That post by Allthepies: wow, adjustable handlebars – whatever next? 8O

Renthal: best I’ve had. Pay the £40 it’s worth it… Quality is great, well, rather it’s bloody excellent. I love the colour too. :D

@Farticus: I can’t understand how you’ve had problems. 8O I certainly have not. Maybe a drop of Loctite would help you out…

@ swoosh: oops, I just bought a Superstar 1 x9 for a square taper… using a Renthal chain ring, will I definitely have problems? Can I use it at all?

@ bullheart: I second your opinion but let’s make it double ****…

I think a full & humble apology will be a start but probably not enough, let’s see what the lads at J.C Cycles think about slander. Just so you know, most businesses do not like slander when they are genuinely trying to do the best for you!

old post but I thought this may help someone…

I ride a 14 inch frame & I’m 5,11. use a 400mm seat post maxed out but safe… I’ve got average size legs too so a 14 shouls be fine for someone who’s upto my height. top tube is 22.2 so quite short but I run a 70mm stem & have no real bother.

    stay safe…

these look lush, off topic slightly but are they in any way comparable to a kenisis pha5e – seriously? I know it’s ali but apart from that? Anyone?

@Forza: your skill with polishing is clearly amazing… did your wrist hurt or are you used to it? Looks lush…

@ Hobnob: ‘the majority of users do not understand the way it works’

is this shock is so complicated that only you understand it? Frankly, I’m offended. It’s a shock, not a nuclear reactor.

That Scalpel is damn sexy, good luck to yer…

@cheifgrooveguru: that my friend, is the wisest statement made on this thread. One rider of 10 stone & 5 foot 10 will not feel the same handling as one that’s 14 stone… not only that, ride style, smoothness etc has everything to do with ride quality & how the frame feels to an individual.

a stiff back end can be made to ‘skip over the rough but another rider who sits down for all terrain will say ‘too stiff, jarring, teeth shattering’…

unfortunately, that helps in no way what so ever…

That black & gold Scalpel is the sexiest bike I’ve ever seen, Devinci closely follows.

I seem to remember an Orange bike (maybe P7) in Singletrack. It had triple crown forks & a dropper that looked realllly long. I thought at the time, what a great idea! Now I’m copying that idea somewhat because I guess these lads know what they’re doing…

small bikes look cool & should ride well too. (opinion only)…

@Moniex: er, I’ve got the small & it just got purchased today. I thought that having this would be fine, wanted a small & the top tube is fine at 22.2… my 8 year old son could also ride it, he already rides the medium SC Nomad with the seat down.

I hope my Fox Talas 140mm don’t have this problem, I take it that it’s all in the headset?

If you find the answer, please tell me & good luck. If mine fit ok I will let you know my set up & send you pics.

If i wanted to run a 400mm in a 14 inch frame, 100mm in the frame, is that going to be okay? what’s the limit regarding leverage?

    robsoctane

@kevin1911: Thanks for that. I have Fox 140mm Talas, so they should fit the bill perfectly. I use Maxxis HR 3.25 so will stick 30psi in the back as you recommend. That should be enough, right?

Would be great to see a pic & as I said, one it’s built, I’ll post here so anyone interested can see my effort…

The mmmbop: in which way did it handle better? I do realise that it’s all relative of course!

    Cheers Kevin mate.

@ uplink, thanks for that but they were the prime culprits. ‘we’re not a Fox dealer’

‘tell me the right size to buy please & I’ll go get them, can you put them in’?

    ‘NO’ KB Cycles.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, I will call the above.

ST’s are pretty awsome & my front lasts a good 4 months with riding daily of about 1hr but 3 each weekend day. HR SS on back equals out the drag in my opinion…

I agree with Geda in a way – just imagine if you had access to these trails on a regular basis? Not dissin’ the kids though – well done to them, little rippas…

I do think we’d all be better riders if that was our ‘back yard’.

@weejase – please tell me more about that frame, I have never seen a better lookin Orange 5! is it just because it’s a small? Bloody beautiful mate!!!

    an update for you’s…

I got hold of a 2mm key & it round both straight away! I got them both out though (easily) by hammering a slightly larger torx into the hole. worked a treat.

they tightened properly too. Job done & many thanks to all. I will contact hope & upgrade the bolts to torx heads.

TandemJeremy has posted the correct picture & thanks so much! 2mm it is.

Thanks for all the help & I really didn’t expect this much help (or dispute).

    you are a good bunch.

thanks again, they may be 2mm yes. I know they are not rounded, I can see they are so far untouched. I know they aren’t 2.5 because thats what I use on the lever to adjust the reach so I tried that already…

would like to post a picture but it’s genuinely to hard for me at the minute.

Amazing that so any have already helped, thanks again everyone!!!

@ B.A.Nana – that is a very interesting point. How did the Olly B do? I thought he was always in with a chance? I do wish we had some superhumans like Peaty in XC too.
