I’ve got Goodridge white cables, worth the extra bit in my opinion. You should be very happy. If you are able to run them as full length they’re really smooth & look the business…

Mongoose Freedrive again, they look wrong & the bloody bottom bracket moves???

Then again I’ve seen Chris Akrig ride one & he obviously does it some justice. 8O

I noticed a difference between standard rotor & Hope floaters… about £20 & clearance issues… Bling is the thing though.

Braided hoses, they do last longer, given you ride hard enough, crash enough because of it & don’t want to keep replacing.

@simonbarnes: Just what the LBS said when I asked to buy one… Was Halfords bike shop mind!

    Thanks to all! :D

I think that Jack at Lynskey is doing a very poor job with his communication skills. Who’d want to buy into the Lynskey brand with a potential like this, then to be faced with Jack… oh dear.

@kaesae: Thanks for the reply. My wheels are 1.5 years old & have never been serviced. Simply, I’ve never needed to before now. The back moves just a tad, maybe 2mm at most but you can certainly feel it. They’ve seen a lot of use, I ride every day on single track & hammer them to be honest. Being only 10.8 stones I’ve not experienced the problems that heavier riders sometimes have with these ones, they seem fairly tough.

Cheers, any help would be appreciated. :D

WTF 8O who thinks of the prices, they must be funding the new CAD machine!

    Bloody disgrace I think!

You can even get bling carbon effect ones

@ Don Simon: No offence meant at all but that doesn’t answer my question really… Unless what you’re saying is the finish line is at the top of the mountain & he doesn’t need any more protection.

Remember, I’m a total beginner in the rules & tactics.

@Radoggair: I get what you’re saying & a great explanation too, thanks. Something I don’t get though… If the Captain is protected by the Peleton & does nothing special until he spots his time to climb, he must leave the Peleton, right?

If said Capitan gains a good lead on his team & gets to the top of the mountain first, how is he protected after that? Does he slow down & wait for protection to catch up?

I snapped a Thomson seat post, not running it ‘wrong’ – they are not bomb proof.

Hope looks great I think, plus it’s British…

@Scottpat06: lots of mud will weigh a lot more than 4 steel bike bolts, surely? I’ve heard of more expensive ways to save weight, just saying. Go get the missus’s Lady shave, you might like it!

Feels lush climbing into bed, the feel of the sheets against my freshly shaven legs… oooh.

Hair can stick through Lycra & it does become irritating.

140mm for a HT is gnnarrr… but fun too, just watch the head angle. If you put a 140mm fork on a 70 degree head angle HT frame, problems all the way (down hill). Dive & it’ll quite quickly turn to too steep & over you may go IME.

@Scottpat06: The mud doesn’t stick so easy, less weight – right?

I think they’re a bit overkill for most of us… Have you seen the motor cross neck rolls for £20? surely they’re just as good but not as fashionable. I hate how MTBing is so full of fashion! it’s

    Buy British?

No other headset is better in my opinion, tried lots & the seals seem better on the Hope. Great that it has a split fork race too. All those colours, CNC machining looks great too.

    Buy British!

I’ve got the Easton pedals, Flatboys? they’re lush, totally right for me. Sticky & con-caved perfectly. don’t think that they’re particularly light though. No concern to me.

running smooth for 2 years so far…

I’ve always enjoyed the local golf course for a cheeky blast… them sandy jumps are lush!

No one else seems to appreciate me joining in though, I’ve had people who would be considered well-to-do blast golf balls at me!!

    People eh?

@Iamsam: I’ve just built up my Pha5e & I’ve got to say that I love it! I’m 5.10” & have the 14” frame so it’s on the small side, the way I want it.

Super stiff back end but the seat post is so long (I use a 400mm maxed out) that it feels comfortable enough. I’ve got Talas 140mm too which suit great.

All in all, I’ve only spent about 1.3k on it to build it the way I want, again – it’s lush! One mod to the frame I made: I got a Dremmel & drilled out the cable routing fully so I could get a full length gear cable to the back. It did the job & I’m now on the look out for a tin of anti radar green to tidy up.

I wish I knew how to post pictures on here with ease, I’d love to show it off, it has what I consider to be the prettiest ass of any hard tail.

Does anyone know the head angle? It does feel tighter than my Scott Octane (that’s set up to 67 degrees) & I know it’s tighter than my SC Nomad.

    stay safe everyone.

    Hi all,

a very quick line I heard a while ago… ‘sell a good product & the buyer may tell one about the experience, sell one that’s not so good & the buyer will tell everyone they know’ on the internet that can be a lot of folk.

I have bought Kevlar pads: mint
    sintered pads: mint
XCR device: got an email saying it was dispatched yesterday, today I got an email saying it’s out of stock? Hmmm. Dave at Tibolts is a nice chap & helps how he can.

I think that we should all support Superstar, they’re one of those companies that should get praise for; dare I say it… keeping it real?

    stay safe everyone.
