we had to make it kinked is because that’s what the marketing department told us the customer was demanding”.

Nice to hear the truth! Who/which bike please?

I wonder about tunes. I have an RP2 on my Trek Fuel and although it’s good, can it be better? How would I know what I want? It’s supple, good platform etc.

How do I tell if it could be better?

    LoCo?

sounds good to me but I’m uninitiated so far, even with Arch EX. reason being, I’m worried that I can’t swap tires easily… I’m always swapping tires.

    Hi all,

Well, the new forks are now ordered (Rev Blackbox 150mm bolt thru) and I’ll be fitting and enjoying the lack of brake dive hopefully.

Can anyone tell me that Rev’s feel better than Fox RL’s please? 😉

Glad there’s more than one said Arch EX on Hope Pro2 Evo as that’s what I have.

They’ve been faultless and I’ve had 2.4’s on with no problem and good shape. I think they’d stand up to most things too but as said they’re more expensive as they’re not ‘Hoops’. Worth the extra for the bling white rims on red hubs though… 😉

I just use my Scarpa SL’s. very waterproof and stiff too. A proper winter boot that sticks like a 510 to my Flatboy pedals.

A quick warning, I went for Goodridge gear cable kit and its 5mm not 4 mm as usual. It didn’t fit my frame so I can’t use it! Damn it!

Thanks Roschach, 3 years for a 5’s warranty is pretty poor don’t you think.

OP, I feel gutted for you mate, really.

Damn it, my dream bike is a 5 but will I **** buy if has a crap warranty.

They’re all hand built, thought that meant better overall?

What’s the replacement policy like if you **** one after a year/2years?

Does the Fender Bender protect you as much as a Crud Catcher?

    No.

well, yes for me but it all depends on how fast you ride. MN works better than CC if you are faster, just by design…

Same tires, same rims and guess what… same track pump too. No problem for me TBH.

    Are the tires brand new?

My tires seem to pop into the rim at just over 40 PSI if that helps. May be a problem with the pump?

    Good luck.

I downloaded a copy on my Iphone. Rubbish IMO. may be it just misses something when digital though, still at £5.90 (or close) it should be better.

Will not pay £9 for the actual magazine now.

Stick with Singletrack BUT even that has gone downhill (pun intended) since the new look. Yes, it looks better but content is not as good. Where is Ed Oxley for instance? And that lass Jenny doing the Mega training, my mam can ride with more confidence – trust her review, do you? 🙄

I reckon Dirt is still worth the money.

My latest creak was the chain-ring bolts not being tight enough. Has Halfords install a new chain-ring for me and it seems they didn’t do the job properly. I took it back to find out they didn’t even have the tool to hold the back cap! Did it myself… I’m mentioning this because mine only creaked when I pedaled not when I bounced. It was a full suss by the way.

Hope you get sorted, I understand the pain. If you can’t find it wear your walkman.

I’ve got no experience of either BUT from what other experienced riders on STW have said about Whyte’s recently… Stay well clear I reckon. Pity though, I’m a patriotic kinda guy. 🙄

I lost the fat Velcro strap for my MagicShine battery so need something like this. I did email them directly but they haven’t answered in a week.

Love the light, don’t think much of the after sales so far… Maybe I’ll have to stick it in a bottle? Pretty sure you can’t buy the strap as a spare!

Akrigg for me too. Although I can’t fault DMc I find he’s just not as creative, somehow.

    I can’t even manual though so I shouldn’t judge… 😉
