It’s not like working on a bike is difficult is it.

Yes it does, thanks. So offset does move the wheel backwards but pushes the trail limit backwards. Had angle pushes the trail limit forward.
Two ways of achieving the same thing.

So why do Transition that already have relatively slack head angle want to use small offset forks as well.

I can’t get my head around why reduced offset increases trail. In my mind it should almost be the opposite of a slacker head angle.

Reducing the offset skills surely sharpen the steering and bring the front wheel more under the rider.

SBG is designed to be used with a fork offset that is shorter than traditionally used per wheel size. The shorter fork offset brings the front axle more rearward and under the rider which further increases front tire traction. This works in unison with the shorter stem length to provide a more direct steering input and dramatically enhances connectivity to what is happening with the front wheel. The shorter offset also brings the front wheel more under the rider which balances the effects of a slacker head angle. Our SBG system creates a longer trail figure than standard, used in a way that eliminates the negative side effects.

Transition bikes use a short offset from what i can see, does it counteract the slack front end while keeping the longer wheelbase.

I fancied a Stage 5 for a while, but it’s priced too high I think, comes close to some carbon bikes with much better suspension.

I have zero interest in tuning my suspension. I’ll get it roughly right then leave it forever more.

This, and its why my next suspension i want a damper with less adjustment, open, normal and climb would be perfect.

More travel is not always better.

On the subject of these, what size cable ties are best can i go bigger than 3.6mm?

Going to take the advice and also use self amalgamating rubber tape 19mm.

We get some condensation on brand new windows about 1cm max along the bottom.
I dont keep the heating on all night though so put it down to that, some rooms drop to around 14c overnight, plus you have us breathing moisture into the air.

I quite like GXP, no preloading of anything, no need to be carefull just tighten it up, one tool required.

This is something I have been trying to get for a while.
Id like to see certain segments compared to see if I’m getting faster or slower.

Space, noise, not as easy to put on the boot of your car for trips away from home.

I still just use a 2lt fizzy drinks bottle with a hose attached and valve fitted to the lid.

Definitely give MNPR ago if your in the area.
Maybe i was thinking about it all wrong, so what if your at the back all the time, best way to get faster is ride with faster people.
I was never left alone, they took it in turns to keep me company.

I need to get “bike fit” i can hike up mountains all day but on a bike im blowing out my ar** on any hills. I dont spend enough time on my bike really.

I did the prestwich ride, and some of the uphill sections killed me.

Might make it a new years resolution to try again after getting a bit fitter.

My Holy Moses works out at 15/£, but give out a great usable light not just one intense spot which i found was common with some ultra cheap lights.

Thats what i thought. Probably an ebay job then. Good bike for someone willing to stick to 26″ wheels. It doesnt suite my riding any more, want a 5010 now.

Ah yes, because all these minimum wage staff have the option to put the price up.

And that’s some how my problem. Do you tip all minimum wage earners then?
If there not happy with their wage, get out there and do something about out.

Bugs me that some think they deserve a pat on the back for simply doing what they get paid for. I dont so im certainly not going to turn into a charity for those that do.

We put the heating on at 5pm, set to 20c but it never reaches that temp. We get about 19c, by morning its back down to about 14c. Old boiler, no loft insulation over half the loft (loft boards) and in need of underfloor insulation.

Classy. How did you do this ‘research’?

We talked to the neighbors mostly. Things like “it was sad to see him pass away last year, its been empty for ages” tend to give a lot away.
Also the solicitor told us it was 3 sisters selling and the house was in none of there names.
We spent every night walking around the street as well to check for annoyances, amazing what you find out.

If you buy a car and it turns up with a wheel missing, you dont go, “oh its not worth the hassle” and buy one yourself.
If my contract says lights to be fitted in all rooms, i expect there to be just that.

Should always be in writing. After being messed around by our sellers we were very picky with them, so even demanded they buy us 2 new light bulbs as they were missing. We also billed them for removing an old bed and washing machine, which we asked to be removed and agreed but was still there when we moved in.

I decided to go at the whole house buying thing with my head not my heart and we ended up with a brilliant deal. I wasn’t prepared to be even slightly flexible with money, got 15k nocked of a 150k house after turning down two of there alternate offers (145 and 140).
The reason i did my research and new it was multiple relatives living apart selling a deceased parents house just before christmas. I actually regret not offering less.

Some people overdo it a bit in this country if you ask me, all the gear and no idea usually comes to mind when i’m out and about.
They walk into GoOutdoors and write a blank cheque it seems. Many times seen people on glorious days walking with enough stuff on there back to survive in the wilderness for weeks, and that’s Rivington.
Then there are the dangerous ones half way up striding edge with trainers and a t-shirt on, wading through 3 feet of snow.

Fancy clothes don’t matter, they can be more comfortable sure but navigating and general knowledge is what counts.

Definitely think GXP goes someway to help them last longer with the over tightening issue being eliminated. Hope ones being slightly larger bearings as well mine are lasting well.
