@ Blazzin: Thanks for the news & that’s exactly what I’m gonna do mate.

Best to get problems ironed out before we all buy so I guess that it’s fine.

    I love Hope. :D

it’s August 2011 & I’m looking at a new back wheel. I want to buy one of Hope’s new cassette designs on the evo 2 but can’t find them. What happened..?

@Trout: That said mate, please link me to your work, I’m not scared of building & would like to support locals if viable… Long live the UK market, right?

I’ve heard Trout & light together a lot… He makes lights & lots love them, right? are his prices & quality comparable to the above deals?

I need a new mega power light & don’t want to spend marketer’s phone number prices… I’m bleeping sick of that.

Sorry if this is a repeat, probably is…

Easton Flatboys: You better hope that you never need to change the bearings, no spares set & bugger all help from Easton. The bearings are superb but everything dies eventually.

Your only chance, (for anyone listening) is to strip them out & take them to a bearing outlet, outside is sealed cartridge, the inboard is needle roller style.

@iain1775: Do you really think that half of these guys have been out on rides yesterday, I think it’s more likely that they’ve sat in the garden polishing their thomson seat-posts up & down thinking of days gone by…

busy fathers are excused but the rest of you type too much!

The flames are hot (especially those pictures) but this is a serious issue…What if your kid came back home & said that a shop assistant got verbal & threatening?

‘I didn’t have enough wedge dad & he wanted to smack me because I’m smaller than him & I asked too many questions’ – ‘It’s okay son, most treat young’ns like you with contempt, get used to it’.

    I doubt it…

I think that hits is right. Stop cruelt to children with all of your might. Teach your kids this is right. Hope they’ll feel the same one day.

You lot maybe the type to walk away or stay quiet but I for one am glad that there’s still some decent folk out there.

@beanierripper, that’s interesting… I wonder what others think? forgiving set up… that sounds like something that needs to be thought about.

@clubber: That’s what i thought but needed someone else to say, I’m gonna have to try someone else’s before I splash out.

I can’t think of a time when my wheel/fork (QR) felt like it stumbled to the side… anyone?

That looks really neat – well done! I’d love to try this myself on a commuter.

I may get a commuter when I turn 40 odd, when I pootle instead of ride, I know it’s coming… Nowt wrong with change, eh?

I’ve got a mask made by Gore bike wear, it’s ace for winter but I think it’d be too hot for fly denial. I’m more bothered about wasps & bees in my helmet vents. Only happened once but I always think about it when I put on my lid… 8O

Hope mono6 for me,they need to be set up right but when they are – wow. You can get a good deal second hand too. I use Superstar Kevlar pads & they’re ace. I’ve no problems to report. Oh, Goodridge braided hose & 203mm floating discs. Bling!

@JonEdwards: Seems like sound advice. I’m hearing Stans every time…

Think I may go down the Pro2/Arch Route, seems sensible. Can’t believe the prices, excellent value, I don’t say that much.

@baron: they sound ace – yes I regularly drop that distance, it’s on a loop I do most weekends… why’s that not CX? My Macic Crossrides have coped fine with that drop for nearly 2 years but I am light…ish!

I’m going to have a look at your wheel set up mate.

EDIT: Why’s that not XC?

@toys19: you’d be half right too, other half is the cable pull stroke is much longer (than Shimano) so every things more easy to fine tune & stay put. I wish I had SRAM…

you’ve put bigger forks on – higher BB. Decrease the head angle & you’ll change the wheel base, making it longer… that’ll drop the BB a tad. Hope it goes back to where it was for ya. Sounds like a plan bud.

I have a good life, married for 8 years & 1 child aged 7. I share responsibility throughout lifestyle & respect plans. I get to ride whenever I like because my wife, bless her, knows that I love it.

What loving partner would deny you something which you like to do if you have been pulling your weight in the house? That’s just unfair…
