Could use the ring spanner to push one piston back at a time, no chance of fitting two spanners in there.
I’ve now managed to loose the tiny clip which stops the pin holding the pads in coming out ( although it is threaded ).
The brake fluid has never been touched since I’ve had the bike and pads fit last time so I’m cautious about releasing fluid ( especially as I don’t class myself as a competent bike mechanic ! ).
A weekend off the bike …. in the Lakes involving wild camping, Pinnacle Ridge scrambling, canoeing and swimming in Ullswater, Ghyll scrambling and beer ! Fantastic Fun :D
I’ve used organic and sintered and got fed up with the squeal of sintered so I use now use organic, how do kevlar compare, are they as noisy as sintered ?
In a local co-op at the till when a number of the female staff headed towards the door, a grubby looking chap then appeared from one of the aisles dragging a bag with a couple of assistants hanging onto the other end shouting, without really thinking I put my arms under his and round the back of his neck, forcing him to let go of the bag, expecting to have to wrestle him to the ground the assistants shouted to get him out of the shop. I was virtually at the door by this time so just released him onto the street. At this point he backed off about 10 feet swore and threw something at me, I turned to receive a small missile in the side. I was about to go after him but the assistant said don’t, they know who he is and he was banned from the shop. The assistant then picked up the missile – a crushed creme egg !
They took details and thanked me for being the only one to help – the shop was busy !
I got a rollocking from the wife when I got home for stepping in, but it’s surprising the bruise you can get from a creme egg
If you cycle along the canal from the bridge towards Leeds during office hours – look up and wave at the offices opposite to annoy me …. I’d rather be out there than stuck inside …… :D
I use a Petzl Duo for caving and a Hope Vision 4 for biking, while there is a head mount with the Hope I wouldn’t dare risk taking the Hope caving. I often wonder how bright it would be but I suspect it would get battered very quickly.
Personally I prefer to use the LBS for most things, I do occasionally buy from the web, but much prefer to use the LBS, whose service I find excellent. As it’s very local to me it’s no trouble to call there most weekends even if it’s only for a chat.
I prefer to have the bike maintained by them as I don’t think the labour charges are excessive and I don’t generally enjoy working on the bike, I’d rather be riding it.
Having bought my last couple of bikes from them, I can rely on them to help out if I’m having problems with the bike, often at short notice.
I live in Mirfield and while there are some dodgy areas, most is ok. As said earlier there is easy access to the rolling hills to the south, Calderdale and the Pennines to the west.
We’re on holiday in Portugal seeing some friends who had managed to borrow me a bike, so I tagged along with a group of locals yesterday. Only one spoke English so I had no idea where or how far we were going. A great ride in the Algarve region, 60km when we got back. Dry, dusty tracks and singletrack down by a river, most of the route off-road.
:D
Hopefully we want to enter as a team of 3, but we need confirmation from the final member. If they don't confirm we'll enter as a pair. Can we change the entry once it's placed ?
My hot hatch was a '79 Chevette HS, one of the original 400 made for homologation purposes, started life as a road car, then prepared for rallying, both road and stage …… happy days :)
