Anyone else have problems with hope black hoses fraying the white material occasionally when cutting, I use decent hose cutters and replace them regularly, never had problems cutting other hoses, currently using uberbikes hoses which cut perfectly, slightly smaller ID but I use a jagwire barb installation tool, goes in nice n easy, one of my fave tools.
Always hated the look of braided hoses, would never use them, pointless pita, imo.

I tried blue seal bearings years ago, agree with boomerlives, not durable, despite quality grease and decent seals and I cant find any abec3 abec5 standards mentioned on their ebay site.
Personally I’d stick to the decent brands. Enduro and Enduro max for frame pivots are my go to. Pricing up at simplybearings for my hubs and frames made me shout f#!k that, every bearing was overpriced, it’s a ten minute bike ride from my place and I still won’t use them.

Cheers, ordering Hope microspline hubs, really good prices.

Winstanleys in Wigan, cheaper than kinetic for enduro, simply bearings prices aren’t good.

So if you buy a bike off the showroom floor at the bike shop, can you demand a slight refund if they’ve already binned the box.
Everything boxed or packaged must have a hidden charge, but calling it a bike guard and charging £18 is a liberty.

Just get fox, it’s not like they won’t fit.😀
I’ve always questioned the ease of getting spares for the other brands, probably why I always stick with rockshox.

Get some 2×2 timber and make a beefy frame for the door, it give the hinges something sturdy to bolt to and you can also fit a proper mortice lock, I have done this and it’s got a sturdy hasp and padlock too, you can get cheap battery motion detect alarms, I got one from b&m for less than a tenner, 120db. I’ve also got a chain diagonally across the door frame internally so that’s stopping any thief while the alarms going off if they manage to get through both locks undetected with a security light lighting them up. My shed has also got built in benches and shelf units so it’s practically reinforces everywhere, even the roof.

Direct mount hanger will cause issues, but why go shimano 12sp then not use shimano chain, you’re losing the hg+ advantage, seems like a dumb move.

Isn’t WD40/GT85 on a washing up sponge the best for removing sticky stuff, followed up with hot soapy water then a good blast of disc brake cleaner.

Sram will always win the OEM war because they undercut shimano and make it back on the frankly overpriced replacements. Thats the thing with sram equipped bikes, it costs a shit load more to replace your worn out bits, XT equipped bikes seem to be less value for money but I’d rather stick with shimano, the HG+ is bringing more people back to shimano now they’re both 12sp, it’ll be interesting if/when deore goes 12 speed. What’s the next step, does anybody want to see 13sp, I don’t.

epicyclo, for someone who doesn’t particularly follow dh and isnt interested in it you seem very passionate about it or maybe just Tracey, so you think Tracey is the best rider on the circuit, you’re entitled to your opinion but you were easily triggered by an inoffensive opinion and facts so stop bickering, it’s hijacking the post. IMO Last seasons women’s cup was a bit of a damp squib, anyway let’s get back to Tahnee.

Grub screw reach adjust on the piston rod going through the black barrel on the lever blade, just visible on picture. A bit late, sorry.

They’re nothing special and all the same from what I have seen, any high quality M6 socket or taper head will do, always use the washers as it’s quite a high torque, I always swap mine out for some lovely uberbike ti ones, the rainbow version look awesome.

Got the blue draco auriga ones for a fixing up an old bike, simple swap over with the hoses as they need shortening anyway. Came with rotors and adapters and all the bolts £23.98 for all that, amazing. No box just bubble wrapped.

Has anybody heard about prices yet, given that a 160 robot bikes frame was about £4 grand, what do we think the price of a DH frame is gonna be and what would be too much, any thoughts or guesses.
I’d love to know how much Piers Linney has spent so far on production, R&D, one racing season, travel, riders salaries plus mechanics, physio’s etc. How much of his 85 million has he allocated to this venture, surely he’s got his fingers in many other pies.

Try asking on a more roadie orientated forum, singletrack should be about off road, hence the name. Not trying to be a smart arse or hater, it’s a valid point.

Probably a tad loose beforehand and the shock from the crash just brought it to your attention, a little drop of fluid then nothing after tightening suggests no problem, the same happens when altering hose angle at the caliper end which can result in a drop of fluid around the copper washer, it wont really affect performance. You’ll be surprised how long some people go without bleeding their brakes, even after shortening the hose, also for peace of mind get a jewellers loupe off eBay to inspect for any cracks, they’re great for seeing if something just a scratch or a crack.

I can always get my ring off without removing my crank, it’s always worth trying first, then again if its been a while, a good inspection and re grease wouldn’t hurt.

Jesus christ dude, that is not only extremely worn but extremely lethal, looks sharper than half of my saws.
That could slice open a femural artery with ease in a crash.

The last time I bought shimano brakes I didn’t get any bolts, they were OEM though, without boxes.
I’m guessing those thingies go over the bolt heads so you can see if the bolts come loose, a bit like those yellow arrows on bus wheel nuts. I always pimp my brakes with ti bolts and avoid the rust like on those avid ones.

    robo89

Hope tell you to wind everything out before bleeding, so I guess it’s the same for all bite point and reach adjusters, it gives you more throw to pump more fluid through, probably.

Disco brakes, last long, no squeal, my mate bought a load and give me a pair that have lasted ages, just check the reviews. I’m definately gonna buy some more.

As previously suggested, just get some 18mm or 20mm M6 bolts, uberbikes have some nice titanium ones, chuck the avid brakes and cone washers in the bin. Simple, don’t see any problem, whats happening when the new calipers are put straight on the adapters.

Berms are making riders crap at cornering and dealing with off camber sections on natural trails.

Just check your back end can go the extra distant without interference issues like tyre buzz on the saddle, I did something similar years ago with a kona and the linkage hit my Hope seatclamp, lucky I checked first with the shock off.

Nukeproof horizon alloy bar n stem is really nice, subtle shiny graphics on shot peened bar, sweep feels great, I was weary at first as I used to run answers and raceface bars with 8°, 4° but they are spot on. The stem is superb, nice n wide bar clamp with no gap on the top bolts. Burgtec stem cap and coloured bolt finish it off nicely.
