I have to admit it looks a lot better in its natural habitat, that ohlins spring might just be the missing link to tie the yellow bits together nicely, you can go up in 25lb increments with ohlins instead of 550.

Going off his previous post he has bought an uberbike 180mm to 203mm adapter which is much higher on one side so the tops have to slope, without conicals you’ll be able the get a feeler gauge under the bolt head on one side, so more than a bit dodgy IMO.
NSB or Hope rule when it comes to adapters, anything else is inferior, uberbikes look good being CNC but the platform lacks material so it’s a bit of a skinny perch for the caliper to sit on.

I’m under 80kg setting sag between 20-25 %, 1 or 2 clicks from open hsc and 4-5 clicks of lsc and 5-6 rebound.

I’m not averse to a bit of colour myself and a big fan of nukeproof stuff, the blue anodising is my current weakness and my chainring, pedals and stem are never bought in black, so its whatever floats your boat, but bright coloured grips will always get a no from me.

I remember original dh judys and those plastic adjusters at the top of the stanchions flying in the air after I’d replaced the elastomers with aftermarket coil springs, I nearly died, put me off rockshox for about 10 years.
Come on Bird sort out some moulded stays protection, that chainstay protector is more retro than those forks, you can add it to your nothing included selection section of optional extras 😃, no offence but the yellow pedals and grips cheapen it imo, cracking build with some lovely bits of kit otherwise.

Good to know shimano have no problem leaving you stranded and unable to complete your bike build for a few days or longer as well as adding another 20+ quid to the budget, they did the same with their mt800 bottom brackets, it’s pot luck whether you get the adapter or not when buying online, seems like its not just buying from germany that has hidden costs these days.
Has sillyoldman been on the whisky 🙂, what’s he on about and how’s it relevant. I think it’s an inconvenience issue more than cost, if that’s the point he’s trying to make.
Am I the only one who’s never heard of ingrid, hard to complain about costs when looking for obscure boutique sh*t or whatever ingrid is.

Can you go to rehab for ridiculously overpriced bike bits addiction, cos if you drop 500 on spokes you should maybe check yourself in.

The coolmax under shorts are a nice bit of kit and its always nice to stock up on GT85 at £1.99, anyone tried that muc-off innertube sealant at £7.

I’m guessing those modular stainless steel alloy spidered chainrings from superstarcomponents a couple of years back weren’t exactly a best seller.

If you can’t get proper conversion end caps for your hub and are relying on spacer type set up it depends on your faith in your axle’s strength, with a boost hub or proper conversion kits the end caps are resting in the dropouts so the axle isn’t taking 100% of the strain, if the axle breaks the tyre won’t instantly hit the fork arch but could if using spacer adapters, that’s just my humble opinion, a lot people will say its fine, but I doubt any warranties will be honoured if using spacer type adapters, trail riding should be okay but for big drop-offs n jumps I wouldn’t feel safe with spacers.

SJScycles 4 pack of sram eagle links = 2 full links, definitely confusing, think it started with 12speed, back when we were all on 10speed a link meant a full link.

If your previous shifter was 11sp XT ispec 2 the bracket YO3K31000 should work, SLX & Deore had different brackets. I assume you were running lesser spec than XT or bar mount so don’t have that bracket. Someone should have a spare for you on here to save you buying a new one or you could change the m8100 cover unit for bar clamp YOGT98020. Sjs cycles usually has spares.
Edit, you replied while I was typing, so i missed it, ignore some of the above.

I just looked on the website, everything I clicked on stated as in stock, despatched within 6-7 days, so thats a 24 hrs improvement, but thats still a week gone by before Royalmail etc get hold of it, who’s doing the packing, Julie walters character from the 2 soups sketch.

Bike shops have made an absolute killing this year and with a reduced wages bill in most cases, so it’s been a double whammy for them, a 10% off everything would have been nice.
Hats off to Superstarcomponents doing 25% off and Unite components doing 20% off this weekend.

Well I got the joke endo.
To be fair, wanting to give some nobhead a good hiding for trying to cave your door in in the middle of the night seems pretty normal (for a non coward) to me, if anything just to stop him having a go at another house, I’d feel pretty bad if I did nothing and he went and kicked in old Mrs Kelly’s weaker door further down the street.
I shudder to think what greens family would have had to deal with if the door gave out.
It’s easy to judge already knowing the outcome with the fella being on the floor and all, but greeny didn’t know this when he went after him, and expecting him to check his vitals and get close enough to check he’s still breathing, come off it, should he give him mouth to mouth as well, at least he called for an ambulance, probably thinking they’d be 10 or 15 mins.
There’s a vid on youtube from Charlie Veitch about crackheads attacking a preacher at Manchester piccadily Gardens and the reluctance of passers-by to give a toss, a truer reflection on society I think. I see hundreds of people just walk past the spice zombies there.

The magura clamp fits instead of the silver section on the shifter, you’ll need to undo the little philips screws, pop the top off then remove the internal screw that holds the silver alloy part to the plastic shifter top section, you can also find an XT m780 or Saint m820 top section will fit, if anyone has a broken or working bar mount shifter version going cheap you could swap the top section over.

Actually bought some red ones a couple of years back for £115 at winstanleys, also on order, just a couple of days delay if I remember correctly, was gonna pick em up but they had already posted them before I rang.
Current covid issues will probably mean a bit of a wait though.

For future ref. Get some mesh laundry bags for washing your pads, gloves etc. Velcro can be a right git some times.

Cable cutters 6″ with the two different sized scalloped edges for inner and outers, I have some old school knipex heavy duty but prefer the shaped cutting edge ones, screwfix used to sell some cheap unbranded ones but have replaced them with magnusson 8″ ones, theres plenty 6″ ones on Ebay for under £10 which have better sized, shaped blades for inners and outers and leave a really nice cut.
Theres a nice bit for squeezing the cable tidy onto inner cables too.

That’s just given me an idea, the master cylinder cap from Hope’s easy bleed kit is available as a spare for £7, maybe I could attach a syringe instead of their funnel, I already have epic’s universal kit.

My worry is that they sell Hope kit with two syringes, how does that work, my kit is a bit of clear tubing into an empty mouthwash bottle with a hole in the lid.

I have a few pairs of E4’s running 200mm front n rear, never felt the need for more power, I’ve paid as little as £115 for them, currently testing out gorilla brakes ceramic pads, good results so far.

Theres a serious lack of presses that can centre a ZS56 lower cup, how hard can it be to make an attachment that replicates a 52mm bearing but with an ID to match the rod.

This is why I hate frames with cables looping under the bb shell, awful design.
The bolt just holds the cable guide in place and should come out, tightening wont make it grip the cables tighter, it’s in two pieces held together by a little screw.
The manual is downloadable on the website, if you haven’t already done so.

Hopetech has an easy to follow chart of adapters with pics you can download. Personally I like my adapters CNC machined rather than forged, your calipers will have a nicer preciser more stable platform to sit on.

Shimano cl rotors come with lockrings so I’d sell as such, wheels without lockring is a lesser problem because it’s a higher value item worth treating to some bling Hope ones.
When I bought shimano hubs they didnt come with lockrings.

The most annoying thing is when you give someone an absolute bargain and they don’t even leave feedback.
I sell stuff cheap just to get rid of it quicker and I sleep better knowing I haven’t
charged too much, so when you get to know your buyer is very happy it makes me happy too, some people have even sent me pics of the item on their bike afterwards.

Threaded rod is cheap n cheerful enough and readily available, I once had a 56mm cup that refused to go in straight and was too big for my headset press so had to use 4 extra rods, one in each corner of some inch thick 5″ mahogany squares.
It would’ve been impossible with a mallet.

Traditional 1 1/8 could get damaged with mallet so I’d advise threaded rod.

Do specialized expect tyres to seat at 25 psi, nice of them to offer a refund but it’s only what they should do if those tyres aren’t fit for purpose.

Can’t find any info on these, nowt on the website yet, wonder when the big unveil will be. They don’t look particularly fast rolling but a casing between snakeskin and super gravity would be great.

Looks like that version is 4 bolt spider so you can use chainring spacers, the other deores are splined.

I’ve had shocking alignment with commencal frames, kona frames and a Trek with an ovalised headtube making headset installation a PITA, also had slight issues with one Nukeproof frame but my other Mega’s have been spot on.
Guy Martin’s visit to Orange had an interesting alignment fix involving a lump hammer.

Threaded bb is a key factor for me when buying a frame, I avoided a Rockymountain because of press fit, love Nukeproof and Transition for staying with threaded, misalignment is the killer of BB’s though, I’ve kept an old ISIS bb to check ever frame I buy.

It’s just because fox are now offering decal kits in 15 different options, most other companies don’t bother so are happy to let others do free eye catching advertising for them, but their bully boy tactics are a bit disappointing, turning down offers and not being open to discussion.
I always assumed they had permission though.
