The 1x gravel bike is actually my favourite bike. Plenty of range and the jumps between gears are surprisingly OK.

How about on the road Sola? Getting a gravel bike as my only bike and debating 1x Vs 2x, either will be AXS. I’m historically an MTBer and never minded 1x in there, but the small gaps are nice on the road.

Riding in the gravel bike will probably be 70/30 road/off.

I’ve for an m135i, 3ltr 320bhp.

It’s brilliant, does 40mpg on the motorway because it’s 8 speed, but also does some fine local trips at 18mpg. Fortunately I live in London and it sits there 95% of the time.

At the same time I think it’s shocking what early stage police/nurses/paramedics/even doctors get paid. I realised the situation about 5 years back; went to get in my car to go to the gym after work (parked at the side of the road). Strolled up, looked over, it had been completely written off, whole back end caved in. I had a note explaining the make, model and colour and half of their numberplate. Police couldn’t do a thing without it being on CCTV.

@merak not yet but looks straight forward, all you’re doing is removing the indexing mechanism leaving the cable to pull. The only challenge is that you’ll need the cable to insert from the lever end, so you’ll need a dropper like a KS.

I’m in the market for a gravel bike with 27.2, my research has led me to the 1x SRAM lever mod, just take a few bits out and you can use the left shift lever as a dropper remote, should be tidy. Doesn’t help if you’re Shimano mind.

Spend the money on a half decent one release back gfx card like a Geforce 10xx, an SSD and 8gn RAM minimum (uber cheap now anyway).

The problem going super cheap with a view to upgrade means you’ll end up spending more in the long run and may have comparability issues, ie. wrong gpu socket/not enough power connectors on your PSU.

Just watched all 5 episodes of The Devil Next Door on Netflix – like Making a Murderer but based on the trial of a suspected Nazi war criminal. Realised how little I knew about it and it was quite sobering, I’ve spent all evening googling more information.

Would highly recommend to all those that can handle a bit of genuine imagery from the concentration camps.

Watched the first episode yesterday, was more of the same, which is a good thing.
