Really, you’s reckon? If I was in that position and at least fancied my chance I would have smacked the biggest one… always works.

In the forest, no one will hear them scream.

I do think you handled it in the correct manner though, I’m a bit of a ‘hot head’ – some say dick! 😉

I enjoyed 18 miles around my local woods (Kong Woods near Pelton fell). It was windy but that helped dry the place up a bit. Still got covered in mud of course but that’s half the fun.

Loving my new Trek Fuel EX! 😀

I think the cheapest and possibly the best way of keeping fork sanctions in good fettle is to use a fender bender. I can’t see dirt getting in on mine… use this with Enduro seals and you’ll be laughing all the way to the service centre only once every other year, perhaps?

    It’s worked for me anyhow.

Any open bearing needs a space usually equal to the size of a ball to work to its potential. Check the hope website, to make sure your cat has lost one you might be surprised. . You can purchase spare ball bearings from any bearing supplier – check the net. Take one so they can measure it up.

You could count the amount of balls on the bottom race?

If this reply was any help, buy yourself a big dog instead… they don’t jump as high mate!

    good luck.

    Hi All,

Kong woods – my secret perfect place! get on the c2c cycle path moving west towards Beamish. Before you get there you’ll be riding past art by Anthony Gormley who did the Angel of the North. there’s a snake which you can ride then the next is a huge face nick named King Cole. It’s here you turn left and this brings you in to Pelton fell. Behind Pelton fell is a wood – Kong woods. Now, go through the woods and you’ll get to Waldridge fell. it’s all magic riding but Kong is strong.

NorthshoreNiall – I’ll email you today mate, ta.

Billy bull – I’m not on Facebook, ooops. 😳

GeordiePaul – I will see you soon, ta.

User-removed – I’ll take you whenever mate – Night ride tonight?

At last, can’t wait to meet some of you lot!!! 😀 my email is in my profile so you can contact me whenever. Join my circles on Google+ and you’ll see it all mapped out.

I spent £40 for the next day delivery of my new Trek. I had to collect it myself 6 days later at a cost of a further £40 in a bloody taxi. It went from Surrey to Midlands – to Surrey – to Midlands – to Newcastle. Tracked it, called, ‘We can’t deliver it on a Saturday, you didn’t pay for a Saturday delivery’.

    Parcel Farce indeed.

Perfect, ta. I live in Washington so I’m pretty close to Beamish, just a 7 mile ride on the c2c cycle path. where are you NorthshoreNiall? Maybe we could meet up for a ride? I know some amazing local rides – Kong woods is like a trail centre without people! 😀

Great video. Seems like they are my type of lads to be fair, I’m a bit of a tit sometimes, I’ve heard. Would love to go out on a ride with that lot.

why would you need funding that comes from anyone other than yourself if you have a mobility issue? Is this trolling or am I really missing a point here? NO OFFENCE INTENDED.

Thanks a lot all of you.

    Sambob:

Not that you’d be using a big tyre in the back of a Fuel EX 8, it wont fit

Will my Maxxis HR 2.3 fit, seems like you’ll know mate! 😉

I watch the Simpsons with my 8 year old son after work/school. Not much else to be fair. A lot more you tube and net in general than TV. I really do despise paying for a licence (but I do).

I like to watch Kink.com with the wife online though – can’t get that on TV. 😉

most people I know don’t use them at all and don’t seem to be in any way disadvantaged

That’s me! My local is crap. I don’t drive so can’t take advantage of those further a field either. 😯

    Hi all,

I’m a relatively new Endomondo user and have got my head round all of the features… very useful – love it.

I lack riding buddies, so no pep talks etc. I really feel like im missing out so – anyone want to make friends? 😉

How do we do it exactly?

    Thanks in advance.

Bin the standard rotor, tis crap. I use the sd7’s too and I think that they do help a lot with modulation. My BB7’s feel better than my other juicy 5’s too… always used Goodridge outer cable for the cable, much better than ‘standard’.

I’m loving my HTC Desire HD – Endomondo app. Free version BTW…

Battery life sucks on my phone anyway but I do get about 4 hours so it’s good for most rides.

My question is – do I pay data charges when it’s running without WIFI? If so, I’m on Orange, anyone got an idea?

    Many thanks.

My god! STW does have a brain! so many times I’ve seen the unessential piss taken. This time most jump to defend, well done.

That lad looks like he’s gonna need a brace doing those speeds… nice one!

Well done to the OP. What a great find… May get some of the glasses mentioned too! My gloves are on order, so thanks again!!!

MTB gloves are silly expensive, best alternative I’ve found so far are Socal MX gloves at £6 on eBay but these do look even better.

    I’ve tried 661 – crap
Giro – not good enough for the £
    Fox – ahahahhaah

I am happy now though! 😀

i read in Dirt that this mod was making their Orange 5 a bigger bike beater. What else would you expect though… Best bike, best shock etc. They reckon theirs could keep up and in some cases destroy 180mm bikes!

    Have fun 😉

Ok then, if you’d like to more of an idea they are hosting ‘events’ next year. 40 of which will cover cycling. I’m glad that some people have already partaken in the events.

I just knew that STW would have a good turn out… 😀

I’m interested in this no less because I’ve just bought 2 new jackets.

I can vouch for Columbia – Crag Mountain 2 softshell[/b]. very warm, very water and windproof. I had my first one for 7 years but changed it 2 weeks ago.

I cannot vouch for Altura Nightvision waterproof. Only last night I was soaked in my ‘waterproof’ from the outside. Rain soaked through the shoulders and wetteed me out. Now £45 is not much but the point is if it says ‘waterproof’ it should be!

@elf: thanks for the tip – should have mentioned the frame is my Pha5e so clearance in NOT an issue. May well go for one in 2.3 from Paul above. Any other suggestions anyone?

@float: have you ever used survivals over verticals? Anyone else?

    I know experience is king… 😉

If your Magicshine 872 is heating up too much and dropping to a lower setting, just ride faster. 🙄

Mine’s never done this but it still is pretty new – and I’m a power light virgin.

I don’t know how to compare all those lights out there but I will say that I love Magicshine now! 😀
