Why are you on a thread not about ebikes geex?

I completely get it, I also get the merits of having a nice car.

    Lovely smell.

This is a key component of a decent mag.

to be fair, if your going build a business reselling Chinese wheels at a big markup, you better make sure you have your marketing/customer service on point,

Meh I’ve read this a few times but I’m still failing to see where the huge mark up is vs other resellers with novatec hubs etc.

I bought a pair of Trail Wides which replaced a custom built set of Hope/Arc 30s, no discernible drop in quality, a great wheelset so far and would have no issue recommending.

Used to want a Rolex, until I discovered their build quality was iffy

Your opinion on asshatery is you’re own but we both know that’s not true.

No flames here, a lesson for all to heed. Hope the ban doesn’t cause too much of a negative impact for you, a harsh but understandable punishment unfortunately.

I’ve got a Red Black Bay, love it, wear it daily. Have a rubber strap from RubberB if I fancy something different to the metal/NATO.

The pound goes about $1.70 can at them moment. Ergo each pound is worth twice as much in dollars

That’s not how foreign exchange works.

    robowns

Obviously depends on what he buys but simply the fact that he is paying in pounds effectively makes his money go twice as far

    Eh?

Hmm… nice to know. as that’s a slower average speed than I generally ride at off road in soft conditions and wind round here E’d up.

    That’s nothing, I can do 45 on a moped.

Geex you’ve commented on this thread multiple times and not mentioned ebikes once. What’s happened mate?

Must say I’m surprised by this thread, does anyone really care that much about a drone flying in the vicinity? Seems a small thing to be riled about.

I am a big advocate of shiny–itus, having not long built up an Evil Following MB. I’m not going to feed you loads of BS about how more expensive bikes are better (they are but it’s very very marginal), but what I will say is that having a bike you affiliate with makes you want to ride more, and that is probably worth the increase in cost if you can afford it.

If not, ride what you’ve got and you’ll still have just as fun a ride.

So they look crap, ride crap and break? It’s a no from me.

You’re all right on steel vs titanium, but sometimes it’s nice to buy something nice.

Black Mirror is brilliant, also loved Final Space.

Amazon is absolutely dire, I pay for Prime and don’t even bother with it.

Are there two VanMoofs?  I assumed that the name was ironically the Dutch for fugly but I’m clearly wrong.  I do confess however to finding it difficult to get beyond advertising lines such as ‘we want to change the world’,’the disposable economy is hurting our planet’ and ‘we ride outside the box’.

    So true. Woke.

You can get 20% or 40% immediate return from the tax man by putting it into a pension.

Not quite true if you’ve already got the cash.

Yep, just bought an Evil Following MB without having ever ridden a 29er (well new frame, forks and wheels, the rest came from my Banshee Spitfire). A fair blind commitment given the cost at roughly 4k.

I like it; rolls great and you just have to manhandle it into corners a bit more. They’re really not all that different in my opinion, you can get used to the nuances pretty quickly.

There’s some false economic in here; spending an extra £10k to save £300 a year on fuel. Doesn’t work chaps

I’ll pass on the boring electric/hybrid cars for now whilst I can get 40mpg out of a 3l petrol engine. Can’t say I miss the extra £20 a month I spend on petrol.

As above, Evil Following. No point going long travel 29; following will do days away and will also be good for local riding .

I’m addicted, as has already been said, it’s often available cheaper elsewhere but the convenience is worth it.

I’m more relaxed on the tax dodging, if they weren’t doing it here they’d be doing it somewhere else and not employing a lot of people in the UK. The issue is not the company, it’s the law, but you change it and you risk the above.

Do people really change chains that often? I’d probably get 2000 offroad miles out of one

Is it a pre preemptive sweetener to make you go away because they have now realised Mrs egf can take them to the cleaners?

Damn right, take them to the cleaners. Who do they think they are, giving people information on a product and then asking that they sign the documentation to confirm that they understand the commitment and agree to it.

    Scum the lot of em.

I had an STX22, it was plush but leaked air – sent it back and the shop told me that they’d had nearly all of the ones they’d sold back and wouldn’t be selling them anymore.

Public sector services being outsourced to the private sector costs taxpayers for director salaries and divis, but the public sector running itself costs taxpayers more in complete inefficiency and incompetence.

I’m a couple of tube stops away in Wanstead; regularly ride up to Epping Forest which is great when you learn enough of the many decent bits. I’m not around tomorrow but will keep an eye on this thread.

I’ve got a revive, it’s great but I do end up having to revive it regularly (probably my fault for chucking it in the boot of my car/putting my bike upside down).

I’m baffled people really think like this. Skidding around manmade corners in a muddy woods? They’ll dissapear after a week of rain. If this is a cause of concern for you I really don’t know how you deal with any of the (many) more important issues.
